Hi,We upgraded our Commcell from 11.34 to 11.36.28. I am looking for an offsite copy solution. My environment consists of 2 media servers and 1 CommServe in a virtual environment, with Exagrid as backend storage. Is it possible to zone the tape library with the Virtual Media Agent servers? If so, could you please share the process?

11.28.126 O365 Sharepoint Online First Time Setup - Error is: The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.This appears in the CVSPAutoDiscoverScan.log on the O365 ‘Access Node’ We have setup a new Azure App, to backup Sharepoint Online for a customer, the Azure App appears as Authorized But we unable to get any Content, when I try ‘Add Sites’, we receive the following message - now my Azure guys tell me 1 and 2 are fine, so we go to three - the kb article refers to this command Set-SPOTenant -DisableCustomAppAuthentication $falseWhich my Azure guys tell me is now retiredI’m hoping someone has had this pain before and knows a workaroundThanks 

Hi,I have configured VMware backup jobs weekly 6 days incremental and one day Synthetic full backup job.But i can see only incremental jobs without synthetic full.  Commvault running version - 11.32. Please advise how to perform synthetic full in job level.

Hellowe just upgraded from 11.28.x to 11.32.73 a few days ago and now we have been getting these DATA CUBE EVENTS.  Im not sure why or how these started or what they are.   I still consider myself a novice commvault user. for our upgrade We had to basically uninstall commvault and then uninstall MS SQL as we couldn't go straight to 11.32 as our MS SQL server was still on 2014 with 11.28.xSo once we uninstalled both commvault and MS SQL we used the 11.32.x Full version to install commvault/ MSSQL back onto our server with the same commvault packages as prior then we did a recovery on the DBs.  Of course I had issues with the Recovery portion and had to tie in support.   But now Im noticing the following:  EVENT CODE 72:176[Data Cube service] with URL [http://xxxxxxxxxx.xxx.com:20000/solr/api/ping] is not responsive. Reason [Data Cube service is down or unreachable]. Please make sure [Data Cube service] is running and reachable.

Does the information below in the report (see red square) mean that the backup size from that particular media agent is over 18TB?  

hiI have a question about the local admin user.is the user needed? Can i delete him or remove some permissions? Im talking about the default user that is created when first creating the commcell

Hi,Some time ago Dell introduced support for Transparent Snapshots in their offerings which according to their materials should boost VMware VMs protection and restore. As far as I know Dell is the only vendor using this, so I am not sure whether this is a VMware technology or is it a third-party in this case.Anyhow, I wanted to ask if there is a similar solution on the road ahead that is/will be available in Commvault?

Hello Community, I’m currently migrating a old Commserve to a new hardware, which has different host name and IP settings, also with CommServe upgrading (11.28 → 11.34). So I have folllowed this page for the hardware refreshing: https://documentation.commvault.com/2024e/expert/commserve_upgrade_with_hardware_refresh_overview.htmlI used Recovery Assistant Tool when setting up the CommServe database on new hardware. Now it works fine. The problem is when copying backup files (CV_MAGNETIC) from old machine to new one, the size of file has expanded a lot (5TB → 10TB) on disk. I assume this is bacuase of using DDB.  I have also copied the DDB content (CV_SIDB folder and icl_label.txt file) to the new machine, but with different drive letter(D:\SIDB → E:\SIDB).

Hello,I want to delete a mount path after the migration. But when I try to delete it, I get error message saying:“Delettion is not possible. Reason - Storage has WORM data”Any idea what should I do?

Hello Community, I have some flow to automate. In my company we have second copy of data working as our DR solution. I would like to have possibility of change backup copy association from Storage Policy by API or QCommand to automate entire process. Please let me know which option is possible to perform in that situation. For example: Regards, Michal 

Commvault docs say “If the mount path move job fails or is killed, you need to manually clean the data that was copied to the destination mount path.”Would not “Clean orphan data” do the cleaning?

Hi,We have configured a new Oracle RAC version 19c with two nodes. The Oracle Agent has been successfully installed, and the nodes were added to the CommCell console. Following this, the Oracle RAC was automatically created on the CommCell.However, when I attempted to configure the instance, the process was unsuccessful, and I encountered the following error:  Could you please assist me in resolving this issue? 

Hi all,I am trying to set Entra ID backups on our CommCell. I am following the documentation under Getting Started with the Azure Active Directory Application, including Complete the Guided Setup for Active Directory which is one of the steps.When I go to Guided Setup on the Commserve, all of the applications within “Protect” are greyed out, so I am not able to find the AAD or AD Application, or access any of them (see screenshot) including other tabs in that page. Even when logged in as local administrator, which is associated with the master role.

Hi Community,I want to know where deduplication happens in a Global deduplication storage policy?Client side or Media agent side or both?if both, then if the encryption is enabled how it dedupes? i know that the encryption happens in a way Compress > Dedupe > Encrypt .If the encryption enable in agent side, the agent do Compress > Dedupe > Encrypt and send data to media agent. does the media agent decrypts data to dedup again or send the data as it is to Disk lib?

Hi All,Is there any way I can restore full virtual machine to a virtual access node if it is only access node in particular VMware environment. Because all Commvault services on this access node don’t start up after upgrading its software version to 11.32.69.  Thank you.

Hi all, I’m looking for a little bit of assistance. I’m trying to build a custom report for our monitoring needs, the issue is I’m not sure how to filter out data received by an API Call. For example: I add a dataset > HTTP > Rest API: /JobThe above returns me all the jobs, how do I filter jobs that ran on a particular date? Is there any tool I can use in the dashboard creator itself? Thanks a lot for any suggestions.

Hello,Our Comcell is running at 11.34 and we are palnning to upgrade it to the latest LTS platform release  ( 2024E - 11.36 ).For some reason, 11.36 does not show on the downlownd software drop-down list. Only 11.34 & 11.28. Any idea what could be the reason for that ? Thanks

Hello,I am currently running BMR 1-Touch recovery tests, but I have a problem when rebooting the client. It remains stuck on the button with a circle that spins to infinity.I use Commvault version 11.32.65 and ISO 1Touch_REL11_32_63_WinPE10_x64.The client is a Lenovo P5 with a Windows 10. It has a two partitions and disk has no RAID.I did 1-Touch recovery tests with a Windows Server 2019 on the machine and didn’t encounter any problems.Backups and restores do not report errors on the Commserve and go all the way.It looks like it is Windows 10 that is problematic while System Requirements, it is indicated that this OS is supported.

Hi TEam, Commvault VSS services on VSA is getting stopped intermittently.We have KPI when this service goes down, the alert is getting triggered. This is causing noise.As a workaround we have to start the services CV VSS manually. Is it expected that VSS will auto stop/start when Backups run ? Is it possible to keep it online always ?Can we enable automatic start of this services after reboot ? Please advise.

Hi Vaulters,I have a question regarding a new full linux 11.36 config done entirely using the Command Center.I recently installed a Grid of 2 Linux Media Agents with each its DA SAN FC storage. I created a disk library with 2 mount paths and 2 dedup partitions.On the properties of each mount point I can see the path of the mount point of the Media Agent that hosts the block storage but I also can see a path  “via network” from the other Media Agent. Anybody know the nature of this “network” share? Is that a dataserver-ip share? Anybody knows a way to use a good old NFS share between the 2 MA in a grid without the Java console?

I make a backupof MS SQL system databases (master, msdb). The backup job is made without errors. Then I try to restore system databases from the backup and when opening Browse and Restore - View Content I get the message There's no data to restore. How to properly backup system databases and what I'm doing wrong
