We currently have a 10TB SAP Oracle DB on-prem, BR-Tools backup to a local disk is taking 4 hours.How to achieve the same backup completion time for the same DB in a Azure resource group to another resource group?

Hello Community, Commvault offers several ways to secure the environment. Be it Ransomeware protection, account lock after x attempts, unusual file activities. Is there an overview of what else is possible here? We need to raise our security standards and would have to evaluate all the possibilities that Commvault offers. Maybe someone of you has already discovered all the features or even uses them and can give useful tips here. Kind RegardsThomas

I have a request to run a report for all files backed up on a specific date within a specific folder.  I am either looking for a report that will show this to me or a way to have all backed up files copied to a spreadsheet.   I have tried running a file search report a Chargeback report and backup job summary report.  None of these attempts are giving me the listing that I am looking for.  Does anyone have any suggestions on what report to run or how to get the list of all of the files in a CSV?  

Hi, I would like to know how to apply the below to more than 500 systems in one go.change the “Default Sub Client Policy” - “Retention” - “For files deleted by user”  change from “Retain indefinitely” to “Use storage policy copy retention”. Cannot certainly do it manually so looking for an option to save my day and time.. Regards,Terence

We are on 11.28.44 and I noticed when we disable backup activity at the client level of a virtual machine client (which has no agents installed), there is no visual indication that activity is disabled.Is this expected?Most other clients will show red arrows to indicate that activity is disabled - but VMs don’t seem to show this.I see that I can create a smart client computer group which could group and show all of the backup activity disabled clients, but it would be nice to visually get the red arrow indication when activity is disabled without having to go to properties of the client to check.

Hello all I have multiple Backup sets I want to create a rule on the backup set level to make sure that for example VM that is a member of backup sets does not belong to others  is that possible?

We had an exchange online app running backups. the backup jobs looked fine. however the index status had fallen behind several weeks so when i went to a restore, i could not restore anything for the past four weeks. I had to create a ticket, they had to get somone on the backend to startup our index job. to catch up it took several days, during which i could not run a recent restore. is there a way to get a notification if an index starts to fall behind?

Hi... I'll try to be short... Here's the setup:- Two AIX clients in a DMZ zone.- CS connects to the clients front end NIC.- In between clients and MAs, a Backup Network is defined along with a OneWay FW. (set on the client group level) - Backups of each of the clients work as expected. CS can happily communicate with the clients on their front- end NIC and backup streams are running over the backup network as expected.- Clients are added to a UNIX pseudo cluster client. - The UNIX pseudo cluster is a VIP address (along with a FQDN name) which is owned by the active node. Issue:Backups configured for the UNIX pseudo cluster client fail as the DIP configuration for the active node doesn't seem to be taken into consideration.. Is there any way around this behavior? We need the backup data streams to originate from the DIP address on what ever node is active. CVLT v11.20.60 Any ideas? Already got ticket 210930-186 open, but unfortunately not much progress here..  Thank you for any idea you

Hi All,I have question regarding the Restore process specially for the VM Gues File system restore when done from the combined Storage Tier Cool-Archive being as used as end for long term Library.As understand, the Index and Meta data in this case will be in Cool storage and hence we would be able to Browse the data without having to run the recall workflow.Having selected the folders to restore, will the complete VM data/disk data be rehydrated from archive to tier or just the selected data?    

Hi All,Our client is planing Commvault server refresh activity were they are doing the below steps:-Built new Commserve and Media Agents (All physical server)Keep the current Commvault environment and move all the Clients to the New Commvault environmnet.Below are my queriesWhen we are building new Commserver does we need to install Microsoft SQL manullay and do we require Microsoft SQL liscense for the same?And if we are using Commvault Media kit will Microsoft SQL get insalled automatically and will that also require Microsoft SQL liscense?How can we restore old data after moving the all clients from Old Commvault environment to new Commvault environment?Please provide you inputs.

Can anyone confirm how much minimum space is required in the Data Store for taking backup.As we have approx. 450GB free space in data store still backup failed with the reason that there is insufficient space in data store. Thanks.

Hi,I am trying to delete a deconfigured client. I get the error “ Detected Media Agent platform. Delete Media Agent before cleaning up the client.”This client is not listed under Storage Resources → MediaAgents.No backup jobs exist for this client. Is there a way to forcefully remove the client? Cheers.

Hi, we have accidentally removed all attributes for backing up VMs in VCenter and we are in the process of re-adding them. Do we have the ability to create a report that can clearly explain to us which VM had which attribute and which one did not in Vcenter ? anyone know how to restore the VM’s attributes to that it was as before in VCenter ? Thanks
