Hi,I have storage policy with retention:Primary - disk 2 days 2 cyclesSecondary -tape - 30 days 0 cyclesI am doing selective aux copy of full backups. Old transaction logs are not deleting from primary even if their retention is over.I am wondering if there is any option to aux copy full’s but independent from transaction logs on primary.Regards,Lukasz

Hello Commvault Community, The client wanted to switch to a configuration where HTTP in the environment was supposed to be completely disabled in favor of HTTPS, but there was a problem with the certificates - a problem with the CA certificate.The client asks if this certificate could be a wildcard as they have for the main .xyz.pl domain to use it? I have a MediaAgent which was initially configured with an optical fiber to the StoreOnce, and now it was enabled a new optical fiber, so I want to take the two optical fibers, since when performing a Backup continues to take only one fiber (the first initially enabled).Is it necessary to make an additional configuration to take both optical fibers?Thank you very much for your help. Hello friends, I need your valuable help.😁I have a hyper-v backup consisting of two nodes. Both nodes are configured as mediaagents and with access to the backup devices (storeonce), in the subclient are selected both paths, however when the backup process runs, it appears that only uses a single node as mediaagent, and this causes slowness in the process. what should I do to take both meddiaagents and thus optimize my backup process?Thank you for your help.

Hello,In my Commvault servers, I have noticed a massive difference between the size of the Front-End data size and the Total Media Size in Commvault. For example, when I ran a chargeback report, one customer's Front-End data size is 1.5 TB while the Total Media Size was 27 TB. I have checked storage policy settings etc but have not been able to find the reason for this difference in numbers. What else can I check i.e., logs etc to help me find out why there is such a huge difference? I will be grateful for any pointers/advice. Thank you.   

Hello Community After updating CV to 2022E we are no longer able to choose VMs and Templates when we restore Guest file and folders.The only thing we can choose when choosing restore to virtual machine is the VM Cluters.Some people get the source VM chosen by default others only get an empty box and is forced to browse for the VM.Any ideas as to how we can fix this?

Hello,has anyone ever tried to send the library description in a library offline alert?This is no problem in client or subclient alerts, but I don't see any way to send this with libraries as well.The Notification Tokens don't seem to have a selection for this either

Hello, TeamI am getting the error below on majority of jobs running.I have checked the storage end and also the media agents (The LUNS are attached to the Media Agent) Everything looks good.What could be the cause of the error.  Failed to mount the disk media in library [ARCHIVE_DISKPROD] with mount path [B:\Archive_DiskLibrary\MP10] on MediaAgent [hq_media_svr3]. Operation could not be completed in timeout interval. Please check the following: 1. Library and drive is functioning correctly. 2. Library and Drive management services are running. 3. All other MediaAgent services are running. 4. The time out period on the Expert Storage Configuration Properties Window in the CommCell Console. 5. Cleaning media in Assigned Media Group.          I have try to restore Oracle database while restoring I found the error. The detail error is below. Has anyone ever encountered an incident like this?Database : 10g Release 2Error code : ORA-27191Description : sbtinfo2 returned errorCause : sbtinfo2 returned an error. This happens while retrieving backup file information from the media manager’s catalog.Action: This error is returned from the media management software which is linked with Oracle. There should be additional messages which explain the cause of the error. This error usually requires contacting the media management vendor.Thank you.

Hello all! I am trying to simplify installing agents for DBA’s and other app teams. I have created custom packages that can run silently, but by default I cannot assign things like storage policy to the specific agent. For example, an MSSQL custom package will install but no storage policy is assigned. What I’d like to do: DBA takes a custom package, runs the installer in “silent install” mode, server registers to the commserve. Storage policy is assigned to the discovered DB instancesClient computer group is assigned (which has a schedule connected to it) Ideally run a first full backup after install completes (that’s a low priority) Pulls latest client updates - maybe executes a workflow on itself? (I know I’m dreaming)Is there a way to customize the install.xml file in the installer? Hello friends,I need your kind help, I must make backups of some SQL Server databases and the strategy is to make them daily, weekly and monthly, but this does not allow me to create BackupSets for this purpose; and the databases that I register in a subclient removes them from the other subclients, is there any way I can continue with my daily, weekly and monthly strategy?It is to clarify that each daily, weekly and monthly backups are going to different tapes and also have a different retention. Thanks for any help you can give me. 😁

HiI am trying to run a backup of a VM and snap copy of the data store i have added the Nimble array (think this has been done correctly but as the Intellisnap documentation is so poor not 100% sure it has been added correctly if honest) everytime it runs, it gets to 15% and then displays the following message. “ Error Code: [32:392]Description: Failed to map snapshot to host. : [VendorId [ATA ] for device [\\?\PhysicalDrive1] is not matching for Nimble and hence skipping this device.VendorId [ATA ] for device [\\?\PhysicalDrive2] is not matching for Nimble and hence skipping this device.VendorId [HPE ] for device [\\?\PhysicalDrive0] is not matching for Nimble and hence skipping this device.]Source: jupe, Process: vsbkp”searching the error code does not help as the only meaning full answers i get say about upgrading the index server to V2 (it is already at V2) and something about an AD server which this isn’t.ESX is 7.0.3Commvault is 11.24.7 windows MA

We have a tape library with two drives, Is it possible to have two secondary copies aimed to this same tape library and to start two auxiliary copies at the same time? My desired goal is to have at final two tapes with the same data so way to keep one of them on another safe offsite location. 

Hi, We noticed that some Full backup jobs are missing for one of our PostgreSQL clients.Those are the Full backup jobs for the months: February, March, April, May and August.  Doing another query including aged data we have:These Full backup jobs with one or more errors completed with errors that our DBA team recognized as harmless, but Does the Commvault software not honor extended retention time for backup jobs completed with errors? This may explain why we didn't find the Full backup jobs for the months mentioned above and, In this case, the backups jobs for the months of April and August will expire soon.   

We recently upgraded our Physical cluster to a Virtual Cluster.  In doing this we had to have the have the windows cluster with shared SCSI Bus for it to Failover.  We have no way to get around that.  CV does not back the VMs up with the following error.  “Virtual machine [Blah] is configured with shared virtual disks. Snapshot operations are not supported for shared disks. Use an in-guest agent to protect virtual machines with shared disks.”  I had opened a ticket with CV and they stated this is because the Snapshot can’t be created and recommended a Windows File System iDA.  My question is does anyone have any recommendations for a solution to get this cluster backed up, that is easy to restore onto our appliance in a Disaster situation?  I am guessing that would be an in-guest agent or the Windows File System iDA, but I honestly don’t know what that means or how to accomplish that.  Any suggestions would be great as we are hanging in the wind with these not getting backed up.  I wil

Hi, I have a customer who really needs to verify every SQL backup after it’s done. The person involved here is a DBA and he won’t have access to Commserve computer, the only access he would have is to Command Center interface with privileges limited only the servers he is administering.There is an option to run this using good old java console but it’s a manual job and it can only be accessed from java GUI as far as I know. I’m aware you can schedule it so it’s option no. 1. but there is no way to control this from Command Center nor there is to schedule it after every database backup, so it’s not good enough approach here.Is there a better way to set this up to run after every backup of particular SQL instances and ideally send an e-mail to the DBA of whether it succeeded or not? Any ideas would appreciated!

Hi I have this Commvault Live Sync setup, that have been setup for some years back.
