Hello folks,This message appears when we enter the commserver. We would like to know why it has been activated. Has it been activated automatically? What are the consequences? Can it be deactivated?I have read the documentation but it is not very clear to us.Does anyone know any more information about this?Regards.

Dear Experts,our objective is to restore a table from Source_PDB to Destination_PDB via Import functionality provided by CommVault. Setup: CommServe Version 11.32.49; Source_ and Destiantion_CDB are both Oracle 19.22.  The Destination_CDB was set up according to CommVault documentation. The Destination_CDB and Source_CDB are both included to be in tnsnames.ora on either sides. Remote crosswise sqlplus-connect is working from both sides.  In Commvault-GUI we did: Commcell → Client_Computers → select Source_Client →  right-click Oracle Source-CDB → select All Tasks → select Browse And Restore → select Table View + set Time Range + End Time (select Date and PointInTime)→  View Content → Select table and its dependent tables from the respective schema in the Source_PDB → Recover All Selected …In the window “Table Restore Options for Clients Source_CDB_Client SID: Source_CDB”  in the Tab “General” : Set Destinat

I would like to create a secondary copy of tape backups to aux copy existing tape Archive backups to a newly configured AWS cloud library. This is using a Windows 2022 VM as a new mediaagent.We have an AuxCopy schedule which copies Primary data from all these tape SP copies in one data centre to a matching copy in a second data center.  a)12Month-LTO5, b)5 Years- LTO5, c)7 years-LTO5 ,d)10 Years-LT05  there is no new data, but we need to retain it & I would like to decommission the tape library as soon as possible   1) If I add a new DDB disk to the mediaagent & enable De Duplication as per this doco - Creating a Selective Copy Using a Library Does it work to reduce the data size going to the cloud library ?Because if I use the recommended method in

Hi CV Support, Is there any release notes for 11.36 which outlines new features in 11.36 when compared to previous release?I reached frontline on support portal, but they said there is no such link or document. I see release notes for other backup vendors, not sure why it is not available for World’s top Backup product. I believe every Commvault Customer’s deserve to know what is new features in new release. I know documentation is available, but no one can read complete BoL just to know the new features in release.

Hi,We’re running ver: 11.32.6 since a week back.Now we’re getting the following error for one of our MA’s.“Error Code: [13:244]Description: [Media write operation failure] [Dedupe disk media] [There is not enough space on the disk.]Source: xxxx, Process: cvd” When I check disk we’ve got a bit over 2.2TB free space on disk which equals to 56% free disk. 

Can anyone point me to a graph that shows what these color/designs mean in the Client Storage Utilization by Storage Policy?  Each one represents a client and I cant find anything depicting what they represent.  

We’ve been using disk libraries on our offsite DR mediaagent for years now. We only store the last week of changed data in it in case of absolute disaster (we store a year’s worth of changes on our on-prem mediaagent).Our office just got a large amount of S3-compatible storage and gave us a path to it. I successfully added a new “S3-compatible” cloud library to my commserve and I can see it (a single mount path, vs the 50 mount paths my disk library has, going to each disk).My goal is to change my existing Storage Policy settings, the policy called “SSCC Auxilary Copy” so that it stops using the disk library, and starts using the Cloud library for all future Aux copies.I went into the properties of the Storage Policy and I see the tab “Data Paths” that only contains a single item, with the correct MediaAgent02 listed, and the current disk library, just also named “MediaAgent02” - I think this is what has to be changed. Hi all!On our Windows Media Agents i noticed that there are two Commvault Services installed where the startup type is set to “manual”.Commvault VSS Provider Service Commvault VSS Hardware Provider ServiceDoes that mean that CV will only start these services as needed? When are those services needed?Is there a Service description for WIndows on what each service does in general?Thanks in advance for any input.

Good day! I’ve got some strange problem. After upgrade from 11.28 to 11.32.69 database backups stopped working with errorError Code: [19:1942]Description: The RBS Store Client option is not selected. Please configure it and resubmit the job.We are using BLOB storage in content database. MS RBS.msi is installed and configured on SharePoint server (before upgrade backups worked fine). Now I can’t find where to enable RBS Store Client option.I’ve tried to create new subclient, reinstall agents on SharePoint server with now luck. Could anyone direct me, where can I enable this option?Thanks in advance.

