Hello, has anyone using used the SnapArray feature of Metallic with Netapp and if so, what are the required privileges on the Netapp? Is is it vsadmin, vsadmin-backup,..?Thank you. The documentation is not clear on this.

Hello,I have a PLAN PLAN_A this plan uses a Cloud Library S3 Cloud_A bucketA and two media agent ma_A_01 and ma_A_02 I created a new PLAN PLAN_B using a Cloud Library S3 Cloud_B bucket B and two media agent ma_B_01 and ma_B_02 I have a client using PLAN_AI’ve changed the PLAN from PLAN_A to PLAN_BWhen I try to perform a fulll backup Commvault try to get some informations from Cloud AError Code: [62:1544] Description: Error occurred in Disk Media, Path [bucketA /QLS8R7_03.04.2025_08.08/CV_MAGNETIC/V_216828] [[Cloud] Access denied.]. For more help, please call your vendor's support hotline. Decommissioning of primary snapshot copy and Media Agent for primary copyI currently have a Netapp IntelliSnap backup configured with snapvault.   I want to decommission the Media Agent as well as delete the primary snapshot copy and keeping/retaining the secondary copy which is in a Netapp arrap I intend to keep.  The primary snapshot copy is located in a Netapp array I plan to decommission.Questions1. How to i deconfigure the MA involve with the primary snapshot copy and primary streaming copy so I can finally decommission the Media Agent and its associated disk library2. How do I go about deleting the primary snapshot copy so I can then decommission the Netapp array where the primary snapshot copy is located3. Is it possible to promote the snapvault copy as primary snapshot copy?Note all primary snapshot copy can be deleted/removed. We are keeping the secondary snapshot copy/Snapvault copyAny answers to the questions is appreciated

We have a 4 node cluster where 1 node is primary and 3 standbys, i have configured cluster backup, the version is 11.32.43.when i try to do FsBased backup and it fails with "primary and secondary postgress server state is not currect look in logs for more" in the postgresIFind log it says Attach_RemoteCommand failed with error 0xE8090010And therefore he cant get the status of the primary

Hi all, I’d like to ask for clarification regarding the upgrade process of a Linux Media Agent in Commvault.When upgrading from an older version (e.g., 11.24) to a newer version such as 11.36.60, is it required to perform the upgrade locally from the Linux server, or is it possible to upgrade the Linux Media Agent remotely through the CommCell Console?Also, when preparing the installation media, is it necessary to download the full Unix media kit (e.g., 11.36_Unix.tar) or is it sufficient to use just the maintenance release package (e.g., 11.36.60_Unix.tar)?I’ve encountered the following message when copying to software cache:Copy hotfixes is skipped for [C:\temp\linux113660\11.36.60_Unix.tar] because the media is not available for it.Any advice or best practices for upgrading a Linux Media Agent would be greatly appreciated. Good day  I am familiar with a Domain Name Change on a Commserve using the Name Management tool.I have Livesync enabled and just want to clarify how that option would work.On both Commserves I will add a DNS entry with the new domain name.When I run the Domain Name change, that change will update instance001 of the Primary Commserve. I assume that the 3rd page of the wizard will show me instance002 of the Primary and Secondary Commserves and I can push the update there.How would I update the domain name on instance001 on the Secondary Commserve? Does Livesync take care of that or is there another option I should use?I hope that makes sense.

hi guys, we have about 20 brand new LTO9 media (calibrated) inserted int Quantum scalar i3 library, which is directly connected to the media agent (hyperscale node x with os rocky) , about 10 tapes had assigned a - Media exceeded the "No. of Media Label Errors" threshold. , when i click to media verification i have a warning message - media in library does not have a valid media label which means that is was not written to by this product.any solution ?    

Hi. I’ve tried a bunch of report to get a detailed report of storage usage. I’ve used this one:Estimated Storage Utilization By Policy Copies or DDBs or Libraries. I know it’s an estimate, but if I add up all the used space for every client, there’s about 30% difference between the storage usage according to CV vs the report. CV says 490TB, reports says 330TB. I’ve tried a couple other reports and they all have the same 330TB approx.Since it’s cloud storage, the $$$ involve here is significant

Hi All, we are running SP32 envoirmoemnt and want to migrate to SP40. We installed an new windws server 2022 and downloaded the cv sofwtare but we cant install the commserve componenente. We picked all in one commserve advanced but there are no commserve componnents.  After the SQL Server installation we get the window wich commcell do you want to join but we picked create an new one.   and than directly that:  One of my collueg means the fresh SP40 instalaltions are only possible under linux ???

Hello,Guys i have a problem with Cleanup with Quota, we set to start at 50% and stop when it became 25%.the mailbox limited with 2 GB and it was consumed by 59%.Archive job started then cleanup job started and finished when mailbox utilization became 10%. I believe the quota option not working while all the conditions are right.  Please Help  

Hi.I am planning for the migration of TSM (Spectrum Project) backup data to Commvault.I have a couple of questions around the configuration:1. For backup data from Linux TSM clients, a Linux Commvault Proxy/Staging client is required?2. Same as above for Windows TSM clients, then a Windows Commvault Proxy/Staging client is required?3. Do these staging clients need the Web Server and Index Store package installed or can this run centrally from the CommServe?Please add anything that should be considered.  Thanks.Ignes

Hi Commvault users, Regarding backing up VSA’s (proxy servers) that are used for VM image backups. Do you recommend backing them up ? if so Daily, weekly etc.Being just proxy servers I’m guessing there is no real need to back them up if you can build a new one quickly. Any advice is welcomed.  Kind RegardsTerry   

Dear Team, We are planning to upgrade to a new CommCell server with an updated Commvault license.The current CommServe is a physical server running on Windows Server 2012, functioning as both the CommServe (CS) and Media Agent (MA) and additionally the commvault license End of support.As part of the upgrade: We will deploy a new virtual machine with the latest Windows OS to serve as a dedicated CommServe. A new physical server running Oracle Linux OS will be provisioned as the Media Agent. I have 2 FREL’s in my environment and we use this FREL as VSA proxies as well to share the load between other 2 VSA proxies. After upgrading this FREL’s to 11.28.107, we see VM backups fails with the error “The virtual machine [] did not pass the disk size validation. If this issue persists, please contact your vendor support hotline”.I have VCenter level configuration for VM backups and I have 7-8 Subclient and each subclient have 15-20 VM’s in it.When the backup get triggers for this subclient as per schedule, at least 6-7 VM’s fails with this disk size validation issue. Once this VM’s fails, I re trigger them one by one and backup completes without and issue.Can someone tell me, what can be done to resolve this issue completely.
