Hi - unless I’ve missed it - is there a way to add webhooks to commvault via the API?
We are running Ubuntu Full FS backup for a client with Backup size ~18TB with ~100+ Crore numbers of files. Which is successful but the backed up date size is only ~9TB. Backup completed without any errors or warnings. There is no exclusions in the sub client content.When we are trying to restore most of the directory are showing empty which is not actually empty in the client server. Can someone suggest why this is happening ?
Hi,An external application wants to use the Commvault API.There is a firewall between the machine where the external application resides and the Commserve host.I would like to know which ports, protocol, direction to open between the Commserve & VM containing the external applications.I cannot find the information in the Commvault documentation.Many thanks
Hi everyone. I am currently testing and documenting the setup of the continuous replication (VAIO) in a test environment. When installing the VAIO filters, I keep getting, “The operation is not allowed in the current state.” I used the built-in administrator too. I can’t open a support ticket as it is not a licensed CS. Hello I need to migrate an existing commserve with mediaagent role to a new site/server.During the migration both existing and new commserve should remain active for backups for about three months. Then old commserve will just be preserved for legacy restores.How can this be best achieved without buying a seperate license for new commserve? Thanks
We just upgraded to 2022E. We would like to know how to reduce false positives from our roaming terminal services profiles stored on our main file server, from our users that are using Microsoft Visual Studio Code… I’m sure Commvault, you know that one of the file extensions you are constantly alerting on is anything ending in “.code” - but the problem with this is that VScode saves temp files with .code extension in users’ appdata folders. Constantly getting the error below on two HP UX boxes. Hi folks,I’m a relatively new Commvault admin so I’m learning a lot of this as I go. My teammate and I were tasked with testing a back-up to S3 storage hosted by our overarching IT dept. We set up an aux copy to go to the S3 bucket, did our testing, and now I need to clean up the remnants of our testing in the Commcell Browser. I’m not sure if I can just “right click and delete” or if there is a proper way to remove everything.Here is what we have:Storage Resources > Deduplication Engines: one related to the S3 storageLibrary: there was one for the S3 storage, but this was removed at the conclusion of our testingStorage Pool: one related to the S3 storageStorage Policy: one related to the S3 storage, a second one under our main storage policy related to the S3 bucket (the actual aux copy)The part that I’m a little worried about is the ddb for this test ended up in the same folder as the ddb for our global copy policy, so I don’t want to accidentally delete the ddb we need when delet
i would like to know how the restore works , considering i have a full backup on weekend like Saturday and then daily incremental . now i want restore from last Wednesday , how the restoration works ?system go for the last full backup and then check the incrementals then convert it as a full backup and restore , or do we need to do it manually ??

HiI’m pretty sure that last year when I briefly investigated this I was able to “partial” restore from export backups for RDS Aurora Postgres - I restored a TABLE ONLY.Now it seems I can only restore the entire database - has this functionality been removed? This is pretty critical to our use-case for using CommVault.Any help?Mike
Hello, I have a problem with commvault not been able to delete file on client after archiving job, in subclient properties i did set “Delete the files” after Archiving. When i manually start the job the file gets backup but it stays in folder on client. everything i could find is the event code 19:2325 (NumberOfFilesProcessed = [0], NumberOfFilesArchived = [0], NumberOfFilesSkippedForRedundancyCheck = [0]. TotalNumberOfFilesSkipped[0].) Can anyone help me with this problem?

good morning, i resell our commvault backup shared infra as a multitenant backup service to final customers (basic backup of windows/linux clients and servers, just fileservers no db or other).they choose between different retention policies, but all are quite the same, an incremental backup at day with retention of (15/30/60/120/365) AND a synthetic full each weekend (just in case the incremental chain got “corrupt”….).actually our customers pay for the TOTAL logical used space for their own backup.the problem is that longer retention periods costs much more in space AND price (a synthetic full each week for 1 year it’s a lot).they demand to have just something like a forever incremental, with 1 full at the begin on the chain of backup and conseguent incrementals, and every day the 1day full will “shift” do right to become the new full...(something like that so the no longer pay also for each week synt full).QUESTION:how can i lower the fulls/synthetic fulls to lower logical disk spac

I have 3 LTO7 tapes that were previously used for Microfocus Data Protector, then we wanted to use them for Commvault backups. But strange things started to happen with those tapes.1. Commvault recognized them as completely empty tapes, despite having information from the other backup tool.2. When I launched the copies the first 2 were filled with 6TB and 300GB.3. The third tape fills up with 2TB and goes into append state and doesn't let me use it by asking for a new tape.I already formatted it twice but the same thing keeps happening. But I see that the formatting that it does does not take it to the drive, it only does it at a logical level with the data from Commvault. In Commvault, is there a way to format it and purge all the data to be able to use the tapes in their entirety?

From Command Center, for out-off-place restore, I can see only MediaAgent, and other VM’s as a destination and not a NAS device.
