Web Console Deprecation – What Customers Need to Know Commvault is continuing its move toward a single, modern management experience through the Command Center. As part of this transition, the legacy Web Console has been officially deprecated and is no longer included by default in newer Commvault platform releases. This article explains what the deprecation means for you, when the Web Console may still be required, and how to request access if your environment depends on it. Why is the Web Console being deprecated? The Web Console is being retired as Commvault standardizes on the Command Center as its primary management and reporting interface. The Command Center provides equivalent or enhanced capabilities, improved security alignment, and is the strategic platform for all future feature development. We’ve made some adjustments to the Commvault Documentation site to align the content more closely with the product itself. Nothing is going away, and there are no changes to the SaaS documentation other than a label update in the drop-down menu. We’ve heard a lot of feedback that the terms Essential and Expert are confusing, so we’ve simplified the naming to make it clearer where to find the content you need. Here are more details on the changes you’ll see: CommCell Console (Expert) DocumentationThe Expert docs will be renamed to “CommCell Console.” The Documentation team will no longer make regular updates to the Expert documentation. Critical updates may still be applied as needed, but customers should expect new content and enhancements to be focused elsewhere. The Feedback tool will remain disabled. Documentation Site UpdatesAs of August 2025:The Expert site has been removed from the documentation site’s drop-down menu, but it remains accessible from the documentation landing page (

As organizations increasingly rely on DevOps platforms like Azure DevOps, GitHub, and GitLab for software development, the security and recoverability of repositories, metadata, and CI/CD pipelines is critical. That’s why we are excited to announce the general availability of Commvault® Cloud Backup & Recovery for DevOps. Now, you can safeguard your valuable source code, intellectual property, and configurations from accidental deletion, corruption, or malicious attacks. Why Back Up DevOps Data?DevOps platforms are critical to modern software development, facilitating collaboration, streamlining workflows, and enabling teams to deploy software and applications quickly and efficiently. These platforms store a wealth of business-critical intellectual property, including source code repositories, CI/CD pipelines, wikis, issues, configurations, and metadata. But what if...A developer accidentally deletes a repo? A compromised credential leads to the malicious deletion of source code? A
Today, we are excited to announce the general availability of Commvault® Cloud Backup & Recovery for Active Directory Enterprise Edition. This offering builds on our existing AD protection capabilities, which include change detection and granular object-level restores, and brings a new level of resilience by enabling automated, rapid recovery of the Active Directory forest. AD Recovery is Foundational to Continuous BusinessMicrosoft Active Directory (AD) is the cornerstone of most enterprise IT networks, providing essential authentication and authorization for business-critical applications and resources. When AD is damaged or taken completely offline, the critical applications and services it supports become inaccessible. Consider the impact: Bank staff can't access customer accounts. Doctors and nurses can't access medical records. Coders and developers can't publish code. Teams can't collaborate or chat to get work done.Without AD, the business cannot continue. Cybercriminals kn
Overview In release 11.38 update pack 32, we are introducing a new feature for both Software and SaaS database customer environments: log backup with caching for SQL, Oracle, and SAP HANA databases. This allows you to perform log backups at more frequent intervals and leverage a caching mechanism to securely and efficiently transfer transaction logs from the database server to backup storage. The Log Backup with Caching feature enhances database protection by enabling high-frequency transaction log backups—even during control plane/CommServe computer downtime. Logs are first written to a secure cache before being backed up to storage, allowing for data consistency and the potential to improve RPOs. This change will be enabled for new backup plans automatically and does not require action. Existing backup plans for SaaS customers will be updated over the coming months. Read through our FAQ below for more details. Q: What is Log Backup with Caching?Log Backup with Caching allows transac