Hello guys,is there an equivalent available for Plans, like available for Storage Policies, where I can use a different target for transactionlogs and archive logs, when assigning a StoragePolicy to a subclient or instance. ?I formerly used NonDedup Storage Policies as a transaction log Policy linked into the Dedup Storage Policy used for database backups.When associating a dabase storage policy, the correct NonDedup policy has been automatically assigned to the transactionlog part of instance or sublient configuration.Cannot find it in plans and having problems when trying to assign them using plan rules.(currently running on 11.32.73)RgdsKlaus

Hi, I have a Hyperscale setup with Mount Path Reserve Space set to 6144GB. I’m guessing this is set by default and you should avoid changing this. In this setup we have typically statis data and we are close to the limit, passing it during weekends and then getting back some space after Data Aging. The system will also have less data to protect in the future as backups will be re-routed to a new Hyperscale.I’m wondering if the Reserved Space could be carefully lowered and what the risk will be. I also noted if I right click the Hyperscale Mount Path I have the option “Release Reservation”, what does that do? Hi,we create new client (Exchange DAG) and the discovery works fine. But one of the member servers found was not available. I can select olny of them. Our AD User accout is correctly configured. Any ideas? Thank you.

Hi, We are on 11.32, in the command center plan while creating the RPO(schedule) it does not show option for synthetic full backup.As a workaround we created using commcell console. We are going to deploy new environment with 11.36.I beleive in the deployments from 11.34 the commcell console is locked(unless we have auth code).In such a case how do we create a synthetic full in command center Plans(I know there will be automatic synthetic full which is hidden, but we need to define synthetic full manually) ? One more query in  commcell console since schedule policy and storage policy are different, we can customize the subclients with in storage policy with different schedules. But in commandcenter the plan is binded with RPO.This means the subclients in plan cannot be customized with having different schedules.Doesn’t it a limitation of Command center plan? I hope the questions are clear.

Hello!I have a question about failing-over and using Okta to SSO into the webconsole.Current situation:Software Version: 11.32.69We use Okta to SSO into Command Center and Java GUI.  When we log into Commvault, it redirects to our Okta side, performs authentication, and redirects to the Active server’s webconsole link.  (Our webconsole is hosted on the Commserve Server).  Failover situation:When we failover, the Passive server’s webconsole actually comes up and works.  I am able to see the login screen.  I am able to enter my credentials, and it redirects to the Okta side.  After it performs the authentication, instead of it redirecting to the passive server webconsole, it attempts to open the active server’s webconsole.  Since it can’t open that, the login fails. Is there a way for it to redirect to the passive server webconsole instead of the active server’s

Hi All, we are looking for an solution to backup an 7TB big SQL Server and restore the hole instance in 2h this is the customer wish.  I think the normal streaming backup is not working for this part. Maybe when the mediaagent has an all flash maglib behind and the network is 50GB and the sql server vm is also running on an nvme enviroment.  So we are thinking what can we do to backup the DBs and get an quick restore.  One Point ist the intelli snap for nutanix. Our idear is to run ever 4h an intellisnap for nutanix backup and copy it out to cv. Also we would like to install an sql cv agent inside of the vm run daily full + daily diff + every 15 minuts trans logs but no my question regarding the way back.  Lets say we have now 10:00 may last vm snap was at 06:00 and my logs are running every 15 min no i do an revert of the snap to 06:00 is it possible to restore over the commvault agent only the logs to 10:00 ? We

i configured an NDMP backup with 10 readers , i have dedicated ma with enough resources to accommodate  it , i split the content to several sub clients , as you can see in the below pic , there only one active streams never completing , how can i reuse the comeplted stream to do the job and finish it  

Hi!According to docshttps://documentation.commvault.com/2024e/expert/sap_maxdb_agent_system_requirements_03.html SAP MaxDB backup agent is not currently supported on Windows 2022, but SAP MaxDB itself is supported on Windows 2022. Are there any plans in Commvault to support backup of MaxDB on Windows 2022 platform? Or is it already supported but docs just haven’t been updated yet?It would be great if any vaulter could check that for me.Thanks!
