Hi all,I would like to discuss with you following issue. There is an issue with backing up of VM machines.Hence, there are strange warnings such as Metadata colletion failed for virtual machine, Guest file browse will not be available for this virtual machine, Used space calculation for volume and VM is not possible, as this is only supported for ntfs volumes, File system metadata collecgtion is not supported for (Unknown) volumeIt seems that all vmware backup jobs are very slow...my guess is that there is something bad with vmware environment itself. There is nbd transport mode used as auto option. Have you ever seen any simillar issue? Where to start troubleshooting? 

Hi,We are currently having an issue with a Linux Proxy that is running RHEL 8.x.We used to have a Linux proxy running RHEL 7 that was being used to mount snapshots from other RHEL 7 clients and copy them over to the disk library.As we rolled out new RHEL 8 clients, we wanted to set up a Linux Proxy running RHEL 8.x.The Snapshot copy phase works fine and we can see the snapshots on the storage. Hello,One of our customer wants to remove the SQL application plugin (application aware backup) installed in his VMs and replace it by the “real” SQL agent to take a streaming backup for the SQL environment. The application plugin was installed during the first application aware backup.Is there a procedure to remove the SQL application plugin and install the SQL iDatagent?ThanksBest regards

Hi,We take backups of VMs by installing VSA on VM and using hotadd transport mode (mount of VMDK of VM to backup into VSA proxy). The VMDK data are then sent, through the LAN, from the VSA proxy to physical media agents containing disk space.Now, I am looking for the restore process. Is the restore process as follows:Restore VM data from Media Agent to VSA Proxy using the LAN The VSA Proxy mounts the VMDK of the VM to be restored (even if we need to restore a single file?) we are trying to backup the azure VMs using MA placed in azure with VSA installed on them. Backup is taken to azure blob storage vis service endpoint. Problem is, when we try to browse the content on subclient of azure pseudo client, sometime we get error and some it shows the content (VM list). credentials are fine, all permissions are in place. cloud test tool also shows clean result.  Any recommendation on what logs we can check when it fail to browse subclient content on azure pseudo client? also any other suggestions will be really helpful. 

Last month VMware released VCD 10.4 which is an exciting release for a lot of VMware Cloud Providers. But this time they also deprecated a lot of older API versions including the API version that is being used by Commvault. We currently run FR26 which uses API version 31 to communicate with VCD so we cannot upgrade to VCD 10.4 and it's also not listed as part of the supported version in the FR28/2022e documentation.I heard rumours support will be added in a FR28 (2022e) maintenance release somewhere in the near future, but I hope someone can be more clear on when we can expect VCD 10.4 to be supported.  From the release notes:VMware Cloud Director API versions 31.0 and 32.0 are not supported VMware Cloud Director API versions 33.0, 34.0, 35.0 and 35.2 are deprecated and will be unsupported starting with the next major VMware Cloud Director release.https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Cloud-Director/10.4/rn/vmware-cloud-director-104-release-notes/index.html  

Good day everyone,If a customer has Vmware VMs that are replicated to Azure using LiveSync, if we do a test failover, do we necessarily have to do a failback. It takes a long time because it has to sync the full VM back to on prem.We would like to just test the failover, spin-up the VM to test it, and then simply delete it. we do not want to sync back to on-prem. We just want to power on the on-prem after the test failover and be back to normal.Is it possible in Commvault? How would I do that?Thanks very much in advance for your help. 

What is the process to delete backup jobs for a specific server that were created by a VMware virtual server subclient?  In some cases I may want to manually age out some jobs.  Some of these jobs may be in cloud archive.  Will this free up storage?

What is Commvault's direction for correctly backing up vCenter Server Appliance [VCSA] and to include the Content Library metadata and library contents? The library contents are stored on a vSphere datastore and may include any type of file, including VM Templates Folders (containing .vmtx, .vmdk, .vmsn, .nvram files), .ova, .ovf, .iso, and other file types. So it would seem there needs to be a special backup subclient created to include all of the above contents (not just the Virtual Server Agent [VSA] default subclient).Perhaps VMware publishes the API and Commvault has a configured the VSA for this task? Hi,We've noticed that when snapshot exist on VM we have performance issue. Backup of VM which normally takes 5 minutes  could takes more than 5 hours. Sometimes it can takes 24 h and failed. When we have changed transport mode from SAN/Hot Add to NDB then backup takes 10 minutes. Is that normal when other manually created snapshot already exist? Is it limitation of VADP API?  Is there any recommendation and best practices for VADP backup?Regards,Lukasz
