Hi,We have SP36 commserve and we tried to use the Nutanix Image with 11.36 available for download, but it doesn’t contain the /etc/initfrel_sc script that allows FREL to run. Please check the following image.https://cloud.commvault.com/commandcenter/#/softwareStore/33251The documentation appears to be out of date.https://documentation.commvault.com/2024e/commcell-console/deploying_file_recovery_enabler_for_linux_with_nutanix_acropolis_hypervisor_ahv_cluster.html I need the correct package containing the FREL activation script. HiI have a problem with a Commvault LiveSync setup running with Rocky linux ver. 8.When I am doing a test failover all is looking good. But when I am trying to do a maintaince failover, the maintaince failover fails.It is faillling under the recovery process on the standby node with the error saying “Failed to generate new CS client certificate”.  I have been trying to stop the selinux and firewall on both CS, and still are getting this error. Does any have a idea on what is the problem?

Hi Commvault experts,We are designing an archiving workflow and we’d like to get your advice on the best practices. Let’s assume the source is NetaApp with SnapLock volumes (WORM) and target LTO tape library with WORM media.Our goal is to move/archive data from NetApp SnapLock volumes to WORM tapes for long-term retention (10+ years).What is the ideal storage policy for this setup? Does it make sense to use a “staging disk” as a Primary Copy and then a DASH copy to the tapes, or is there a better workflow for WORM volumes (primary copy directly to tapes)?We are also choosing between two tape strategies. The first is a "Clean Archive" where data is written only once to save media. The second is "Periodic Fulls" where we write the full archive again every so often for better safety. Given that the source data is immutable, which approach do you recommend?Your input will be much appraciated.

Hello,We got an repmgr postgres cluster, the backup works fine when i run them manually with both FsBasedBackup and dumpBasedBackip.i have assigned a plan for the cluster client, but only the dumpBasedBackup jobs are runninng, the FsBasedBackups jobs dont even start.I would like help with that problem.

Hi team,We are building up a new infra in Azure to be responsible to back up all workloads running in Azure, which are currently managed by a Commcell running on-prem.Having that said, we want to migrate ONLY the Azure workloads from this Commcell to the new one, running in Azure. I know that Commcell migration is not supported for Azure, even on version 11.40 (we are on 11.36 latest MR): CommCell Migration - SupportReconfiguring the pseudo-clients and enabling again VSA backups, it's easy and has been done already.The problem is that there are VMs in Azure runnings DBs, where we do a combination of Filesystem and DB agents backups.What would be the quickest way to move the agents from one Commcell to another to avoid the manual work, as there are several clients? Any way that I can user Export/Import only to have the configuration done, then I can simply release the license on the old Commcell and reconfigure in the new one?I would really like to avoid this manual work, which anyway w

Hi,  We got an error message on snapshot when we tried to backup a vm with a passthrough disk. We use xcp-ng as hypervisor (XenServer). We tried disk filter with the name and the path, we added the setting bEnableDiskFiltersForXen to true but nothing solve the problem  Last backup job [98] did not complete successfully for the VM group with error: Killed by admin. As of March 15, 2026, the maximum lifetime for a TLS certificate will be 200 days. As of March 15, 2027, the maximum lifetime for a TLS certificate will be 100 days. As of March 15, 2029, the maximum lifetime for a TLS certificate will be 47 days.Certificates for the Command Center (Tomcat web server) must be manually renewed and updated.Does CV have a recommended procedure to tackle this in future or should everyone find their own solution?/Piippu

Hello Commvault Community, We have this situation:There are MS SQL servers that have transaction logs backup during the day. Full backups are made only outside working hours. Sometimes, however, it happens that during the day, for some reason (the logs show that communication with the media agent was interrupted), a broken chain is made and the transaction logs backup is converted to full.Unfortunately, we can't do full house during the day, because it overloads the source servers. What we tried to do:1. Uncheck "convert" in the subclient properties - it did nothing, the backup was still converting.2. Do a "full data management" subclient blackout window for these servers within business hours. The workaround for blackout windows should work in theory, but if the conversion takes place, the job is still process in the JobController as "transcational log" and not full (although in reality it is already full). This is probably why the blackout window does not cover this job.The question

