Hi!I do have this setup in my home lab.CSserver - with 10.10.10.0 subnetMA - with 192.168.0.0 subnet and 10.10.10.0Proxmox server within 192.168.0.0 subnet(maybe in some time i will also add some more subnets) So my idea is that i would like my Proxmox to register to CSserver  via media agents. I want to simulate an infrastructure where CVserver is having only one internal interface to cummunicate to MAs only. How to achive that? I have tried to install 2nd instance on MA with gatteway agent. I have tried to create some network rules via CommandCenter, but still Proxmox is not able to register in CS…Maybe I am missing somthiing? All Commvault servers are Linux based and i have disabled internal firewall and SELinux for testing purpouses so it seems that there is somthing wrong with CV configuration itself. Is there maybe somekid of guide, similar topic or so? 

Hello!I am new to comvault and currently working on a project to backup our VMs. As I have been slowly adding VM backups I have noticed that the current capacity is going up as it should and we are currently at 19.8TB out of 23TB and that is what we are licensed in backup and recovery. I got an alert saying we are over 80% utilization so I went in a retired and then deleted a few of the VMs that I had done but the capacity hasn’t gone down. How to I delete the backups that were done for those VMs or will it eventually remove the data? Also I noticed on the dashboard the the current capacity is 23TB but the total disk storage space next to is it 32TB and we are only using 7TB. What is the difference between capacity and storage space? 

I manager a Commvault system that has been in existence for over 10 years. Throughout the years, engineers and configured and moved mount paths as needed. At this point I have drives with several mount paths on each one. Commvault reports 5 mount paths on a 100TB drive as 500TB. If I show executives utilization reports, it will appear that we have several PB of storage. Storage they know they didn’t purchase. Is there a way to consolidate mount paths, without deleting data, so I can run utilization reports with realistic numbers?

Hello,I do backup restore testing on 11.32 version and found that speed of single stream is quite limited. For SAP for Oracle DB agent I’m getting around 700-900 GB/h per stream, for VMware VSA agent around 700 GB/h per stream.At the same time backup server hardware resources are not very busy, hardware is quite powerful, DDB is on NVMe drives, Library is on SSD drives. Restore destination hardware resources also are not heavy loaded. So I see that hardware and network is not the bottleneck.Tested on Pools with 128KB and 256KB DDB blocks, with media encryption enabled AES128Are there any software limits for stream speed implement programmatically by Commvault? If yes, then can I control this limit manually using some advanced setting?Br,Andrejs

We have upgraded Commserve from 11.28 to 11.36 recently. When we are trying to run the qscript we get following error. It’s been a while since I have posted here- but - Here we go! Whats going on with Readiverse? I took all the self paced learning items and it didnt show any completion ( yea a certificate) but no badges etc. Also, the test for SAAS m365 I took and scored 0%(?) - So I went back and looked at my answers and all but 1 was marked correct. Seems you get a 0% no matter what which keeps you from completing the course. anyone else experience this? Has anyone else used other platforms for elearning like Pluralsight?  Thanks 

One of our vendors suggested that AWS changed something in a recent SDK which can affect (break) S3 communication. On RHEL8 MA’s I see nothing that seems to resemble any sort of file or package relating to any such SDK, so, can someone tell me if AWS’s SDK is being used or if your connection to an S3 compatible storage target might be affected?I only see some sdk’s relating to lib* but nothing that looks like “AWS” specific.thanks

Our M365 administrator changed the email retention policy to 7 years in our M365 tenant. Prior to this, there was no policy enforced.The incremental backups prior would complete in under 30 min. for maybe a few GB of data. Directly after the change, there was 91 GB. The next was 177 GB, which I ended up killing, and then 240 GB that ran for almost 3 days before I killed it.I found the one mailbox slowing things down which had a large amount of emails - not the biggest mailbox but just the amount of mail items.My question is, what is the reason for the change after the Retention Policy is applied to email? It sounds like it may have to “re-seed” the data - what does this mean?

I am trying to add an additional web server for our Commvault environment. Would like to have some information on the chronological order on how it is done as the document from the Commvault website appears scattered everywhere. THe install information itself is not difficultThe question I have is more of how to connect the additional web server to the Commserve so reports can be generate of it.  Or how you can enable it so Command centre can work.  The new web server and the existing Commserver has windows firewall enabled both ends  so would be interested what ports ( inbound and outbound) needs to be opened.

We have some clientes on worm storage policy. Those clients have been shut down. we do not need that clients and their backup anymore. How can I delete them from Commvaut?I I tried manuel deletion, I tried to mark backup job as bad , and I tried to delete via RetireClients worfklow but IT did not work.we need to delete all those clients and their jobs from commvault

Hi,New install with 3 x Hyperscale X nodes in this config.Cisco UCSC240M6 and Cisco UCS VIC 15427 The VIC 15427 configured as physical nic mode which creates 4 x vNics om the server.Links are up ( after turning off FEC)  and Bond created with LACP.All looks good from the network side  but we cannot reach anythine else on the network, not even default gateway.Analysing the switch traffic the ping request gets to the gateway and reply is sent back to the server but the packet is not picked up.Anyone with this configuration that have had similar problems?  And if so possible solution?/ G

Hi all. After upgrading to 11.32.13 we are sporadically starting to see the below error when doing Vmware snapshot backup. The backup job fails or completes with errors: “Snapshot creation is disabled on [Server name] by [].”   Snapshot creation is not disabled for the server, and when backup is re-run everything is working. Have anyone else seen this behavior? Regards-Anders 

Hi am i correct in assuming that we are restricted to 10GB restores and if greater than that a file server agent must be installed to complete the restore. 

Hello,Current Infra CommCell 11.36.41 Linux on COmmserve & HSXI'm going to get closer to Commvault to have an answer but in the meantime I want to share my questions here.I am working on an interested project to :add redundancy on the dedicated Command Center (HA) Allow access to end user teams to perform cross restore tests etc …I have some requirements from SOC  :the API endpoint must be protected by API Managet like TYK the API calls must be secured by MFADoes Commvault support the use of an API Gateway like TYK ?Does anyone now if we can implement MFA over API ?Thanks ! 

Hello, I am trying to test the application validationfor the first attempt some flow have been blocked by physical firewalls, I opened the ports 2049, 2050 and 111 from ESXi to HSX nodes.I still have the issue, we checked on the physical FW logs and  we see that the ports are allowedIs there any flow to open on the internal firewall firewall-cmd ? 2049, 2050 and 111 ? Thanks !

My executive want me to print out an “easy to read” report of all server that we back up, with the run schedule and storage retention. Does such a report sound possible? I am playing with the reports that have not found anything I could give an executive...thanks

Dear Commvault Experts In Commvault Doc, it defines Data Aging as: “Data Aging is the process of removing old data from secondary storage to allow the associated media to be reused for future backups.” Q1:What is “secondary storage” ??If I use an EMC storage, such as EMC VMAX array as a destination to save the backed up data, is this EMC storage array “secondary storage”? Q2:If I set storage policy’s retention to be 7days/1 cycle, as well as enable the “Enable Data Aging” feature,  in or after 8th day, will the backed up data be erased from the EMC storage? Thanks for any hint or direction!
