In Commvault version 11 - Is it possible to automatically Suspend ALL running Jobs at 7:00 AM, stop new jobs from running, then Resume ALL jobs at 7:00 PM? Let me know if this isn’t clearly stated.
Our SAP HANA server was migrated to a new hardware . The new server has the same hostname as the old server but with new IP address. the Commvault client was installed on the new server and connectivity between Commcell and new server is working fine. Check Readiness on the the existing pseudo client is ok. However when connecting to the instance it is showing “unable to establish connectivity with these instance properties. instance properties validation failed. Please check DB credentials”. I’m using the SYSTEM DB username and password was verified by the SAP team.The ClHanaAgent.log shows these errors:ClHanaAgent::ExecuteBrowseDiscoverdatabases() - HDBSql command Failed. Please check the connection password/ Bring the database online..Please advise on how to resolve this.Thank you.

I'm trying to wrap my head around the following. I'm setting up VM-level protection in a VMware environment and I'm using the VCD hypervisor because we want to deliver VM-level protection to our cloud customers. So I configured a vCenter hypervisor first and added the VCD hypervisor afterwards, which leverages the vCenter hypervisor. Right now there are 4 active clusters with a few others coming soon. I deployed access nodes on all clusters and they are all listed as access node. Our backup method should be hot-add, because we'll have to close down/limit connectivity between clusters because of security, so NBD will not be an option anymore. The "first" access node in the list acting as the communicator is able to communicate to all other access nodes via a network topology, no errors what so ever to be seen when it comes to the communication between the nodes.Now when setting the transport mode to hot-add all jobs so far failed with the error that the access node cannot mount the disk

Hi!We’re currently running a .bat script to do some simple copying of files to another destination, and we’re in the process of updating this to a powershell script, that basicly does the same, but does some additional checks and such first. I’ve verified that i can run the script manually with when i’m logged in as the user specified in the “run as user” But when i run a disaster recovery backup, i get the followig error: Error Code: [7:78] Description: Unable to run [C:\Path_to_Script\Name-of-script.ps1] on the client. Internal Error [150995005] in CVSession while communicating with remote host [Remote system [FQDN of Commcell server]. Remote execute request returned error: [].]. [] Source: commcellserver, Process: startPrePostCmd Anyone know what could be the issue here ? As far as i can see/understand, there should not be any “Remote System” ?
Use case:I have enabled Object lock on the Cloud storage bucket (Hitachi Content Platform for Cloud Scale (S3)).Enabled WORM on Commvault and set the retention for the storage policy.Result: Once the data is backed up I am able to delete the data manually in the Hitachi Content Platform for Cloud Scale (S3) bucket.Does Commvault does not leverage Object lock ?Also Can we enable Object lock on Hitachi Content Platform for Cloud Scale (HCPCS) and WORM on Commvault or its Either or case.

Hello, I am updating some our documentation on our best practices to securely delete files from file server's backups.The file server backups in questions are only stored on a primary copy residing on tape, encrypted via AES 256 per the storage policy, and using the built in key management server. Normally if we need to delete a file, we follow the documentation and use the delete data by browsing option. For clarification, if I use the "delete data by browsing option" and delete a file that resides offsite on tape, there is no way to recover that file, correct? There is no way to "Un-Age" or catalog operation on the tape I could perform if I were to insert it back into my tape library? I assume that the CommCell destroys the indexed data/encryption keys associated with that file and cannot read that block of data on the tape? I’m a fan of the Console but I’m told it is no longer going to be supported. I’ve been instructed that I need to stop using the Console in favor of Command Center. Just a couple questions about that though.Do I need to recreate my configuration as Plans on the interface? I’m finding that my Console jobs are running, and I can manage the job, but I don’t seem to be able to make changes to things like policies.If I do setup plans and get everything going in the Command Center, will that override the Console settings? Do I need to do anything in the Console other than to stop using it?I’m also open to any suggestions, tips, etc. that you can provide.

