HiWe want to be able to scale better but we need to still utilize our existing SANs as storageso as far as I can read we have two optionsSAN Data Server NAS box in front of our SAN (HNAS or something like that) I would to hear from people who use SAN Data Server what is your setup like and have you found any problems that I need to consider before going that route? We have fiber channel connection from all MediaAgent to SAN today so we only need to buy a server and put the QLogic cards in then the infrastructure should be in place..Best regardsBjarke

Guten Tag, wir haben eine Tape Library die in der Vergangenheit verschiedene Jobs aufbewahrt hatte. Nun haben wir das Problem das die Library vollgelaufen ist und wir bestimmte Bänder nicht freibekommen, weil verschiedene Jobs die nicht ausgealtert sind das Band nicht freigeben und teilweise wegen ein Job noch gehalten wird. Wir wollen versuchen jetzt in Zukunft ein sauberen Jobs auf dieTapelibrary bringen. Kann man irgendwo in Commvault einstellen das bestimmte Jobs einer Storage Policy in eine bestimmte Medien Gruppe / Storage Pool der Tape Library geht und andere Jobs die halt eine kürze Vorhalte Zeit haben dann woanders auf der Library kopieren. So das sie nicht im gleichen Medien unterkommen? Vielen Dank für die Zeit zum lesen.
What are the implications of running LiveSync across 2 sites each with a CommServe and automatic failover set to occur? In the case of a Primary CommServe failure I see no issue and expect the monitoring nodes (both sites) to trigger transfer of the primary function to the CommServe at the other site.However… What if site A becomes isolated from site B with a network failure between both sites? I expect the Primary Commserve continue to run its site but will the CommServe in site B become active at site B as well with the monitoring nodes there losing connection with the CommsServe at site A? Will this result in a “Split Brain” condition across both sites??? If so, what happens on network reconnection???

Is there a way to create an alert or email notification specifically for whenever a backup job failes due to “insufficient free space available to create a snapshot of virtual machine”?I see this from time to time whenver a datastore in vCenter is has low in free space which is easy to resolve. However, I may not always notice the error right away.
Hello,we got several LTO4 Tapes from a customer to recover files from it. The IT-Department doesn’t exist anymore and the contact person has no clue about anything. We successful imaged 2 Tapes an in the first sector we saw “CommVault Media Label… CommVault Systems Galaxy” Entrys. What brings me here. ;-)How can we restore files from the tapes, what do we need. Have a single system that is not able communicate properly with the commserve for backup purposes.Check Rediness returns OK.cvping from/to the client and commserv is happy.All services on the client are running.client and commserve are in same subnet, so no firewall appliances between them.Client services stopped/started, and finally rebooted the client. no change.Some of the errors in the logs:“There is no incoming network connection from ‘commserve’”“No Incoming tunnel from ‘commserve’”“Couldn’t translate client name ’client’ to a client ID.last step i guess is to re-install the client?

Hi, I have a three node HSX Reference Architecture stack.On one of the nodes the network card has failed. On this card one port is connected to the Production LAN and the other to the Storage. The node has two network cards configured so my node is still up. I have ordered a new network card but my question is, do I need to do anything after I replace it or will it just be added back to the Bonds ? Thanks

We have a 6-node cluster Hyper Scale 1.5 dedicated to backup purposes in our DR workload. Hi Alldoes email activity in workflows require special permission in office 365 email account? I’m able to send the normal alerts over email using SMTP details defined in control panel. But when i try to use email activity, it gives the authentication error! Do we require to enable some special permission on office 365 account to allow workflows?
Dear Team,We observed, Full & incremental aux copy backup size are almost same.Aux copy schedule are below:-Weekly Full :- 03:00 AM on SaturdayDaily Incremental :- 07:00 PM on SaturdayNote :- another day incremental backups are completed normally. but only problem for Saturday incremental aux copy backup.(I thing Saturday incremental aux copy backup are taking INCR + FULL, because we have checked XYZ Job ID reflecting both tapes.)

Hi, We had our Oracle RAC being backup by the Commvault. The backup is running ever since with any config changes or past issue but suddenly our DB team complaining of latency issue due to Commvault is doing backup of data in node which is the active which consume a lot of memory and cpu resources of the DB servers. The DB is questioning why the backup is performed in the node 1(active) as they assume it runs in node 2 before that is why no latency issue encountered in their end. The challenge question to Commvault is is there a way the backup process is deviating from doing backup from one node to do it in another node automatically? What is the behavior of Commvault Oracle RAC backup, where the data is read to which node and is there a way to change it by default to read in another node of the cluster?
