Hi all,We have a number of subclients which target our virtual server environment. These subclients select virtual machines to backup via tags.We have a couple of subclients which are currently not being used, but the option is available for them to be used. As a result, jobs against these subclients fail with a “[91:478] No virtual machines were discovered for this Subclient. Check the subclient content and configured filters.” error. This muddies our reporting even though it is intended and understood.Is anyone aware of a way to prevent these jobs from explicitly failing? Ideally, they would complete with simply zero VMs backed up. We’d like to leave backup activity enabled for these subclients and schedules targeting them in case VMs have the tags added to ensure that assigning the tag is the only action required to initiate backups.Many thanks for your time any any suggestions. 

Hello! I am running VMware VM backups via SAN transport mode. Several of the VMs have virtual RDMs. I would like to exclude them from the VSA backup and run them via FS iDA inside the VM.  How to achieve that? Regards,Pedro

Fun times ahead- I am over having multiple commcells per enviroment. It served its purpose but now with consolidations complete- I am ready to bring everything into a single commcell. So - I have read and used migrating media agent to new hardware documentation many times. Same with commcells-- but now… I am wanting to move the media agent- with all the jobs and clients-- to a new commcell. Would a seperation be the best approach? Is this possible? I am sure the instance has something to do with it -but looking for good examples. Anyone else done this? Thoughts on what you would do different? Lets talk! 

Hi Team, I have facing some issue in our infra, While try to take the backup of one Mysql Databse serverwe are getting below errorCurrent Commvault version which we are using:11.28.32Error Description:Backup of [DBname] MySQL database failed. The error message [mysqldump: Couldn’t execute ‘SHOW FIELDS FROM ‘visitor_cars_child_view2:View ‘DB name.visitor_cars_child_view2’references invalid table(s) or column(s) or function (s) or definer/invoker of view lack rights to use them(1356)] is received during backup. Could you please help on this above case  

Hi,I have a question about Additional Setting: „bSkipFreeExtentCheckOnDDBPath”. What is the parameter on the MediaAgent used for? Can safely removed? or should it stay? I can't find a description for this parameter in the documentation.  Regards,Michal

Good day.Does anyone have experience with protection workloads in a AWS AMS/MALZ environment? Are all the features supported? I heard that some features relating to agentless protection and recovery operations will not be possible due to the restrictions placed on the making use of snapshots (VSA / RDS), creating VMs/DBs, assigning permissions to resources via IAM, etc.When using the agent in-guest approach this should not be an issue as I have it.The idea is to integrate this environment into an existing on-premise Commvault deployment. I do see that there is an option to create a “Customer Managed” OU within the MALZ environment but this would still make use of some components within the Core OU managed by AWS.Any information will be appreciated.Regards,Ignes 

Is there a way to launch a task from the media agent to the remote host that I want to take as a vmware backup.I have a Windows media agent like "access node" for Vmware backupsI did a task with putty which does a stop/start of a service on a remote linux host with authentication by ssh key. it works fine from a session on the windows media agent host.I put the path of this task in the pre snap and post snap of the Vmware sub client with the same user/password that I used for the test.When backing up the subclient, nothing happens and I don't see any presnap/postsnap call or task name specified in the backup job logs.1-) is this supposed to work?2-) if so how can I follow the operation?

I am currently gathering information for a backup solution for a significant cloud workload involving 400 virtual machines in an Azure VMware Solution (AVS) environment using Commvault. The workload is expected to grow up to a thousand instances over time. Hi All, we are using the report Office365 Backup Health for tracking our O365 Backups.  Actually we get daily 4 Mails for ech type ( Exchange, Onedrive, Sharepoint, Teams ) this is stupid :) The report is good an short. I´m looking for an option to bring alle types into 1 pdf.  I trried to edit the report to click and drop everything into the main page but doesnt work.  Do you have an idear ?

Hi Team, Quick question hopefully. So if I have a partitioned GDSP. Two MA’s, one partition each.Reading from storage which is mapped locally (preferred) to one Media Agent, and then accessed by the alternate MA by Mount Oath sharing (set to read-only if it is not local). The target storage is up in the cloud. Two two ma’s have read-write access. I have my SP’s running of it, with the Data Paths set as Round-robin. For reasons unknown, when my Aux Copy runs, it is only using one of the Media Agents as a Destination Media Agent. Subsequently, one of the ma’s runs pretty hot, the other one does not. But so far, I can’t see any reason why this would be the case.To make it even more confusing, some of the Cloud mount paths have the preferred setting applied to them, but the Aux is not using it (not actually sure if its’ supposed to?). So at the moment, I literally have 50 stre

Hello,We currently use Azure Backup Center to backup our Azure VMs, but we want to cut costs, thus we intend to backup those Azure Servers to Commvault.Is it possible to perform a VM Snapshot backup of those Azure servers to Commvault? thus I don't believe installing a file system agent will not work.

When the SQL server authentication mode is modified from mixed-mode to Windows authentication mode, i can read the following in the below article :“Note: When you upgrade the Commvault software to a new version or a new service pack, you must change all Commvault services to use a domain system administrative account.”Windows Authentication for Commvault SQL Server Connectionsit means that if SQL are configured in Windows authentication mode, after an upgrade Commvault will automatically reset the SQL server authentication to mixed-mode ?regards,Christophe  

Our linux file server is a large VMware VM - 48GB RAM, 8 virtual CPUs that are running on a Intel(R) Xeon(R) Gold 6248R CPU @ 3.00GHz - and it has about 500TB of storage on it, that our linux admin has set up as 12x 60TB (max size) volumes on our SAN, that communicate back to VMware over iSCSI.We get reasonable performance with our linux users using this linux VM for day to day usage, but certain customers and projects are reaching crazy levels of unstructured file storage. We have one customer that has a folder that consumes 16TB of data, across 41 million files. And while that’s our worst offender, the top 5 projects are all pretty similar.We’ve been using the Linux File Agent installed into this VM since starting to use Commvault in 2018. We typically see about 3 hours for an incremental backup to run across this file server, with the majority of time just scanning across the entire volume, and the backup phase running relatively quickly. Hi all. I have a question regarding the Workflow Configurations (see this post:) In general I know how to use these and they work like a charm. Unfortunately I don’t have any possibility to see the configured values after setting them.E.G. I have a “configuration” with the name “TestConfig” of type String. I can set it to “Whatever” in the properties of the workflow and the workflow will use it. But if I have a look again in the properties it looks as if “TestConfig” is empty and not set.Am I missing something or is there no possibility to look at the configured values?

we are using laptop plan which was by default created , now we have requirement to remove the below alert or atelast edit send to user on the below alert No backup for last 4 days Typei dont see the alert in manage - alert - alert defenition to edit nor am getting option to remove it from plan. if i create a new plan i can see there is an option to edit it in the plan level , we can remove or add

HiI’m seeing that we add new environments to our Dynamics 365 instance, our Metallic backup doesn’t automatically add them to the backup and we have to add manual. This happens even when we have everything selected for backup.We also see that sometimes these sites show as “Not accessible” in the status.Can someone help?
