vm replication to azure

I have on prem vmware which need to be replicated to azure and we have regular backup set for all the vm’s.I have a media agent and storage in azure confgurued. I added azure in commserv using managed identity.i created replication group and selected periodic replication and in the target i selected the added azure vm hypervisor. It asked me to select a access node so i chose the media agent in azure for that.Now the replication is failing bcoz i can see its trying to backup using the of media agent in azure and it doesnt have access to on prem vm.i selected access node as auto still same, why the target access node being used to backup production vm. what i need is the backup of on prem vm should use on prem access node to backup and whatever operation in the azure side should use azure vm access nodeis this possible?do i need use orchestrated replication in this case ?

[URGENT] Old Exchange Backup Restore Problem

Hey Guys! (CV240229-614 Incident already open, but no helpfull results so far)We need to restore mailboxes from 2015. We made in the past a HW SNAP, and copied the SNAP to Tape, where we have the Data now.When i start the Browse, open the Information store, all DBs have the Size 0kb, but that should be normal in this case.After i selected a DB file and started the recover database job, it goes instantly fail without doing anything. Additional Tenant

Hi,I am using Metallic to backup an O365 Tenant.Can I add a second tenant and start backing up it straight away ? the second tenant is a mix of user & shared mailboxes so will these new user mailboxes just take from my current Tenant mailbox license pool? Thanks

Fetching job history for the 24 hours issue

I am working on a code to fetch all jobs for a spesific client group and count each job status so that I can preprare a report to display all jobs status for the last 24 hours. But “lookup_time” is not working as expected, less job fetched. Even changed the time for the lookup_time with different hours but the output is alwasy the same. I think lookup_time is not working as it should. Do you have any idea why it is not working ?   jobs_last24hours = job.finished_jobs(client, lookup_time=24)

Does anyone have a quick rundown on what methods to use to set the httpclient methods and execute?I know it goes something like so : import commvault.cte.workflow.activities.HttpClient;def httpclient = new HttpClient(); But then what next? How do I set the http method, headers and, and url?

Azure account on resource pools

Hey Guys, As an MSP we like to use Resource Pool for M365. But I get slighly confused by the option to add a Azure account for Sharepoint:Under Additional settings in https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/essential/adding_resource_pool.html For the Office 365 and Sharepoint Online solution type, in the Azure storage account, enter the name of the Azure storage account that you want to use for restores. For the Office 365 and Sharepoint Online solution type, in the Azure storage account key, enter the account key. What is “the Azure storage account” for a MSP with multiple customers in their own tenants?What limitation if not used? RegardsDaniel

MFA / Microsoft Authenticator bypass ?

Hello team!In case of enabling mfa for ALL users / groups, Im wondering if there is any “backdoor” for admin user.In case of lost Microsoft Authenticator app and email access, is there any way to restore access to Commcell, even with help of Commvault supoprt?I cant decide if it’s preferred to enable mfa for all admins (master) users or to leave one admin user without mfa (with a strong password) in case of backdoor.Please for your thoughts.

Selective copy that shoud copy yearly Fulls to tape not waiting for the expected jobs

Hello,I created a selective copy that shoud copy yearly Fulls to tape. it is scheduled to be executed on January 2025 to copy the last fulls of December 2024 But something is not clear for me. Based on the configuration and what I understand,all the last full backups that will be performed on December 2024 should be copied to tape at launch via the schedule policy. (expected on January 2025) Here is the detailed configuration Storage Policy Copies : Storage Policy Copy Properties [General]  Storage Policy Copy Properties of [Selective Copy] Schedule policy   Why on this copy, I see that is on the Media Not CopiedWhen I click on Media Not copied, I see that some media needs to be copied from the Primary even if we are not at the end of the year 2024 and the schedule doesn’t happen yet (schedule is planned for January 2025 to copy last full of December 2024) Media Not copied list Detail of V_30450 Detail of V_30450I see that some jobs are waiting for copy but that jobs have been run on 2

Tape Library Cartrige Bad Media Write Protected

Hi thereWe have Commvault 11.28.102 and have just added a tape library.Under STORAGE\Tape I managed to add the tape, but when I go to slots I can see there that my brand new Tape is marked as Bad Media and the reason that I got is Write Protected.Please advise.Thank you

Hi,we are on 11.20 and want to move the Analytics Index to a new location.According to https://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11_sp20/article?p=93146.htmwe need the Workflow IndexServerDirectoryMove but i cannot find it in the Store.We have an Workflow AnalyticsIndexDirectoryMove which is from 2015, but it generate an error about CoreID not found. Is the documentation wrong ?!?!Could someone send me the xml File of the Workflow ?!RegardsPeter

Our devops team have a test that validates the commvault client group with below powershell command../qoperation execscript -sn GetClientGroup.sql -si cg=$group | Select-string -Pattern "^$(hostname)$"They execute that command inside the E:\\Program Files\\CommVault\\Simpana\\Base.The file 'GetClientGroup.sql' no longer seems to be in the E:\\Program Files\\CommVault\\Simpana\\Base folder. So our test is failing.Do you have any idea on how we can validate commvault client group via powershell or any other way.Thank you!!

Hello, What is best practise to add onedrive,teams apps to commvault through vpn express tunnel? Do i need to create private endpoint first and how to configure the routing through the endpoint? Now commvault trying to connect through the public address.  I can add package through custom configuraton but failed on authorize app, If i use expres configuration with global user its saying that username/passwoord not correct

Creation Authtoken and accepting it

Hi Team, I'm very new to the Rest API, but I was only able to create an authtoken :) As far as I learned, when the authtoken is created, the max. It can be used for 30 days. After this period, it is necessary to create a new authtoken and use the new authtoken. We are thinking something like this, Is it possible to do this?We are trying to create a powershell script, this script will create a new authtoken every time it runs and will automatically use the new authtoken, then we will be able to GET the information we want from Commvault. Unable to log into Commvault

Hi Folks,First, many thanks for the information here. I’ve solved a lot of issues just reading answers found here.Ok, here’s the rundown. We changed the Commcell service account password on the AD side. We thought we went into Commcell Console and updated the credential there. Everything was working fine, until a short time later and now we cannot login using our AD account (If I’m reading correctly, is that because the service account can no longer connect to the AD for an LDAP lookup?)Looking into the EvMgrS.log I can see this entry### EvSecurityMgr::userLogin() - processAdUser returned [-105], "Failed to connect to the domain server.
