Is it no longer necessary to create Exchange Recovery Points for Exchange Online or might this be a bug?     

I am doing a hardware refresh of my Commvault Environment and would like to setup Both Commserver & Media Agents on Redhat Linux.Is this supported and can i migrate from Windows Commserver to Linux?Can only see online that Commserver only supports Redhat 8.10 and Not Redhat 9 and does the fileystem partitioning also matter?

Hi FellowsAfter reboot, installation continue but failed, because the language cannot find find the source DVD ???If I start the installation (from program files\CommVault\installer… the only option I’ve got is “Download packages to install on a different computer”I’ve tried to install CommCell on this computer (Win2019).I’ve tried also to install IIS before...same Any suggestion ?ThanksJasmin

This is an informative post targeting customers, like MSPs, who use the Private Metrics Billing engine for chargeback or other use cases. Do note that ones you upgrade to CPR2024 that the billing engine stops showing information. For some reason, and without notification/communication, Commvault decided to redrawn the possibility to use the billing engine by customers. We have a ticket open for it already.  

Hello,I would like to get a list of all failed jobs in the last 24 hours.I was able to get all the job ids from the last 24 hours but to find the failed ones I need to retrieve the data of each job and it is not efficient and might take a long time. Is it possible to do it more efficiently?

After setting up an update from version 11.32.59 to 11.32.63 that failed, the commvault web console is not accessible anymore. Not from localhost on the linux server that hosts it, or from any of the clients. It still sends emails that there are updates available for download, but I’m unable to connect to the webconsole. The Web service is running if I go to ip:5000/searchsvc/cvwebservice.svc but I get an unable to connect when trying to log into the console itself.

Hi folks,we are planning to upgrade from 11.28 to 11.32, but we have some questions that maybe you can helps us clarify.Our setup is:Commserve installed in a cluster configuration with 2 serversWindows Server 2016SQL Server 2016At this moment we are not planning to upgrade to a new Windows version or doing a hardware refresh.Some scenarios we are considering.1) Upgrading only the Commvault packages, by using the Download Software within the Commcell. Is there some downside with staying in SQL Server 2016?2) Upgrading SQL Server + Commvault packages, at the same time, by using the Full Media Kit download (including SQL Server packages). I have tried this in a lab, but it didn't upgrade SQL Server, only Commvault packages.3) Can we upgrade in steps like this?3.1) upgrade just the SQL Server using the 2019 install package included in the Full Media Kit. Upgrade on the passive node, then failover the instance to it

Hello everyone,I am a Solution Architect and Integrator, and I have recently been tasked with migrating our CommVault infrastructure to IaaS virtual machines on Azure. Currently, our environment consists of a CommServe installed on a Windows Server 2016 virtual machine, with a Media Agent and a proxy server each on separate Windows Server 2016 machines. My goal is to migrate the entire solution to Windows Server 2022 virtual machines on Azure, followed by upgrading the CommVault software from 11.28.117 to the last version.It’s important to note that I was not involved in the initial installation or configuration of this CommVault solution. My mandate includes the migration, optimization for the cloud, and maximizing cost efficiency.We are hesitant about exporting the CommVault database from our On-Premise environment and importing it into the new IaaS CommServe, mainly due to the cloud-specific security requirements that are not currently implemented on the On-P

Hello We are on Commvault 11.28.122 and our security team notified me that we have a few vulnerabilities on our linux redhat clients.  Its a medium vulnerability but this client requires us to address medium vulnerabilities.plugin Output:   Path              : /opt/commvault/Base64/libcurl.so  Installed version : 8.4.0  Fixed version     : 8.9.1My questions - Would this possibly be addressed in a “maintenance release” ?  orWould we need to upgrade from 11.28.x to say like 11.32.x or 11.36.x to correct this?  I mean how and were can see what versions of libcurl is included in a maintenace fix or version?   Or do I need to just spin open a ticket with Support..https://www.tenable.com/plugins/nessus/205024 Thanks for looking at my post and appreciate any feed back!ThanksBC

