Hey everyone.our Commvault FR24 customer has purchased a number of cloud licenses based on the “active users” in their tenant admin. Our understanding is that “active users” is what is counted. Period.However, we see that way more licenses are being consumed (about 30%). Only SPO and O4B are in use and backed up, EO is not used.In the CV web based license report there are licensed users listed for OneDrive, that have a backup size of 0 Bytes. These unique users are not “active” users in M365. They do not consume O4B storage, in fact O4B is disallowed in M365 for these users. When the backup is browsed we see one top folder (My Drive) with no content.There is only M365, no other SaaS like SFDC. My understanding is that a for all M365 workloads one unique user consumes one license.Is there a reliable and understandable way to find out beforehand, how many user based licenses need to be purchesed? Hi, I have 2 questions related to the same issue.We have an hyperscale with 3 nodes. When we look at the mountpath we have 3 shares of which 2 are online and the 3th offline. If you validate this share it comes with the following message:Failed to check cloud server status, error = [[Cloud] The request time is too skewed. Message: The difference between the request time and the server's time is too large. Resource: /*******?delimiter=%2F&prefix=*******%2F Extra Details: RequestId 1643106149072049 ]When I gave the command timedatectl we found out that the node was a litte bit over15minutes behind and the other 13min behind. I think 15min is reason to take the share offline for that node.My questions are:Can/may I set the time with the command “date --set”<correct time>” Does this come with a risk? Hello Commvault Community! I would like to ask you about the topic of Multi-factor authentication Commvault. First Question: Is it possible in MFA to block the sending of e-mails with one-time codes, apart from sending the first e-mail with the code to the authentication application? I guess the solution to the problem should be to disable MFA for specific users, but then that user won't be protected anymore, right? Hello Guys, I need yor help.The Customer has sealed a DDB.However, they ignored the following warning:There was not enough free space on DL.As a result Disk Library is out space of now and the Customer has disabled schedules to not run any backup.As a troubleshooting step we tried to delete some jobs assigned to sealed DDB.AS you can see, there are over 20,000 jobs assigned to this DDB.We deleted over 12,000 jobs.Hovewer, Commvault is still showing the same number of jobs and no data has been pruned from DL.Is any way to force Commvault to free some disk space removing data assigned to sealed DDB?Rgds,Kamil

Hi All A question arose from my client, who backed Oracle Big tablespace.Is there a need for special adjustments when backing up BIG FILES TABLESPACE compared to regular TABLE SPACES when backing up  directly ( not from local RMAN script) from Commvault By adjustments, I mean a change in the settings at the SUB CLIENT level or the backup command level sent to RMAN by Commvault

Hi All, Commvaullt release the LTS in every 1 year and Innovation Releases in every three months. I have few question about both FRs.What is fundamental difference between those two FR? Hi all,I have a remote cache very far from my Commserve, then when I try to sync the Commserve cache it failed because it goes in time out. If I populate the remote cache in another way, is there then the way to force the sync status in the remote cache status ?Domenico

Hey all, is there an option / regkey which prevent that an client will added to an group even the group settings would add the client to the group because the filter are matching ?  The backround is we have groups with network settings. The group rules add the client to the group and push the netwoprk settings works as designed. But we need to exclude this particular client because we dont want that the client gets any networc settings pushed.  So do you know if there is any high level setting for the client which prevent from adding to groups ?  or can i remove the settings in the FwConfig + FWConfigLocal locally on the client persistent ?  thanks

Log4j showed me a huge flaw in they way Commvault pushes information related to Maintenance Releases (MRs). Problem one is the software reading a list, allowing different installations to fetch different MRs as their ‘latest’ MR. Hi allI am running a PostgreSQL restore and the DBA has mentioned that the index files haven’t restored on this particular restore process. I’m doing a table level restore to another DB instance (out of place).He mentioned a restore that was completed in December had the index files restored. I’m a bit at a loss as there is no option to allow this from what I can see. I also followed the identical restoration process as was done in December so I’m a little stumped.Not sure if there is a simple solution to this? While trying to delete a domain entry (name server entry) under domain and organization in security, commvault shows a confirmation dialog box “This operation permanently deletes all clients and their associated data for the selected Name Server. Are you sure you want to delete the selected Name Server ?”  what does this really imply?The validation check kept failing with verification error stating either credentials are wrong or the provider couldn’t be contacted for verification, hence we created a new entry for the same domain and validation check is successful on that.I want to get rid of the old entry for which the validation is failing. Hi there, Since we upgraded to 11.24 from 11.20 I’ve noticed all our linux servers fail to have quiesced backups (windows servers are fine). We use openvmtools on the linux servers so I’m surmising that commvault thinks vmware tools isn't installed on the linux servers and performs a non quiesced backup? Manually taking a quiesced snapshot in Vmware for any of these servers works fine. I’m wondering is this normal behaviour? Cheers!Maurice

Correct me if I’m wrong, but, the Commvault server initiates the backup of the client, correct?  Is there a client agent that can tell the Commvault server when to be backed up? Thanks.

Hi Is it possible to exclude files from a long time retained backup.We have one plan which is retained forever. But there was not specified any filters on the servers when they started to build up retention.So now if I exclude areas on the different servers, then this data will be excluded on new backup jobs. But we will have a lot of data saved which can not be removed?