Hi folks, I want to ask, what is your SQL restore throughputs for large DBs.We have a 8.4TB database that takes around 18hrs to restore with average throughput around 478GB/hr.Wondering if this can be improved without introducing IntelliSnap.Network is not a bottleneck. Hi,I’m testing backup of M365. I’ve setup Commvault instance 11.40.34 on Windows.I’ve added Exchange Online, OneDrive for Business - no problem.But when I’m trying to add Sharepoint Online app (throught Protect → Office 365 → Sharepoint Online - Configure now) then app is added, but it’s not Sharepoint but Exchange.I’ve setup separate applications for all apps with proper permissions according to the documentation.I just did everything similar to adding Exchange or OneDrive, tried few times with no luck. Any ideas?

Hi All,I’m hoping for some guidance from those who have completed this step of the deployment (Complete the Guided Setup for Active Directory) I want to give the service account least privileged access to the domain as I am not comfortable with giving the service account full domain admin rights as it has been suggested by the deployment team.Has anyone got a break down of steps to achieve the above in Active directory? from what I've seen looks like we need to perform some of the required permissions within ADSI Edit?Any guidance would be great especially from those who have implemented this successfully.

The M365 admin center reports my OneDrive as having 2.8M files consuming 8.1TB of space.But when I go into Commvault I see numbers that are totally different. In Commvault I see either 1) the latest backup had 3.2M active and 0.7M Inactive for a total of 3.9M files or 2) all backups with 6.6M Active and 2.0M inactive for a total of 8.6M files.Likewise, the disk space used is reported as either 1) the latest backup with 3.4TB Active and 1.6TB Inactive for a total of 5.0TB or 2) 9.6TB Active and 4.0TB inactive for a total of 13.6TB.Is there any way to drill down into Commvault to figure out why the numbers – particularly the “latest backup” file counts – are so different from what is reported by Microsoft?

Click SCOM. In the SCOM Configuration dialog box, type the fully qualified host name of the SCOM Server. Type the credentials required to connect to the SCOM Server and click Apply. Note: The credentials must be for a user who has administrator rights to the SCOM Server == The problem is: Our scom administrator don’t want to give admin permissions to an external tool which they don’t manage. (neither do I).Is there a way to implement the scom monitoring without that part? (the management pack can be loaded on the scom of course)

Is anyone currently testing the new feature of restoring Exchange messages to a Blob storage? https://documentation.commvault.com/11.42/software/restore_mailboxes_to_azure_blob_storage_account.html. Hi all. How would the procedure be, to do a Linux OS refresh from Rocky Linux to RHEL? The servers have local OS, ddb and index disks, and the MA’s have block storage mounted disks for the library.The hardware need to be reused, so I just want to reinstall OS, but keep DDB, index, library data, server name and IP, so that the server can continue operations after the Linux OS refresh.. Any suggestions on how to do this and any recommendations appreciated. Regards-Anders

Hi,Since I upgraded the CS to 11.36.83 I wasn’t able to connect with MFA option to web console and JAVA.Before the upgrade it works fine and nothing has been changed with the users and groups.I’m also tried to upgrade to 11.36.87 but still no working, when I’m canceling the MFA option we can login with no problem. Any ideas?Thanks 

Hi,I was wondering how people are scheduling backups. (for example file system backups)Do you only run incrementals and Synthetic fulls? Or do you sometimes run a “real” full?For example, 1 “real” full a month, a daily incremental and a weekly synthetic full.I’ve always heard never to “only” use incrementals and synthetic fulls, and to slip in a “real” full backup once in a while. What would be the reasoning behind it?Looking forward to hear your feedback.