I am trying to install SP14 CV agent in Linux server (RHEL 8.8) but its stuck with error “NFS directory cannot be used”. whereas all directories as XFS. Its not allowing to install agent in any directories

HiI am trying to install a couple of Linux clients as part of an Oracle RAC Cluster backup/restore test we are running. We haven’t used Oracle RAC before so all a bit new, but when i try and install the two clients we have the install fails with this error.RNG error number from CVwhen i check the SW Cache details cannot see that it is disabled or how it could enabled/disabled etc. i can see the SW cache in the CommCell browser and no where does it give me the option to enable or disable it? In the Web UI dont even really get the to be able to view the cache (manage>system>maintenance does not include anything that calls itself an SW cache but hey why would the commcell browser and web ui call things the same!!!!!)I am at a loss as to what i need to change?Version 11.32.xx (2023E)Tha

Hi All, Recently we upgrade the CommServe from 11.24 to 11.32 and our monitoring team have advised about one of the server is not running  <CommSserve > Required service not running: Commvault Content Extractor (Instance001)<MediaAgent> Required service not running: Commvault Content Extractor (Instance001)When I am looked in Services of Windows or under CommVault process manager, I do not see any such services. Note :Upgrade went successful,  Backups/Admin jobs are running fine. I am just trying to verify or confirm before I say them not to monitor that servce.

Hi all,The limitation noted under Limitations of Linux CommServe Server (commvault.com) : So, is it saying that once you go this route of running the CS on Linux you’re stuck on that particular level of MSSQL forever, or, is it saying that we cannot patch SQL separately and Commvault will take care of security updates and such as part of normal Commvault updates?  The other question I have is the “Legacy Active Directory Single Sign-On” limitation on that same page - is this saying that SSO works for Azure or that with the RHEL CS SSO is a non-starter regardless?thanks

Currently I am on Commvault version 11.24 with SQL Server 2014 and Windows Servers 2016.Will there be any issues with upgrading it to Commvault version 11.36 which is the latest released in June 2024? Will the SQL be upgraded automatically as part of the upgrade?

Dear Alli tried to deploy PostgreSQL in both was remote and interactive installation on Linux Server using Commvault Version 11.32. latest release, however in the installation log the needed package was not found. any idea how i can get it, also i tried to redownload the Linux Packages using Commvault Console download, the job completed successfully however same issue.

There are a few companies now offering Microsoft 365 tenant configuration backups for disaster recovery. (not individual applications, the tenant configuration itself) There is the Microsoft365DSC Powershell module that can be used to do this. Wondering if Commvault has a plan to include this? Would be nice to integrate it into Commvault.

I would like to upgrade SQL Server from 2014 STD to 2022 STD, which has commvault database engine, but i couldn’t log on as it showing about wrong password.CommServe Version 11.28.115. Can i upgrade SQL Server without process of full backup Commvault DB?at ComCell, is there any option to export all setting or DB export?

We need to update our vCenter from version 8.0U2 to 8.0U3. Since I can't find anything relevant in Commvault's documentation, has anyone successfully backed up vCenter 8.0.3 with Commvault 2023E (11.32.56)?

HiAny suggestions on which FR to upgrade too? I have 4 Physical MA’s that meet hardware requirements and are running 2016 standard. The CS is also a beefed up physical machine running Server 2016 and SQL server 2016. From my reading on the community, 11.32.* might be more stable as long as I have reached the requirements. Please do not send URLs, they are very unclear to say the least. I’m just looking for personal experiences and recommendations. Cheers Neil 

Hello,We would like to upgrade our CommVault installation 11.25 to latest 11.32 release.Is it possible to make a direct upgrade ?  When i try to download the software from GUI Console, the latest feature release that can i choose is 11.26 ? I cannot choose 11.32 in the list. What can i do to obtain the latest release from Gui commvault console ?  Is it necessary to upgrade to 11.26 and after to 11.32 ?  We use SQL Server 2016, is there an automatic ugrade to SQL 2019 including in the 11.32 installer ? Thanks
