Hello, good morning, how are you?I wanted to share a problem I'm facing in a client's Commvault environment.Their Commvault only does DR, it's currently on version 11.32, replication is done from VMware on-premise as the source to Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE) as the destination. There's a machine that hasn't replicated for a long time because it can't back up due to the problem below.Erro code [91:460]Unable to create a snapshot on virtual machine [] because another task is already running on the virtual machine. The job will got to pending and be retried.I don't understand what it could be, the machine can't do full or incremental backups, we've already looked in VMware and there are no paralyzed tasks, in the replication monitor it has the SLA status as "not met" and the status is "Sync Enabled".If you could help, I would be very grateful. The machine hasn't replicated for over 5 days.

 Hello Commvault Community,I am new to using Commvault at my company and still trying to understand many aspects of the software. Recently, I received an email titled "Maintenance Release Availability Notice" (see attached image). I would appreciate it if someone could help me understand what these types of emails entail and what hotfixes are.As a beginner, I am not very familiar with the terminology and processes involved. From what I have gathered, maintenance releases seem to include updates and fixes, but I am not sure how they differ from regular updates. Additionally, I would like to know more about hotfixes and their importance in maintaining the software.Thank you in advance for your assistance!Best regards,João Savioli 

We are having a storage issue where we have defined the time range for when the storage is corrupt, and we need to delete the jobs in the storage.We have a list in a text file of all the jobs.How can we loop the file into a qcommand or qscript to delete only those jobs?These jobs are stopping auxcopy from running.Thanks.

Hello Team,I am new to commvault so need your help in understanding the restore steps for MS SQL database in AG.My requirement is to restore one of the production DB which is in AG to its UAT environment. The UAT database is also in AG. we will be overwriting the existing database on UAT while performing restore. Please suggest what will be the steps.

How can I restore a SQL database without using a .bak file? When I attempt to restore the database to disk or to an out-of-place location, the restore process generates a .bak file. I'm not sure how to restore the database as a regular database file with its associated transaction logs. Documentation hasn't provided any clear guidance. Can anyone help? Thanks!

I Open command center and go to reports, then Backup Summary. I modify the default to only show the critical servers I want to check each morning. I save it as a view then go to schedule and create  job schedule to run daily. That works great, but if I decide to modify anything in the existing view, it seems like I have to delete everything and start over. Is there a way to modify a view? In the commcell job scheduler the edit is grayed out on the scheduled job I have created. It just is frustrating to have to start from scratch every time I want to add a server change anything

Hi ALL,Our client want that when we run a restore of a server from Site A to Site B the restore network speed should be 200 MB/hour. Is this possible in Commvault.I know that we can use Throttle Network Bandwidth at client level but not sure if enabling this will throttle restore job or not??Please help if there is any way that we can throttle network bandwidth for Restore Job??

Good morning folks,We want to know if there is a possibility to add the column ‘DNS GUEST HOSTNAME’ in the jop summary backup report of virtual machine backups.We have checked the reports from Commcell Console and Command Center but this field does not exist.We have versions 11.32.65 and 11.36.46 and it is not in either of them.Thanks,Regards

Hello Team,  I hope everyone is doing well.  I am trying to find what Aux Copies have fallen behind.  I used the instructions found on Google (see below).  I do not see the report.   Please review the instructions and let me know where I can find the report.  Here's a more detailed breakdown:Log on to the Web Console: Access the Commvault Web Console.  Navigate to Reports: Click on the "Reports" option to access the available reports.  Select the "Aux Copy - Fallen Behind Storage Policies" Report: Choose this specific report from the list to view the required information. Thank you in advance. Regards, 

 I created three subcient in file system and created schedule policies. But backup job is not running as per their schedule policies. job history is not found there of all backup jobs.I have attached some images. Please check this and tell solving process.

Hello,I have a Live sync environment - Is there a procedure for a service pack upgrade without downtime? the only option I can see is to upgrade while still having restore only option - https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/expert/installing_platform_releases_on_commserve_livesync_setup.htmlIs there a procedure where I can also continue the backups? I backup my VMs in sub clients and once and I while I will get a failure due to “insufficient free space available to create snapshot”. Sometimes I try to move things around on a datastore or try to do an extension but the storage team does not always appreciate it. I found I can just lower the threshold in the sub client and the next backup works fine.  Am I losing anything by doing this or making anything less sufficient? It is much easier for me to fix it on my side than debate with another team but is this health in the long run? 

I just want to list all servers that were backed up in the last 30 days. Preferably just the VMs. I just want o compare what is backed up vs what i download from my active VMware VCenters. Is it possible to list just the servers without  all the storage policy and schedule info in a report?

Hello,Current Infra CommCell 11.36.41 Linux on COmmserve & HSXI'm going to get closer to Commvault to have an answer but in the meantime I want to share my questions here.I am working on an interested project to :add redundancy on the dedicated Command Center (HA) Allow access to end user teams to perform cross restore tests etc …I have some requirements from SOC  :the API endpoint must be protected by API Managet like TYK the API calls must be secured by MFADoes Commvault support the use of an API Gateway like TYK ?Does anyone now if we can implement MFA over API ?Thanks ! 

God day! I deleted some backup jobs to get the Air Gap usage below the purchased capacity again.  How soon will this be reflected in the  “Storage Utilization By Application - Report” and the “Usage summary”? Right now both views show indeed different figures for holt and cold storage. Thanks, Chris

Hi All,We are using the File Agent on our Windows File servers to archive data, to free up disk space, so that it leaves a stub behind to allow the users to open the file if they need to. Over time due to mergers and acquisitions the client may have changed so we now have data archived under a number of clients. This means that when we need to restore and rehydrate the data back to the current client or perform an out of place restore to another client we have to:Restore the stub files from the backupset. Run the gxhsmutility against the stub files to create a mapfile. This creates a map file with each subclient ID number. Run a restore from each of the corresponding archiveset subclient IDs of the original clients that the data was archived under.We are finding that when we have to recover a large amount of data which has been archived the mapfile can be very large and using the mapfile crashes the Commvault software. helloWe have a dag and we backup it using the exchange database agent.when i try to do mailbox restore and i try to browse the mailboxes i cant see all of them, and if i try to do in place restore to the one that doesnt show up it fails and says it cant find the mailbox.

HelloWe are using exchange database agent to backup the dag.We have the next setting enabled:"Optimize for message level recovery".Now when we try to restore messages it only gives us an option to restore as a pst file. Is there a way to restore directly to the mailbox?

Hi.  I looked in the community for this situation but couldn't find it exactly.  I'm using the Commcell Console on my Azure virtual desktop (Windows 10 Enterprise).  The AVD is in the central US region and my desktop shows that it is in the US central time zone (UTC - 6 hours).  Times for all jobs in the Job Controller, Restore History, Backup History, and the Schedule next run time are all showing as UTC.  On my laptop, also in US central time zone, when I view the same Job Controller, Restore History, Backup History, and schedules, the times are all properly displaying as US central time.  I tried clearing the cache on my Java (version 8, update 231) but it didn't make a difference.  I have one coworker with the same conditions and another who seems to be unaffected.  Any suggestions? Thanks! 

my company has the comvault Version: 11.32.73 with licenses:capacity license: Commvault Backup and Recoveryuser license: Endpoint Users 20I want my backups to be archived on the fujitsu eternus lt20 s2 tape drive. do I need an additional license for archiving? backups are made on QNAP storage 7TB
