Hi,today I observed, that putting all of my MediaAgents to Maintenance for specific site, caused scheduled backups to fail with: no access nodes online.I use the MediaAgents as AccessNodes for the Vmware installation in that site, and expected all jobs to go to waiting or queued state instead of failing.Is this the expected behavior? I did not deactivate backup activity on any client resource.Currently running on V11.32.28rgdsKlaus
Hi,I have an environment with a CommServe and six Media Agents. Now, we have been asked to add a new environment to our existing CommServe. However, we are unable to establish a direct connection between the two environments. As a solution, we have decided to use two Media Agents from the existing six as proxy gateways.These two Media Agents have interfaces that reside in the existing environment, and we have connected another interface to the new environment. We have also configured network pairing and added the clients to the hosts file.The problem arises when we try to add a new client (SLES 11 + Oracle). The process fails with the attached error.Could anyone help us identify the missing configuration?
Greetings! So we’re needing to boot the 1-touch ISO such that it sees a Cisco VIC using Fiber. I’ve injected the network drivers for Server 2016/19/22 into the boot.wim of a 11.24 WinPE 5.1 1-Touch recovery image, but no avail - the fiber nics aren’t seen. I’ll move to the Win10 disk and try that - but has anyone else had any luck seeing the VICs in Cisco UCS? Best wishes! Mike
We have noticed AppMgrSvC.exe are not releasing memory once allocated even the load on Commserve is minimal. We would like to know if its designed to use most the RAM available like SQL? We had to restart commvault services even 15days to reduce the memory utilization on Appmgrsvc.

Hi, we’re on 11.32.43. We are only able to keep our indexes for a week, since our subclient is so large that the indexes for it are 600GB. So of course that means that whenever one of our technicians needs to do a browse and restore from this subclient, they get the “Index reconstruction in progress. 1 jobs in reconstruction list" message.I cannot find documentation that states how to track progress of these index reconstruction jobs. They do not show in the Job Controller list like regular backup and restore jobs. We just want to have a location to look in so that when an index reconstruction completes, our technicians know it’s okay to try their browse and restore again. Thanks.

Hello everyone, We are creating a Server Backup Plan in CommandCenter that creates a plan and backup destination (storage pools for primary copy and secondary copy) and schedules. We select the schedule for full and incremental and plan creation completes successfully. We can copy the API code of the above tasks and see the JSON file that creates then we programmatically create backup plans in batch via PowerShell. When we review the schedule in Java client. We see that it creates Synthetic Full schedule as well but this is not visible in commandcenter. We cannot use Synthetic Full in our environment due to storage limitation.What do we need to add or remove to the JSON file command center creates for PLAN, and remove the Synthetic Full in the creation? Hi All,we have to backup a large number of VM on Xenserver.I created Windows proxy and added it as access node. i was able to backup windows & linux Vm with this.but when I went for Guest file level restore then it was asking for FREL enable ( for both Linux & Windows)Then i added another VM in same host with linux os and enabled it for FREL with media agent role and then Guest level restore worked for both.Now, I want to use only Linux VM as proxy and want to get rid of Windows at all, Can i do this?I do not see any option to add non-widows Proxy as access node in xen pseudo client in commvault.Does it means , i will have to keep one windows VM as proxy for backup & one linux VM for FREL? it would be great wastage of resources . please confirm and suggest any workaround.
we have a very large Windows File Sahre Server. the amount of data hosted on these 2-node Windows File-over Cluster is around 300TB of unstructured data files where the users accessing it via windows folder shares SMB.the installed CommVault file system agents are good in backing up these large data set using daily incrementals, de duplication, compression, synthetic fulls. we aim at introducing a DR solution for this very large file share service over WAN-link to another data center in another country.is there a way to quickly identify the changed files & also the access files using commvault agent/features (maybe FOlderWatcher.db,...) so to replicate these files on a daily basis oven WAN to another server ? thanks,

Too i've test the tool utility provided in the software however the error continue. The error i have is: Drive has been marked as inaccessible on this MediaAgent. Advice: Please use the troubleshooting utility provided in the software's installation folder to perform diagnostics on this device.Best regards.

Hello I tried to restore messages from Exchange DB and the job of persistent recovery stuck on 5% (the backup locate in disks not tapes)and in the media agent that need to create the recovery point I receive this error in 3dnfs.log:“Failed to send keep alive message to Restore head”maybe I need to restore the DB and then restore messages from DB offline thank you .

Hello,We are missing something. Running a simple full backup from RMAN command line, it kick a "(command line)" sublient job in the job controller. Ok so far…But the job once it completes, I cannot see it from the commcell console job history. What else should be customized to have it correctly registered in the commserve DB?Regards,Pedro
Hello,Just wondering if there was a specific way to control who (via a creation of a role potentially?) has access to administer and manage certain backup workloads from other backup workloads? Hello Team,Please help, I’m planning to migrate MA (windows) with following steps.1.Launch new server with installing MA software. and assigning same hostname ,new IP address.2.Detach all mount path drives and DDB drives, attach the same in new server3.Disconnect old server from the network.4.check all services and process running on new MA5.Map the respective LUNs, ( DDBs, Index Cache, Library) also make sure you are using the same drive letters while moving the contents on new server. Is this method good to move forward , if any other steps please suggest. Regards,Samuel
Hi! Trying to understand selective copy connected with database agents (mysql and psql). My config is : two storage polices (one from data and one for log) full aux copy from primary to secondary DC selective copy to tape (for both log and data SP; first full backup each week with 4 week retention, first full backup each month with 6 months extended retention) What we see is not consistent across DBA agents and logs are not always copied as we would expect together with data ; postgres (FS based) write data and logs to separate storage polices, selective copy works as expected psql (with intelisnap) not execute log backup during full, logs are not copied to offsite copy, recovery need to based only on logs present on filesystem during snapshot mysql (by xtrybackup) is doing log backup to same SP during full, so logs are not in storage policy in what we expect to be and are not copied to offsite copy, during recovery only data is restoredDo we have any guidance on above? While running auxillary copy job media marked as appendable its not full , after appendable is not reusableThis appendable media is not full, also tape is getting stuck inside the drive,if we can reuse this appendable tape without erase the existing data(because we data retention in 5 years) please share any solution for this issue
