I have a storage policy for MS SQL backups. The retention is 21 days, but the transaction log backups do not expire after 21 days. I run the Data Retention Forecast report and it shows those log backups are not expiring because of SQL LOG RULE. I’ve read the documentation and none of it seems to apply. I have other storage policies for SQL and this isn’t an issue. This is the only storage policy with this behavior. Anyone have any ideas of what to check?

Simple question.Is there any way to update the display name of the an activity through the script api?

I need to limit bandwidth usage to 50% during 8am-5PM for AUX copies.  What is the best way to accomplish this? I am planning to select the source media agent and the destination media agents under the properties of the source media agent.  Then I will configure the rules to only use 50% usage during 8am-5PM.   What all does this impact?  The destination media agents are used for multiple other copies coming from different media agents and I do not want them to be limited. Really just looking for confirmation that if I setup the throttling on the source media agent and select the destination media agents in addition to the source that it will only impact the AUX Copy between these source and destination and will not throttle any backups running to the source media agent or any other media agents writing to the destination media agents.

We have the requirement in our company that all Mgmt interfaces/IP’s must be protected by a firewall. For HSX this includes the IP where sshd, http Admin GUI is running. But this seems not to be possible in our setup.We can not protect the DP network with firewall as there will also be backup traffic. So we decided to used 2 different VLAN’s on one of the two LACP channels.Overall we have 3 VLANs/networks configured on 2 LACP channels. 2 VLANs are configured on a trunk.Storage-Pool: not routed - no problem - on LACP 1 with 2 x 25G Data-Protection: should be used for communication with other Commvault servers and clients to back up - on LACP 2 with 2 x 25G Mgmt: used for sshd / http - on LACP 2 with 2 x 25G But according to documentation for Reference Architecture only one network can be routable. Hi,in the situation where a customer has a retention policy in SharePoint online to keep everything for 10 yrs.and they have been using Commvault to backup SharePoint online.When they move from using Commvault to Metallic, does the Metallic backup also capturing all the items that would have been deleted from SharePoint online but its still held under the O365 retention policy?would this also be the same for Exchange online if the emails where deleted by a user but they still there due to the O365 retention policy?

Hello, We have CommServe Version: 11.24.34 and Nutanix AHV cluster with AOS 5.15.1.1 LTS We want to upgade this Nutanix AHV cluster to AOS 5.20.5.3 LTS version I would like to know if Commvault software is compatible with this version of Nutanix Cluster I saw this documentation and it seems to be compatible. Hi, I have a case where customer is preventing user access using IMAP/POP to Google mail. Since Commvault is using IMAP to download e-mails it cannot work unless customer will enable IMAP access. There is a way in Google to do this selectively, specifically it can be narrowed to Oauth client IDs. I’m not sure if Commvault cloud app client uses Oauth at all, but I kind of wish for it.So my question is this: does Commvault cloud app client have any Oauth ID which a customer may use to restrict IMAP access for Commvault only? If so, where can it be found?

Dear all,we are running an 11.25 platform with a mix of Windows and Linux servers so we have installed two FREL to enable granular restore. Few days ago one of the FRELs just disappeared from the availability list, I mean it doesn’t appear anymore in the dedicated combo-box in the “Browse and Restore Options” dialog.The Linux machine is regularly up and running.Is there any way to recover it’s presence? Thank you in advance for your helpGaetano

Hello.The Commserve server you are currently using has Commserve version 11 Servicepac8 installed (OS is Windows 2016)Error message 'Error: Failed to install IIS Server Roles 2012 (IIS Server Roles 2012) with error code 0x80070422.' occurred during Commvault SerivcePack 20 upgrade.IIS 10.0 is currently installed on that server, and the Windows update service is running normally.Is there a way to install IIS Server Roles 2012 separately?Or if there is another solution, please share it.Thank you.

Hello, I want to performe VSA upgrade to V2. We using 2 Vcenters with V1 indexing. What are the steps i need to do before using workflow VSA V1> V2 Do i need to add new vcenter first and then use the workflow? And what about the usage of storage. Do i need to have the same amount free storage that used for one Vcenter backup

hi, I was recently discussing with a customer.Their wish is to backup a Datastores files only like the folder marked red in below screenshot:this data is not presented to VM so I did not know of a way to do this.is there any way to backup that specific folder via a VSA backup?or will we need to present the data in a different way? thanks and kind regards,Thos Gieskes.

Hi All, maybe you have an idear. We had 2 GDSPs in the enviroment which gets the status resync scheduled.  The Daily DDB Verifiy jobs running fine without any problem.  The Status of the DDbs is chaning from different time. An DDb Restore was not started.   Do you have an idear ?
