Hello All, I noticed some of my AuxCopies use a lot of streams, whereas some other use just a few (3-5) even if I set the “Device Streams” value.The ones that use a lot of streams are from storage policy copies associated with hundreds of laptop and workstations. The stream tab of the copy job show a lot of different JobID with 1 or 2 streams by job.The ones that use smaller amount of streams are policy copies associated with Vms. The stream tab shows only a handfull of different job IDs. Source data is deduplicated and stored on the same disk library and is copied to the same deduplicated storage pool. I’d like to know if there is a way to force Commvault using more streams / pick more jobs? Stream randomization and Distribute data evenly amont multiple streams are active on my storage policy properties.Scalable ressource allocation are enabled by default.Batch size is set at 1000 Jobs.I am running CV v11.36.35. Thanks in advance, merry christmas to all.

Hello, I have 1 Client with the following agents VSA and SQL Agent we use CV11.32.73. A VSA Backup runs every day. The SQL Agent discovered 3 instances. On one instance a sql backup runs every day.The two other instances has no scheduler and storage policy. I looked at SLA Report but I cannot find these instances. I don't use "Exclude from SLA" at sql subclient or client group level. When I look into commandcenter protect - databases I see the two instances with SLA status “Excluded”Can anyone tell me why SLA Report don't show me the two instances? Roland

I need your help with an issue I'm encountering while installing CommVault software.I've been trying to install CommVault version 11.28.0 on my Windows system (version 10.0.17763) server 2019, but the installation consistently fails. Here's a summary of the steps and issues encountered:The installation starts normally, I select French as the language and accept the license agreement. I choose the "Install on Local Machine" option and select the latest maintenance release (131). I select the necessary packages, including CommServe, WorkFlow Engine, Index Store, Web Server, etc. The installation seems to progress until the prerequisites check. Hello team!In case of enabling mfa for ALL users / groups, Im wondering if there is any “backdoor” for admin user.In case of lost Microsoft Authenticator app and email access, is there any way to restore access to Commcell, even with help of Commvault supoprt?I cant decide if it’s preferred to enable mfa for all admins (master) users or to leave one admin user without mfa (with a strong password) in case of backdoor.Please for your thoughts.

In the current Commvault version 10SP15, how can I protect files in the SYSVOL folder located on the DC in an AD domain environment? Are there any related resolution cases? What should I do if the files in the SYSVOL folder on the DC are accidentally deleted? There is only one DC.

Our SLA’s for postgres need to be excluded or are consistently missed.  We are using FS based backups, and it appears the SLA is looking for dump based backups.  Any idea how to fix this and have it look at the FS backups when reporting on SLA? Thanks- Chris

Hello,Some question about the Storage policy to plan conversionI have let say 10 storage policies.SP1 to SP10The schedule policy associated to these Storage policy is always the same  : Schedule_Policy_ inc daily _8PM_synth_full_Sun_10PMI created a test Storage policy with a few clients.I ran the Plan conversion App.The SP was converted to Plan.I noticed that the schedule policy Schedule_Policy_ inc daily _8PM_synth_full_Sun_10PM has been disabled during the conversion and It is a normal behavior.But it means that other storage policies that are not yet converted will not be backup up until I convert them ? Also I noticed that the synthetic full full backup schedule was not taken into account during the conversion Thanks for you help !

Hi,Having issue backing up SAP HANA database (full DB and Log).  This server hosted both  SAP Quality and Development DB, but only Quality DB is getting the issue.Please advise.

Currently there are 2 servers,  one of which has MS SQL on it for a business application.   and the other has a media agent and file services etc. on it.    They want to put everything on one server,  can the MS SQL and the Media agent function on the same server.   The server will be running Window Server 2022, with a MS SQL database running on it,  along with file services etc.   Will it work.   suggestions.   etc.

Hi Community,We are planning to implement MediaAgent side software encryption in our Commcell. I have changed subclient encryption setting to Media side for all the existing clients. But for new subclients the default encryption settings is Agent Side.Is there anyway to set by default the Media side encryption for all the new clients?