Hello good morning, I need your help, I have made a backup of a Hyper-V which has a Storage Policie with a main copy to disk and retention of 7 days and auxiliary copy to tape with retention of 20 days this operation identified with the Job Id "30030", for this the virtual machines that are within this hyper-v gets a VM job Id. Therefore what I would like to know is if the copy (StoreOnce or tape) of the VM Job Id 30084 VM I can send it to another different tape to which this with a different retention.I attach images. this is my Job Id 30030 this is my VM Job Id from which I need to send to a different tape with different retention.
After moving the index cache from an old path to new path on different drive will the old index folder be removed automatically or can we delete it manually
We are trying to use CommVault to backup an Oracle 19c Database straight to our hyperscale servers ( was backing to as separate SAN disk and then to hyperscale hope to reduce the extra step) backup is working, but a full backup gets all the white space on the data drive instead of only the used space and takes about 13 hrs to complete. Currently we are thinking that the SBT switch in the RMAN is what is doing this to us. Anyone else doing this? The length of time to backup has the DBA’s worried.
Hi, is there a way to monitor the Status of the Commserve Activy Control. We are using PRTG to Monitor our Systems and want to get notfied about the Status of the Activity Control in the Commserve. I checked the API but did not find anything which is related to this case. Maybe there is a way to trigger a SQL Statement to the Database or SNMP. Kind RegardsFlorian
Hi all, my existing customer wishes to onboard their Tanzu workload on to their their existing Commvault platform . Currently they are using Velero to backup their Tanzu workload. Two key considerations 1) Can we backup Tanzu Management plane ?2) Can we backup their PVC volumes that resides on the vsan files services ? In terms of backup ,since Tanzu CSI is not being exposed to us and we will be doing streaming of the volumes. Are there any considerations in terms of architecture?
We seem to run into multiple problems in our new HSX environment. Metadata disk d2 silently filled 100% on one of three nodes, data disks are all 90-95%, but in GUI only 550 of 720TB are shown as used. Not a single alert for this, all green in GUI. An then there is disk d22 / sdv on one node that failed a few weeks ago and was replaced together with support. Hi all,After installing the MediaAgent Package on some Windows Servers (These just require the component and do not not act as a Data Mover or host a DR Share) I get the once a day 64:1142 Critical Code Event logged: Administrative share are enabled on the MediaAgent XXX which could lead to potential security exploits, please review and take necessary steps.Having reviewed https://kb.commvault.com/article/72274 this article only really seems concerned with disk libraries and DR Shares that use an Admin share in its path. I have 2 servers that this is being logged in event viewer for, yet they only have the default C$, Admin$ and IPC$. Should Commvault be flagging the C$ as something that should be removed? Indeed if I apply a reg key (AutoShareServer = 0) the alert is suppressed, but this also removes the Admin$ Share. Are these alerts in the Event Viewer supposed to be triggered for these default Shares by design or is it being over zealous and picking up these in error? The Cri
Hello Commvault Community, We had a scenario where one of the (properly) backed up VMs was migrated to another DataCenter using the Zerto tool, then migrated again to the original DataCenter and stopped working properly. The VM named XYZ has been moved from the production DataCenter2 (ABC2) to the second (failover/backup) DataCenter1 (ABC1). The Zerto tool was used for this type of switching. The machine disappears from DC2 and appears in DC1 - the backup should be done, because we have everything prepared on the tags (Tags are configured at the subclient level), and the Zerto tool transfers all tags. In both DCs we have separate MediaAgents (DDBs, Indexes on them) and other repositories (other arrays) The problem is that the virtual machine [XYZ] in DC1 during about a week of stay did not perform a backup according to the schedule until it had Full configured (started according to schedule). We are running Ubuntu Full FS backup for a client with Backup size ~18TB with ~100+ Crore numbers of files. Which is successful but the backed up date size is only ~9TB. Backup completed without any errors or warnings. There is no exclusions in the sub client content.When we are trying to restore most of the directory are showing empty which is not actually empty in the client server. Can someone suggest why this is happening ?
