I am trying to find a solution where we can automatically deconfigure clients which have no backup history.  While also making sure we don’t mistakenly deconfigure any MediaAgents/proxies/CS/etc. We’re trying to implement a set of policies/settings that would result in decom of a server simply by disabling backup activity at the client level.I want to enable the Data Aging MM parameter to ignore cycles on backup activity disabled, so that if we disable backup activity it would prune the data after 35 days.Then I want the client to remain for some time and if it has no backup history, then I want to have it automatically deconfigured after X days.  Then we would turn on the option to delete deconfigured clients that have no protected data, so that things would eventually clean up automatically. I am trying to find a setting to deconfigure clients which have no backup history - the closest thing I was able to engineer would be:Smart Client GroupDeconfigure Client Workflow scheduled again

We’re considering changing our storage retention policy from 1 year to something less than that and we’d like to know how much storage we’d reclaim by making this change *before* making this change (to see if its even worth it). Is there a report that could tell us this? Or how could we best gauge the effects on our back-end storage of changing our storage retention policy from one year to, say, six months?

Hi,I have several NDMP jobs that I need to run but due to the hardware having a 16 NDMP connection limit, I need to allow each schedules jobs to complete before initiating the next schedule.I am aware that a workflow may be the solution but wondered if anyone had any templates or guides to create the workflow as I am at a loss with the Workflow designer.The schedule has 15 sub-clients in each and all 15 need to complete before the next schedule should run to ensure the hardware limit is not hit. Appreciate any help or guidance/ Many thanks,Rich. 

Which status we can attempt to retry the job via API. I have gone through the below link but I don't see any retry job for the respective status. Hi All, One of the customer configured the NAS Backup with NetApp SVM and enabled CIFS and NFS protocol under the same NAS client. https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/essential/add_nas_file_server.html He enabled the snap backup at Instance level on each protocol (CIFS/NFS). But whenever he creates user-defined sub-client under the specified protocol, the snap-backup was not enabled by default and need to enable by manually. Would like to understand that whether it is a behavior by design or anything I need to do extra to automate it?

We do are doing aux copy from one side to other using SD-WANThe strange behavior is that is the the copy from A to B is working fine but the other way round it is really poorThe configuration is done equalwhat can we check/do to increase also in the other way

Hello,I am about to delete a client that is a VM from the commcell as it’s not needed any longer.However I do get a warning, as below. Is it only the wording from commvault or will it actually delete all virtual machines?I hope it only delete the one chosen.But before clicking okej I hope to get some verification by someone in here ThanksHenke

The Agent Restartability matrix suggests that an Exhange Mailbox archive operation will restart from the point-of-failure. Can anyone confirm whether, at an individual mailbox level, this means that the operation will continue on from the last protected mail item, or does it start from the beginning for that mailbox?

Hello,we have a customer has commvault archiving solution, with traditional installation as below.1x cs vm in HQ site2x windows MA +index  in HQ 2x windows MA +index  in DR2x Webservers in HQ 2x Webservers in DR2x webconsole in HQ2x webconsole in DRnow customer bought  2x HSX Appliances 1x HQ, 1x DR what is the best practice to migrate the data and hardware?  im thinking of the belowdeploying the HSX with the existing CS vm  configure the HSX as MA and index nodes dash copy the data to the new HSX offload the old MAs +index  and keep the WSs and WCs as it is is this approach okay or there is a better approach? another question, if i’lll copy the data using dashcopy:will be any issue recalling/restoring the data after demoting the old MAs? will be any issue during outlook addin recalls? thanks 

Does anyone know how to retire an Index/Analysis Server that contains roles?  I can get all of the roles to remove except the last one.  I also just attempt to right-click on the Index Server entity and choose Delete, but it says that it is associated to DC Plans [ODA_DCPLAN_8534] and to remove the connection and try again.  We only have 2 plans - Threat Analysis and FSO.  There is no association or relationship I can find in the Command Center to either plan let alone any other backup plans.  All I want to do is delete the Index Server I created - there isn’t any data on it.  It had another node on it at one time, but I also removed that from the configuration hoping to tear it down one piece at a time.  Please help!  Very frustrating.  We are running Windows Server 2022 on the CS and FSO/Threat Analysis on the 2 Index Servers.  These servers are VMs.

Hi Team,i have started the NW configuration wizard for my Apollo 4200 based HSX nodes . on each node i have 6 interfaces( 2x 1G, 4 x 10G). when i create LACP bond1 in the wizard, i can see all my 6 interfaces available to choose for bond creation and i chose 2 10G interfaces for the LACP bond1 creation and tagged my VLAN to the bond1.However later i can assign “Commserv registration” OR “Management” only on this bond1, i dont see “data protection” and “storage pool” options in the list.any idea what could be causing this ? i have not configured switch link aggregation(LACP) yet , is this the reason i am not seeing data protection or storage pool in the list ?please provide your valuable guidance.

We are moving from Storage Policies to Plans and have Plans for databses where we run Transaction Log backups 24/4 each 15 minutes.  For Simple Recovery Mode subclients we only run daily Fullbackups, but when moving to a common Plan it triggers Transaction Log backups for these Simple Mode subclients as well. There are a lot of jobs with 0 bytes of data and it makes a mess. Is there a way to skip these Transaction Log backups for SQL databases in Simple Recovery Model? With a service level approach to setting up common Plans, I don’t want to set up separate Plans only for these Simple mode SQL backups. At this point I have removed all Database schedules from the Plan and configjred them separately, but this adds complexity. A sinple way to exclude Simple mode SQL from the Transcation Log schedule in the Plan would be really nice. /Patrik

Hello11.28.111We are migrating one of our VmWare clusters to Hyper-V (licensing grounds -  Broadcom)We have disk filters traditionally on our DB servers, that also do DB Agent backups, to save backing up the data twiceIn the subclient under Vmware, in the VM Disk Filters, you get a ‘Browse’ option, that allows me to select the SCSI ID of a serverIn the subclient under Hyper-V, no browse exists, just ‘Add’Now I can choose a ‘Virtual device node’, but that doesn’t seem to allow me to choose a client, so I assume this is globalThe other option is ‘Virtual Disk name’, which scares me, as this is why I use the SCSI ID, as my VM guys often move servers around, which would make this break!If anyone has experience and ideas on this subject of what we could do, it would be much appreciatedThanksMark

I’ve created the repository using the Web Server options and then added the packages as required and synchronised them.When creating a laptop user and having the invite link sent to them, the below page opens up with no packages published.  If the user navigates to the Webconsole and to the Download Centre, the packages are listed. Ideally I’d prefer the above page to be populate, but not sure when I’m missing?