Hi,currently I’m struggling with PLANs and Oracle Backups.Once I associate a database subclient to a PLAN, the Archivelog storage policy is moved to the same plan. (whithout internally modifying the original PLAN association for the Archivelog subclient)if the PLANs are using different storage targets, this is not the wanted outcome.Is it possible to define the Archivlog policy / plan indendent to the database subclient (or even commandline) plan ? Hi,currently I am trying to restore the folder Inbox only.So no subfolders should be restored, just all emails in Inbox.If I select the Inbox, all subfolders are included, please see screenshot, “Posteingang” is german and means Inbox. If I click again on the inbox folder, nothing is selected. If I deselect all subfolders, nothing is selected.If I select the checkbox beside “From”, only the emails on the site are selected. Since I can show only 500 emails per site, I can not select all emails. In this inbox are up to 10.000 emails which should be restored...is there a possibility to select with one click all emails in Inbox but not in any subfolder?Maybe I’ve overseen it, maybe it isn’t there?Setup:11.32.65, Exchange Online Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello All,We see that Commvaut is using rondom ports on clients as you see below. Commvault listens these prots always not only dıring backup. How to ignore that issue I did configuration on client. But It is still using ramdom ports 

In my organization, aside from the Commserve (Windows Server 2019) itself I sometimes use another remote server to launch the Commcell Console. The details of the remote server are: Windows Server 2016 (Version 1607)Java Version: 1.8.0_411 The syntax to launch the Commcell Console from the remote server is:C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c  " ""c:\admin\bin\java\commvault\jre\bin\javaws.exe ""  c:\admin\bin\galaxy.jnlp" Up until version 11.28.124, launching the application might bring up a Security Warning and a message saying that the certificate is not valid and has expired, but pressing Continue will still launch the application properly on the remove server. But upon upgrading the complex to 11.32.69 and clearing the Java cache several times, attempting to launch the Commcell Console after skipping the certificate warning it now brings a popup error as see in the screenshot with more details in the attachment showing the Launch File, Exception, and Wrapped Exception. Do you know if th

I am currenting running 11.28   I have been running Office 365 / OneDrive backups for quite awhile now.  With the Incremental forever methodology it ends up keeping backups far past our corporate retention.   I would like to get these old backups to retire at some point.     In documentation it mentions that there should be an option for a Synthetic full when starting a backup.  I do not get that option.  Below is a screen shot from my Command Center with no Synthetic full option   Also a screen shot of the documentation.   I would appreciate if anyone can reply with screens shots of there Command Center if they have the Synthetic option, and what version of Commvault software they are running.Thank you!

Failed to process mailbox due to [EWS Error in enumeratings folders. Reason: Too many concurrent connections opened., Cannot open mailboxon several Exchange Online jobs lately.We have been following this:Best Practices for Exchange Online (commvault.com)We are using 10 streams on all our customers’ Exchange online backup config.Did Microsoft bandwidth become more restricted?I will lower one customer to 7 streams now, just to see what happens.But please let me know if there are any known issues or changes done on MS side.

Hi,We are running standard streaming backups (configured in Command Center) for virtual machines. We have 3 backup copy destinations for virtual machines:primary site - disks primary site - tapes (monthly fulls) - extended retention secondary site - disksWe would like to configure and run Disaster Recovery and Replication jobs for some of our protected virtual machines to replicate them from primary site and create replica in secondary site. We would like to run this as periodic(daily) replication with VM - hot site type.What is a best practice in scenario, where we need traditional backup and also replica in secondary site? Only DR and replication jobs with longer retention or coexistence of backup and DR and replication jobs in the same time? regards,Przemek

Hello, I have some issue with restoring of 4TB from one client to another. It's taking about 9hrs to restore database from one client to another compare of 2 hrs of local restore.The backup of database using 10 streams so 10 streams will be used for the restore. The source and destination clients are on the same vcenter. Where should i take a look to find the issue of the restore ?
