I’ve been plugging away at testing Terraform with Commvault, but I keep hitting a wall with authentication. For the sake of testing I created a user called terraform. At first, I received an error in the WebServer.log which was helpful:Exception Message:[The input is not a valid Base-64 string as it contains a non-base 64 character, more than two padding characters, or an illegal character among the padding characters.]Error when running terraform apply:│ Error: User creation failed with Error: Access denied││   with commvault_user.user1,│   on main.tf line 15, in resource "commvault_user" "user1":│   15: resource "commvault_user" "user1" {│I used https://www.base64encode.org/ to convert the password to Base64 based on an article that I found in this community.

Hi all,Wondering if by chance anyone has experience running DDB space reclamation with orphan data cleanup against a cloud library. We have a cloud library in Azure cool tier which we expect may have some data that was not pruned successfully, thus increasing our storage consumption in Azure. The deduplication database for this data lives on local storage.We’d love to run a space reclamation with orphan data cleanup against this cloud library, but we’re concerned about the possible cost of storage transactions against the Azure cool library.Has anyone performed this operation before and observed the related cloud storage costs? For reference, we have just under 100 million blobs and a total of about 400TB of storage utilization in Azure. Many thanks for any input folks may have!

I want to automate the creation/adding of new libraries, specifically such of the type “S3 compatible”. So, not a classical Disc Library and neither a Cloud Library (Like Azure or AWS).I’ve crawled through the Python Modules and the REST API but I can’t seem to find any way of adding such “S3 compatible” type library, only normal Disc or Cloud ones.Does anyone know of a way to get this done? Or have I missed something?

estoy realizando la integración del commvault & vcloud director , al finalizar la configuración del plugin , en la parte donde selecciono el hypervisor , no me muestra ninguno , por lo que estoy queriendo dar de alta en mi comserve un cliente de vcloud sin embargo no me permite ya que falla con el siguiente error :  en el parmetro vcloud director estoy colocando el hostname del vcloud sin https:// y el usuario para fines de prueba se esta intentando con todos los privilegios , el Access node es el commserve en el instale el vsa, alguien que me pueda apoyar en ver que es lo que estoy colocando mal?esta es la parte donde estoy tratando de configurar el nuevo cliente vcloud desde el commcel console 

I need to change VSA transport mode for backups of VMs from hot adds that is being used to SAN mode.  We recently installed new media agents to connected them to fiber.  What do I need to do to connect these new media agents to the libraries and switch over to SAN mode?  

My company has an enterprise subscription and I’ve been advised that the CEO’s mailbox may be greater than 100GB. If that is the case will it still get backed up in Metallic? It hasn’t been migrated yet.Thanks in advance.Gerry

We have upgraded out Commserve from FR24 to FR28.I took hours to trouble shoot and upgrade the Commserve. We dit not have time to upgrade the media agents to FR28. This will happen in the next service Window.Some of out customer upgraded the client to FR28. We are getting error in our backup.Error Code: [80:267]Description: Unsupported MediaAgent version.Solution:1. Upgrade media agents. ( not possible today,  need new change)2. Uninstall FR28 agent and reinstall FR24 agent.3. Is there additional setting to ignore FR28 version?bIgnoreVersionCheck?Any other ideas?

Hello everyone.From the process manager you can see that all the services are active, only the Commvault Tomcat Service has not started. I can't start it from the Process Manager and neither manually from Windows Services. Hi community, could help me please, i have this error, i've tried everything but i don't have connection with mediagent the auxiliary copy is waiting. Too i've test the tool utility provided in the software however the error continue. The error i have is: Drive has been marked as inaccessible on this MediaAgent. Advice: Please use the troubleshooting utility provided in the software's installation folder to perform diagnostics on this device.Best regards.

Upon attempting a 1-Touch restore on a linux box (bare metal) we get the following:ErrorPost Install Operations Failed.Error: qlogin failed.Logs available at URL: http:///Is there something simple we are missing here?I was able to use the same account to login to commserve from the 1-Touch backup source client with the credentials used in the restore, so it must be something else we are doing wrong.Any ideas? 

