Having some difficulty figuring out how to change DNS resolution for the hosted-engine in RHEV on HS 1.5. Our DNS servers have changed, and we’re decommissioning an old DC. Does anyone have any idea how this can be done?

In a Post process command file, I need to check two arguments before preforming an action. I need to check if the backup job failed (%6==2) and I need to also check the number of retries (%4==10).I have tried:  IF %6==2(IF %4==10( do action ))And:  IF %6==2 && %4==10( do action )But neither work.How do I test multiple arguments in a Post process?

Does a ubuntu KVM backup will be supported by commvault?

Does a openstack vm with some external NFS mount can be backed up using while taking vm backup.

Ceph object based storage for CEPH FS and RBD is supported? what are the different backup options availale for Ceph storage items like Ceph FS, RBD, S2 & S3. 

We are running Ubuntu Full FS backup for a client with Backup size ~18TB with ~100+ Crore numbers of files. Which is successful but the backed up date size is only ~9TB. Backup completed without any errors or warnings. There is no exclusions in the sub client content.When we are trying to restore most of the directory are showing empty which is not actually empty in the client server. Can someone suggest why this is happening ?

I’m looking for a way to edit the outgoing mail from a scheduled report, somthing like for the alert emails.It doesen’t seem it’s possible, i’ve looked in both the console and webconsole.I guess it’s possible with a workflow, but the learning curve for that seems very steep. I’ve tried it but abandonded it due to lack of skills/understanding.Another way is to use powershell to send the email and fetch the report from a local destination. But if it’s kept in Commvault it would be administrativly easier, maybe.The reason for this is that our Incident system use some XML to configure incidents.Anyone have any idea?//Henke

Hello.We need to change the mail recipient of the master to a mailbox.As far as I can see, this can only be done by editing each alert one by one and changing at Users and Users Groups Selection and changing To: from master to mailbox.Is it not possible to make this change to all alerts at once?Thank you very much.Regards

Hi, I conifged Azure client with SQL Server agents but I cannot discover any DB in subclient. Client status ready and I didnot collect logs. What can I do? 

We are a law firm that is backing up our Sharepoint file storage sites. We are wondering if there is a way for us tobe able to search the backups for a file or folder once they are backed up.

I am currently facing a problem. We have removed the full backup from our FileServer backup before a migration attempt that went wrong in 2021 with an extension of the retention period. This backup is currently on our backup storage. This backup storage is to be replaced this year and I would like to copy these full backups to our object storage. Using another Selective Copy, I cannot select these jobs from the Primary Policy for a copy.  We are currently still using Commvault 11.20.30.Is there any other way to do this ? 

HiWe have CV11.28.24 on CS server currenlty running one physical server, we want to shift this CS server to new server hardware because currenlty CS server hardware running other application and we want to seperate CS server from this applicaiotn.For new CS server want to have new IP and new name becaue current CS name and IP we want to keep as ii is for applicaiont. Current CS servcer and the new CS server will be member of AD domain.Now what are the steps to move current CS server to new server hardware with new IP and new name Thanks    

I have a customer that is looking for clarity on a port requirement question(s) Scenario:2 sites primary and secondary site A Primary site B DR Data backups from site A to B (Aux\Dash copy synchronous)  Commserve LiveSync  enabled Requirement if site A goes down that site B will need to recover all the VSA VM backups from site B copies of site A bkups. The question is what ports need to be opened to accomplish this since there will be a firewall between the two sites. Will all traffic need to be bidirectional or can some of the port connections be established solely with one way connection? I did point them to the commvault documentation:

Dear Friends, we are running a SQL Server restore out-site, we are observing that the process creates a dump file in the commvault installation path, this generated us problems because it filled the C drive.According to the above I have two doubts:1. why is this dump file created?2. how can I move this file (dump file) to another path with more space?Thank you very much for your help.

Hi there,Having an issue with a client where their tape media is not being seen by Commvault. In the process of renewing support, but it’s rather urgent so wanted any troubleshooting tips in the meantime. They’ve reset the library, done various scans, recreated the client with a different name, and tinkered on the library itself (HP autoloader w/ LTO-7) to confirm the tapes are seen by that.Tapes show up on the autoloader fine, but aren’t being seen by CV, still missing “Media in Library”.What could be the issue? Any tips are appreciated :)  

Is there any uninstaller or cleanup tool available for commvault windows clients.Many times, it is impossible to clean the traces which creates a lot of problems.

HI Team, I have a question. If someone changes the time on commserve, will it impact my retention? i know we usse the concept of cycle that can be really good option against it. but still, just want to confirm that we don’t have cycle concept then will it impact our retention ?

We have a primary commserve and vcenter. We have multiple sites each with a physical media agent, esxi servers and netapp as storage. The media agents talk back to the primary vcenter to back up the local vm’s at each site. For some reason jobs started failing at one site, it was working before but now I am seeing the following error: Error Code: [91:465]Description: Unable to connect to vCenter server [VCENTER] as user [CVSERVICEACCOUNT] from access node [REMOTEMEDIAAGENT]. [Unable to connect to the remote server]Source: REMOTEMEDIAAGENT, Process: vsdiscoveryNow from this remote media agent, I am literally able to log into the vcenter using the service account. So this does not make any sense why every job is failing with the above error message. Does anyone know what I can check or do to help resolve this?  

HiDo we have an object lock feature in commvault other than WORM.We are planning to send auxiliary copies to Cloud(AWS). We are under the assumption that by enabling object lock feature on S3 bucket. The Data Aging will be interrupted or the data cannot be expired properly.Is this assumption correct? If yes, what is the other way to make the data immutable.
