Hi,we backup a File Server in China with Inc. On Saturday there is synth Full.The Aux Copy of the Synt Full ( 1.8 TB )( to Germany is really slow.Can i schedule the Synt Full on the secondy Storage Policy ?In China always incremental, aux copy to germany and then in germany the Synt Full.We need a full for the tape backups.RegardsPeter Rupp

Is there any reason we are doing the Double Dedupe for Aux Copy(DASH Copy)? What is the benefits for us.   

I have configured sql live sync, and there is a schedule configured to be performed after the backup job completes,Everything is going fine but suddenly the sync operation converted to full restore without any change in the source server also there is no change occurred in destination side so i am asking about this behavior as its not logic to change to full restore with out any change !Commserve,Sql clients & MA version is 11.23..

 Hi,I am getting an indexing error on some Oracle RAC instances. The job automatically retries and manages to complete the indexing the second or third time. The problem does not occur on all instances but only on some. I have verified that it shows up on both RAC v.11 and v.12 clients. Hi All,I tried to move 330 client with file system agent from one plan to another one associated with another gridstor.i tried not to do this manually, i have found the REST API PUT plan clients Commvault Rest API - Public that can update associations for one client.it is possible to use this API for a computer group ? Kind regards,Christophe

Hi, We run for some client backups with 30 day retention.For audit purposes we run every 3 months a Backup Summary Report over the last 90 monthsBut only the last 30 days show up. Makes sense in a way as jobs are aged.Is there a way to have also the information of the other 60 days for which the jobs are already aged?We only need to know how many backups have run and how many of them were successful.I already had a look at the setting in the "Data Aging” tab under “Media Agent” in the "Control Panel” but this seems to be default and for most rules keeps 90 days of history.  thanksDanny PS We know we can run it every month but we are looking for the simplest way.

I’ve looked at the list of destinations for cloud library and didn’t find Azure Gov. Cloud. We currently use Azure but will move to Azure Gov Cloud.Can I create a Cloud library in Azure Gov by just choose Azure and change the url? Or isn’t Azure Gov Supported as destination? BRHenke

Does anyone know of a method to show only ‘Un-selected’ within the alert wizard for ‘Data Protection’ jobs under the ‘Job Management’ Category? I see the checkbox for ‘Show only selected’ under the ‘Entities Selection’ section, but I am looking for the inverse of this to show all backup clients that have been unselected instead. This is to make sure that we are not missing any backup clients for alerting that have previously been deselected from this alert definition. Thank you

We have NDMP Multi Streaming backups enabled, however, not all subclients meet the criteria, specifically the directory size over 20GB factor;Multi Stream: Successfully determined contents of path [<info_redacted>]. FileCount:[32] DirectoryCount:[3204]1632  12dc  10/10 12:31:41 3127 Multi Stream: Volume [<info_redacted>] with size [4498793623552] and directory count [3204] has average directory size [1404117860.034956] less than [20 GB] (21474836480 bytes).Will be run on single stream as traditional NDMP backup.Is there an additional setting that allows the criteria to be ignored and thus multi stream?I am thinking sNDMPUseNetAppAutoStream , however, I believe this is just to overwrite the Java GUI settings and force Multi Streaming on subclients where it has not been enabled from the subclient properties.Thanks in advanced

Hi,I’m trying to configure the O365 mailbox backup, which using Azure AD. From BOL (FR20), I understands that the configuration only from Command Center. But there is also configuration from CommCell console below the topic. The reason why I want to configure through Console is that I want to use existing storage policy. If I configure through Command Center, I need to create a plan, which also require its own ddb. I don’t have any disk for new ddb, hence I want to use existing SP with ddb.So can I follow the console configuration (which got lot more steps), or I can only configure through CommandCenter?regards,Fauzi

Are there any command line (qscript?) methods to query the state of a MediaAgent (on-line/maintenance mode)?From time to time things get busy at the end of a maintenance window and the MA is stranded in maintenance mode. I’d like to scan all MAs at the end of the business day and flag any that are in maintenance mode, or put them into service.Thanks.Marc

When I try to restore any database that was backed up using Commvault / Intellisnap operation, I get an error indicating the disk is in Read Only mode.The snap is presented to the cluster node - seen by Windows Disk Management and Diskpart The Cluster Management doesn’t see the disk, so I can’t put in maintenance mode The cluster.exe is nolonger available in Server 2016 I need to put the disk in maintenance mode to allow the CV restore to proceedDoes anyone have an exact powershell script or method to finish this process?Is there another way to restore SQL databases to the Cluster Source disk if it was backed up using snapshots???

Good morning all I’ve had a strange request from a customer and I don’t know if it can be actioned.We run SQL agent backups on a set schedule and restore DB’s as one normally would. The DBA would like to know if there is a way to take the DB backup we have and restore it as a *.bak flat file. The reason for the request is that disk space on the client is constrained anda *.bak file will be compressed.Thanks in advance. Regards,Mauro

Good morning allI”m using a Plan to configure backup policies, etc.I would like to disable the option to do Incremental backups and only run Fulls. I’ve not been able to do this within the Plan. I need to go into the GUI and disable it in the Schedule.The Plan does update with an ‘invalid data’ error, which isn’t a massive issue. However, I’d prefer to use a Plan setting to disable this. Am I missing something?I’ve attached a copy of my current setting and not made the chante yet.  

I’m in a similar situation as kszaf.  Running FR 11.24 and have 5 .NET CORE and ASP .NET CORE installs of version 2.1.xx.  Our vulnerability scanner (Qualys) is showing them as critical vulnerabilities, so I went ahead and uninstalled them since it sounds like 11.24 should support 3.1.x. Rebooted and couldn’t access the Web Console.  Installed the .NET 2.1.30 Hosting Bundle and the Web Console works again.  I’ll probably put in a support ticket on Monday to see about how to remove those older versions properly.  The screenshot shows the ones I tried removing.  

Hi,When opening the subclient settings for an SQL server the Block Size and Maximum transfer Size are grayed out. Only Buffercount can be altered.Any idea on how to change the grayed out values?Sql version is 2016Commserve is at 11.22.41Thanks in advance,Kris

 A customer is protecting Oracle running in a failover cluster between Solaris Local Zones. Customer is currently using TSM and want to switch to Commvault. In TSM the Oracle databases are protected with the Oracle Agent running in the Solaris Global Zone only, there is no agent in the Clustered Local Zones. This means that no matter in which Local Zone the Ora DB is running the backup and restores will work without setting this up as cluster client. The question is if this is possible in a Commvault setup or if we are required to install the agent in each Local Zone and then configure the cluster client in a traditional way.  Appreciate if anyone has experience of a similar setup has any input if this is at all possible and if so any  pros & cons.Regards,/Patrik

I have a quick question. There is a customer I am currently proposing, and they say that they are using mysql 8.0, use pluggable authentication as their authentication method, and use SHA256 encryption. (https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/8.0/en/sha256-pluggable-authentication.html) Does Commvault support the above environment?I looked for BOL, but it wasn't mentioned.

Can I have a 11.20 LTS iso or zip like it was for 11.16 LTS? Just one download and for Windows only? Thank you.