Good day Community,Had a cloud MediaAgent send data to an Azure blob. I was sending AuxCopies to that MediaAgent for a while now.I now added a second MediaAgent to the Storage pool, verified that all my storage policy copies have round-robin and launched an AuxCopy. But all the streams are still going only to my first MediaAgent. If I remember correctly, there might be a mapping that was done between the source and destination streamsIs there a way to force the round-robin, and override the mapping? Many thanks in advance.

Hello Team! I have a server with SAP Hana configured and although the archive log jobs are running it is not clearing the log area. The /hana/log directory has reached 99% utilization and to work around the situation I ran the "alter system reclaim log". I would like to know if there is any configuration for the log area to be cleared after the Archive Log job is completed and prevent it from reaching the limit. Thanks! 

Hi,we use Metallic to backup TEAMS.I get a warning in the log like at the attachment.What can i do to solve this?RegardsDennis

we have primary and DR servers . archive file generated on primary transferred to DR to apply the changes , after every backup before deleiting it should ensure the archive which are synced with DR  is this happening in the backend , is commvault will only delete the synced logs , how can we make sure  

Hi, Currently trying to add a recovery target for replication to my Azure storage on a different region. For the Storage Account prompt, I could see other storage accounts for that Azure region, but not the one that I have recently created. Is there any way to troubleshoot this? Where should I begin?

i would like to know what is the best way to backup and restore the sql vm which has intendant diskbackup -type 1 - vm level backup - in this the independent disk is not included type 2 -File system level backuptype 3 - database full backuptype 4 - archive backup if i have a situation where my whole environment is affected what is  the restoration procedure first vm restore then file system level restorethen db full restore then archive restore this will take hours and hours to complete , is there anyway i can take the backup and restore effectively by reducing down time can someone help me please 

How to add more disk space to the index cache volume. Can some one help and share the steps to perform this task. We have space crunch and procurred two new SSD’s to increase the space. 

Hello I’m trying to understand the versioning of Metallic towards Commvault. I assume that Metallic is just a Commvault with some GUI changes and feature limitations to improve user experience. So, I can see that Metallic agent is running at version 11.3001.36 The most adequate Commvault counterpart seems to be 11.30.23, Platform Release 2023 Preview Version  It means that Metallic users are running on preview versions with different patches or these patches were not yet deployed at Commvault? Or it works differently, how then?

Hi Everyone, I am trying to update storage policy copy retention but i am not having a much luck.In the command center you can edit the plan then edit Backup Destinations which are storage polices and it generates an Equivalent API and JSON payload, but when i post to URL it generates i am just getting a return off storagepool list.    is this the correct location post:https://mycommserve/commandcenter/api/StoragePool?Action=copyEdit what i am trying to achieve is that updating retention rule for “retainBackupDataForDays” in number of secondary copy policies. is there any sample that can help?  Thank you!  

Hello, Last week we upgrade OS from 2012 to 2022 with SQl 2019. And now i see that one of the user cannot qlogin on another client to run a script. Its saying that username or passwoord invaled. But with the same user i can log in on webinterface or command center.  EvSecurityMgr::userLogin() - Socket [0x00000000000019AC]: LOGIN ERROR: Invalid login/password attempt with UserName  With another user can i have no probleem to qlogin Now i want to create a new user but i need change from normaal password to Strong Paswoord -ps. Any idee how i do it? 

I am getting all twisted up with the groups created in LiveSync. With multiple CommServes what groups should Media Agent Agents and VSA VM’s be put into? Should they all be infrastructure as well?What is definition of internal and external? I’m using the predefined topoolgies created when turn on LiveSync. Thanks in advance.

I am hoping someone can provide clarification on the difference between releasing a client’s license and retiring that client. We have clients with backup data we wish to retain until it ages out, but the client does not need to be backed up.As I understand it, releasing the license means backups will no longer take place but backup data will remain intact. Retiring the client seems to also do this. Is the primary difference that a client can have its license re-allocated, whereas a retired client must be recreated as a new client? If this is the case, what’s the use case for retiring a client completely?Many thanks for reading and any input!
