Sorry for all the questions!I’m seeing Metallic Accounts in Azure Active Directory - Just wanted to know what these accounts are used for and can they be deleted without affecting anything.They start with CVEXBackupAccount then some numbers but are my organizations email address? 

I have data on MRR which is currently connected to a on-prem Commcell, unfortunately my capacity is full.Can I migrate this data to another MRR subscription that’s linked to my Metallic subscriptions?

When I try to backup Azure Database for MySQL flexible server, I select add cloud DB instance, it have not show the db to let me select…anything I’m still missing in configuration?  or flexible server is not supported? more info:tried standalone azure db for mysql and backup is success. backup server deployed on Azure, in same subscription. version: 11.28 using app id, grant right on subscription level with contributor tried grant right on resourcegroup level also also tried VM managed identity with mentioned right  

Hello everyone,I have both physical and virtual servers in my environment, vms are hosted on esxi.Recently I installed wamp server on one windows vm and configured the backup for complete windows server via commcell and it’s running fine but I could only see file level backup while I also need for mysql database which is a part of wamp server so that i could recover any accidentally deleted database in bad case.NOTE: unlike other physical windows servers where I installed commvault agent in windows server and configured file system backup and mysql backup instances seperately, everything works fine. While in the case of windows vm, I cannot see mysql instance after expanding the vm name in commcell console client computers. do i need to configure mysql backup instance seperately like what i did for physical server? what exactly am i missing?Any help will be appreciated.Attached the screenshots for more clarity

Hi, We are trying to restore a backup job from SharePoint Online, and we have successfully managed to run the backup job. However, we encounter the following error when attempting to restore. [Error decrypting password] We have tried restoring back to SharePoint Online, to the proxy server, and to a SharePoint on-premises SE server. Unfortunately, we receive the same error message regardless of where we try to restore to.Does anyone have any tips or suggestions? Thanks!

Can someone help explain what this means to a rookie commvaulter.  We just upgraded to 11.28 and I notice we are getting the following WARNING:Program - CVMA  Description - WARNING: The S3 bucket [cvcloudbackup] is versioning enabled, but the current credential may not have s3:ListBucketVersions permission to list versioned objects for deletion.Im guessing something has changed within 11.28.x version? or ?  thanks - BC

we are testing if backup can be deleted using RMAN command , external pruning is disabled but still delete backup from RMAN is successfull , how to verify it is deleting the backup? is there anyway we can see if any deleted action perfromed from external

Correct?What does it mean in the Docs where they say:“If you do not use service accounts, the following is true”, then different things are “marked as” user mailboxes, shared mailboxes etc.What does it mean “marked as”? Where is it marked? For what purpose is it marked?What is the difference in “marking” with and without a service account?  

Hi,i have made a upgrade from Maintenance-Release 66 to 69 with no errors. But since then i don’t get any current data from the healt report in the admin console.The data ist still as of 14.06.Does anyone know the problem?Kind regardsFranz 

Hi, I have a customer who is undergoing a cloud transformation.They currently have a 6-node HyperScale X cluster with approximately 40 % used it with long-term retention. The goal is to migrate all long-term retention to Metallic and reduce the number of nodes from 6 to 3 in order to use the evacuated nodes and create another cluster in another site.Is this easily achievable?Thank you.

Hello,is there a report where i can see how many tapes are needed within a week including compression?We are considering using worms for archiving purposes and i would like to know how many tapes i need for that.RegardsDennis

Hello Metallic Community,I am currently researching a comprehensive data protection solution for our Azure VMware Solution (AVS) environment. While evaluating different backup solutions, Metallic caught my attention due to its cloud-based nature, potentially offering a seamless integration with our mostly cloud-based components.However, in the course of my research, I found information suggesting that AVS primarily supports the hotadd transport mode for data protection. Given this, I'm trying to understand if it's mandatory to have a proxy within the AVS environment to perform backups.To provide some context, I'm considering setting up our backup server (potentially Azure MABS or Metallic Backup Gateway /Metallic MA) within a dedicated VNet. This setup aims to isolate our internet-facing devices in a separate VNet. The plan is to establish connectivity to AVS via ExpressRoute, allowing our backup solution to interact with the AVS vCenter,  take snapshots, transfer the data to a local d

Background:Apparently the “Commserve_DR_Disk” and Primary/Secondary copies are created automatically during certain CommVault installation/setup steps….We are attempting to retire an old disk library and there’s still some data on it that commvault will not age off (I may have to create a ticket for some of it). I could force/delete it but I’m also trying to have it clean up “nicely/cleanly”.  One of the larger blocks of data appears to be some DR backups that are attached to the ‘Primary” copy.  I did some digging by running the “Data Retention Forecast and Compliance Report” and it appears that this data (~10 TB) is hanging around due to “Managed Disk Space Option Enabled for Prunable Job on Disk Media”. I checked the Primary copy and yep, the “Enable managed Disk Space for Disk Library” has been checked. i assume tahts teh setting causing the extended retention.Questions:Is “Enable managed Disk Space for Disk Library” checked by default by commvault when it creates/builds the Commse

Hello!Customer has this TL that is partitioned. There's a partition for Commvault. Originally it had 11 slots and some drives.Customer added 30 slots but they don't get recognized by Commault (and so the tapes on them).Full scan does not update the slot count.What must be done to recognize the new added slots?Regards,Pedro 

On all of our storage plans we have an auxiliary copy that is uploaded to an S3 bucket, we have been doing some DR scenario testing recently which has involved  failing over to our CS server in AWS.How does the indexing work when doing a browse and restore operation? We have no index server in AWS however for the restores i’ve tested (when using the S3 data copies) it appears to be running a restore job & completing successfully, is the indexes stored in the s3 buckets?

My exchange backups are running long again like they did when I first started backing up. My backup health is at 76%.Does anyone know why this would happen?

I’m trying to restore a OneNote notebook and it’s not restoring in Teams. The error suggests to check “Notes.ReadWrite.All” permissions in my Azure app and I’ve confirmed that the permission is there and valid.

Hello,Trying to test Azure file share backup and restore from on-prem Commcell using MA on Azure.Adding a new content group and browse the content of the storage account gives no results even though content is there ( on zure side ).Credentials were set properly ( Account name  + Access key ) and the file sahre entiity can be accessed.  Any ideas ? Thanks

Hello, One of our customers approached us with a PostgreSQL cluster (active-standby). How can we best set up the backup here, since Commvault cannot create a backup from standby.Kind RegardsThomas

So I created a job summary report from the commcell GUI, filling in all items abd adding it to be scheduled. The report is created a a CONSOLE report. But when I look at the result in the scheduler it’s been, magically or by commvaults visdom, changed to be a job summary webreport. Nothing noticed me about the change and in the GUI there is a specific selection to create a Job Summary as a web report.Where can I find the announcement of this change?? The web report contains loads of informatiuon I don’t need, so now I have to go and build a new customized web report? Where as the GUI report had an easy click “summery” I need to create a new report with just that info.If anyone can point me to that “one button” on the web report I’d much appreciate it. I understand that Commvault is trying to make things easier and more streamline, but that defenetly is causing issues in some areas, specificlly if one is used to the more granular control of the environment.BRHenke
