Hi Team, Quick question hopefully. So if I have a partitioned GDSP. Two MA’s, one partition each.Reading from storage which is mapped locally (preferred) to one Media Agent, and then accessed by the alternate MA by Mount Oath sharing (set to read-only if it is not local). The target storage is up in the cloud. Two two ma’s have read-write access. I have my SP’s running of it, with the Data Paths set as Round-robin. For reasons unknown, when my Aux Copy runs, it is only using one of the Media Agents as a Destination Media Agent. Subsequently, one of the ma’s runs pretty hot, the other one does not. But so far, I can’t see any reason why this would be the case.To make it even more confusing, some of the Cloud mount paths have the preferred setting applied to them, but the Aux is not using it (not actually sure if its’ supposed to?). So at the moment, I literally have 50 streams running, two MA’s in the DDB config, but only one MA being used for the Destination MA. Has anyone seen this be

Hello,We currently use Azure Backup Center to backup our Azure VMs, but we want to cut costs, thus we intend to backup those Azure Servers to Commvault.Is it possible to perform a VM Snapshot backup of those Azure servers to Commvault? thus I don't believe installing a file system agent will not work.

When the SQL server authentication mode is modified from mixed-mode to Windows authentication mode, i can read the following in the below article :“Note: When you upgrade the Commvault software to a new version or a new service pack, you must change all Commvault services to use a domain system administrative account.”Windows Authentication for Commvault SQL Server Connectionsit means that if SQL are configured in Windows authentication mode, after an upgrade Commvault will automatically reset the SQL server authentication to mixed-mode ?regards,Christophe  

Hello Commvault Community, Is such a configuration possible that sharepoint agentbacks up documents locally, and its databases via sharepoint aliases are on another server?Can such a configuration be made and will it work properly, or does it all have to be protected locally, on the Sharepoint server where the commvault agent is installed.Thanks,Kamil

Hello, im looking to deploy gateway proxies in order to isolate customer tenants from the mediaagent network. my question is, do the clients need to initiate connections from their end trough the proxy in any way oris a backup job always iniated from commserv  / mediaagent server?Reasoning behind that, is that i could deploy the proxy with NAT without allowing any inbound traffic from the tenants network. i guess for registering client, the client need to iniate the connection, but afterwards?

I didn't Understand how it work. Anyone can help me to understand. This is Backup based replication or VMware to VMware based replicationI have some questions -1. Periodic Classic - Is this Backup level replication? for this we need backup? 2. Periodic - Is it same as periodic classic? or it is Snapshot based Replication?3. Continuous - For Continuous Replication Required Media agent. If we are using HSX then we need HSX both site source and DR site?                           

Hello, What is the correct procedure to add a new tape drive to an existing shared tape library? If I go to the expert storage wizard and hit either detect or exhaustive detection, the new drive is configured as a new library. Never under the existing library.Note that this is SAN library, partitioned, and in the same partition we added the new drive. Regards,Pedro

As a kind of Ransomware protection test we wanted to see how Commvault backup behaves when someone deletes the bucket content through a backdoor using a S3 browser for example. As the content of the locked bucket is physically still there (just not visible through a delete marker), CV should be able to restore them somehow. CV is also set up as WORM with the right WORM workflow of course.But after deleting the bucket content incl. the commvault backup tree, the CV cloud library goes offline as loosing the mount-path. Question: what would be the right procedure to re-enable commvault to restore the content?

How to set up volume replication in Comcell console ? I can do it through command center, but even then I don't see this replication in Comcell. Conversely, the replication set in Comcell is not visible in Command center !?? Why !?  Is this a bug ?

The Windows client installation creates OS firewalls rules for the client to run and allow communication on ports used by the Commvault services. Does the Linux client installation make any FW changes to Firewalld or to SE Linux to allow the services to run and communicate externally? Are these required manually after installation? 

Hello community, a quick question!Is it possible to proceed a restore directly to a Synology NAS ?A guest file restore for example, from a VM → out-off-place restore directly to a NAS device! From Command Center, for out-off-place restore, I can see only MediaAgent, and other VM’s as a destination and not a NAS device.

Hello to all,In order to save some Commvault licenses, it’s a good practice to Release License from CommServe & MediaAgent?In a test, I see that after this action, MediaAgent still proceed with DDB backup.So, is this any reason to keep consume Commvault license for Commvault infrastructure Servers?  Please for your feedback!

Once changed, will there be any impact on the current operations in the sense that any job will stop working due to a non-satisfactory password?
