We are currently on version 11.20 and I want to install the version 11.28Currently, the commserve and the SQL Server and the Media Agents are in version 12.Can we perform the upgrade directly on the current servers?Should we upgrade the SQL Server version from version 12 to version 16 on the Commserver which is in Windows 12 version?What is the best way to schedule our update?Thanks in advance.Best regards

we have a ovm manager in that 3 nodes are added , we created proxy in one of the node and we are able to backup vm in the same node and for vm in other nodes getting below error Unable to attach disks for virtual machine [arc-orauat-db] to the proxy. arget Repository: is not presented on server do we need proxy in each nodes ? do we need to configure ovm as one with ovm manager or adding hypervisor ip also we have oracle rac server with shared disk how to take full vm backup of both
installed intellisnap in one of the media agent , agent installed successfully and job got failed . now all media agents are up but i am not able enable the root account or cvbackupadmin of this media agent and i cannot login to any of the media agent using root but cvbackupadmin is able to login. i am not sure is it caused because intellisnap instllation ,i have attached log if some one can help

Team, need to know what is the best practice for NAS client configuration regarding the clusters/vservers.Scenario: Client has a netapp. CIFS/NFS will be used. Is best practice to configure the NAS client as the cluster and then add the vservers to it (under ‘storage virtual machines’) or to configure a NAS client for each vserver ? When configuring a NAS client for each vserver would there also need to be a NAS client for the cluster ?

Hello Commvault Community, Environment version: SP32I am now testing the 1-touch procedure for Laptops with Win10 Pro. The 1-touch process itself runs successfully, but I noticed that it doesn’t collect Commvault directories, so the machine was recreated using the 1-touch mechanism without the entire Commvault structure (C:\Program Files\Commvault\ContentStore is empty, there are no binaries there). I checked whether it was collecting data at the very beginning of the first Full Backup and the answer is - it isn’t collecting it. Backup is performed on the default subclient, so "/" is indicated in Content, which says that everything that can be backed up using the FS agent will be protected, but this doesn’t happen. Backup System State is also enabled, I haven't added any filters. The only thing that worries me is the fact that this is a newly created Backupset, because when a laptop is recognized as a Laptop, it is assigned a "Subclient Policy", which changes the Content for the defaul

Hello All. I’ve hardware refreshed a commserve on a new host. Build 11.32.23. I’ve installed a new media agent also at 11.32.23 and duplicated the packages installed in the old media agent it is eventually replacing. The old media agent has “Exchange Mailbox (Classic) ida” installed and is visible under the client in the commcell browser. The new media agent has ‘Exchange’ package installed; this is visible in the ‘properties > version’ tab. In the commcell console, commcell browser, under the client for the new media agent, I see some ida’s (fs ida, VSA ida) but not any Exchange ida. In the properties of the new media agent client, I select the option to release licenses, just to see what licenses are consumed, there is only fs and vsa. When I run an install software job for the new client, “Exchange” is greyed out so there is no ability to install. I am trying to create a workflow to run multiple VSA backups through workflow by just selecting the client from the list. For VSA backup it is not working. Same is working for File System level backup. Is there some limitation to run for VSA backup? If yes, what is the easiest way to achieve this. Hi,I want to do a Full System Restore using a FileSystem backup of a Windows server. Can this be done using Command Center? I don't find the options there that I have in the CommCell Console, like “Type of Intended Restore” (Full Virtual Machine), In Place yes / no and others. It's an Azure VM, but we have a reason to use the FS Agent for backup.Probably I am overlooking something.Thanks!

Hello team!In case of enabling mfa for ALL users / groups, Im wondering if there is any “backdoor” for admin user.In case of lost Microsoft Authenticator app and email access, is there any way to restore access to Commcell, even with help of Commvault supoprt?I cant decide if it’s preferred to enable mfa for all admins (master) users or to leave one admin user without mfa (with a strong password) in case of backdoor.Please for your thoughts.
We have a number of duplicated servers which show the server name with an appended number on the end but show up as duplicates in the console. An example is joebloggscs01 showing as joebloggscs01_2. Our 3rd party consultants say these are eating up licenses, even though they are showing as grey and deconfigured in the CommCell. We have a few servers showing like this and they have a job histories so I wasn't sure if they could be deleted because the job ID’s are not the same as the configured server, if that makes sense. Also in addition its showing as we have 261 servers licensed, when I deconfigured 10 servers to take it to 251, the Web Console report is still showing these servers as holding a license. is there a time lag at all as to when the report will reflect the true number. I have logged a ticket with support but like coming to the community as you guys have helped me in the past. Please HELP!! 😀 ThanksTonyQ
