We are Planning to deploy the new CommCell console. As i understand, by default it comes with the evail license and we have to apply the permanent license within 90 days. Ca we run backups in evaluation mode or we have to wait for permanent license key.

Noob alert! Hi everyone, I fear our DR damaged or our "Storage policies\CommServeDR" Policy is misconfigured, because since a month, the DDB Verification Job are constantly failing. Short resume/background: 1)We store our Backups and DR in a Network-Storage. Our Commvault Version is 11.25.28. 2)I tried backing up and restoring files, and it works. I did test DR restore (In March) using this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1H4w2CYdf4c).3)As always users can still run backups, restore data, etc. but we get lots DDB-Verification failures and DR "Completes" but with errors.4)In Commcell, if you try to browse to our Network DR folder(Commcell\Control Panel\Maintenance\DR Backup\"Back up Metadata to this folder"), we get the following message "incorrect password or unknown username to selected access path" I checked the credentials and also check if server can reach the Path. Hi Team, i got several Servers which have the Filesystem & SQL Agent installed. I grouped them based on agent to a SQL group. Now i wanted to give the SQL Admins the permission to backup & restore SQL instances. Unfortunately the grouping of “Client Computer Groups” with SQL Agent counts for the Whole “Client”   so when i add the SQL Admins as Backup / Restore user on that group they can also restore / backup on the Filesystem Agent ( as the Client is added not only the SQL Agent ) so is there a way to just allow the SQL agent and exclude the other Agents with an automatic association? ( the only way i found is manually just give the right on each Client Agent itself…. )  

I'll briefly explain my problem:Our customers use a Huawei cloud platform with the production site in Milan, while the DR site is always done for the cloud in Bologna.Now a commvault platform is installed in production for backups with release 11.20, while on the DR site I have not installed commvault services.My question is simple, in case of loss of the production site is it possible to manually restore the commvault services on the DR site?ThksDario

Hello Community,I keep on wondering about one thing.  There’s a feature called Ransomware Protection which is allowing MediaAgents to protect Libraries and Mount Paths. In terms of local storage there’s kind of lock being provided. What if there’s cloud storage in place e.g. Azure or GCP connected to MediaAgent? There’s still some kind of lock in place which is preventing objects from being modified by non-commvault tasks?

I have a storage policy for MS SQL backups. The retention is 21 days, but the transaction log backups do not expire after 21 days. I run the Data Retention Forecast report and it shows those log backups are not expiring because of SQL LOG RULE. I’ve read the documentation and none of it seems to apply. I have other storage policies for SQL and this isn’t an issue. This is the only storage policy with this behavior. Anyone have any ideas of what to check?

I need to limit bandwidth usage to 50% during 8am-5PM for AUX copies.  What is the best way to accomplish this? I am planning to select the source media agent and the destination media agents under the properties of the source media agent.  Then I will configure the rules to only use 50% usage during 8am-5PM.   What all does this impact?  The destination media agents are used for multiple other copies coming from different media agents and I do not want them to be limited. Really just looking for confirmation that if I setup the throttling on the source media agent and select the destination media agents in addition to the source that it will only impact the AUX Copy between these source and destination and will not throttle any backups running to the source media agent or any other media agents writing to the destination media agents.

Hi,I am trying to duplicate Oracle DB from production to test server, but when I pick all the options and go to script preview I get this: I don’t really understand what is the problem, I’ve checked my oracle instance configuration in Commvault and either ORACLE USER in general tab or connect string in details tab fields are set on both the source database (target instance) and target database (auxilary instance). Hi, I have a case where customer is preventing user access using IMAP/POP to Google mail. Since Commvault is using IMAP to download e-mails it cannot work unless customer will enable IMAP access. There is a way in Google to do this selectively, specifically it can be narrowed to Oauth client IDs. I’m not sure if Commvault cloud app client uses Oauth at all, but I kind of wish for it.So my question is this: does Commvault cloud app client have any Oauth ID which a customer may use to restrict IMAP access for Commvault only? If so, where can it be found?

Dear all,we are running an 11.25 platform with a mix of Windows and Linux servers so we have installed two FREL to enable granular restore. Few days ago one of the FRELs just disappeared from the availability list, I mean it doesn’t appear anymore in the dedicated combo-box in the “Browse and Restore Options” dialog.The Linux machine is regularly up and running.Is there any way to recover it’s presence? Thank you in advance for your helpGaetano

Hello.The Commserve server you are currently using has Commserve version 11 Servicepac8 installed (OS is Windows 2016)Error message 'Error: Failed to install IIS Server Roles 2012 (IIS Server Roles 2012) with error code 0x80070422.' occurred during Commvault SerivcePack 20 upgrade.IIS 10.0 is currently installed on that server, and the Windows update service is running normally.Is there a way to install IIS Server Roles 2012 separately?Or if there is another solution, please share it.Thank you.

hello everyone , i need some help her i lose disk hold index directory for media agent ,so i create a new one with enable access path ,when i run any job ,its completed with error size 0 kb , as i see on log file , he access old index cache dir .

Hi,I'm getting the error [24:64] Description: There was nothing to restore - subclient(s) not backed up.When I do the restore of the virtual machine the restore works normally, but when I restore the guest files and folder, the commvault shows this error.  I can also browse the files normally, does anyone have any idea what might be going on? restores are for Nutanix AHV.

Hi, I normally back up my oracle instances, a full weekly and incremental the other days. All backup jobs are successful, but I don't understand why I don't see any available backups in the recovery point calendar. Can you help me understand what the problem is? ThksDario

is there any way of dropping a DB prior to a scheduled restore? I don’t think there is an option to do this but is there a simple way to capture the list of drops a drop them ahead of the restore starting?

When I want to backup Exchange online, Sharepoint online, Ondrive and teams do I need 4 access nodes? There is little data in ondrive and teams can I use the same access node? 

We are getting below error while doing sap hana cross restoreSAP HANA Error[Could not figure out os username]...  Os username is correct as well. Can someone help
