Hi Guys,,I am working on to create a workflow to automatically re-run the failed backup jobs. I have started creating a test workflow but seems to be a complex task. Has anyone worked on a similar workflow in Commvault ? Regards,pank1988

Dear community,We are currently implementing HPE StoreOnce with two MediaAgents. At the moment, the same StoreOnce device shows up twice in Commvault (one entry per MediaAgent). Jobs are working, but for HA and load balancing, should best practice be to add StoreOnce as a single library/store and associate both MediaAgents, or keep separate StoreOnce entries per MediaAgent?Additionally, ideally we need to separate specific backup workloads (e.g., VM backups handled by MA1, database backups by MA2). Hi all,is there any way or feature whith which we can nearly 100% automatically validate our backups of VMs, DBs (MSSQL and/or Oracle) and maybe File Shares?Also the jobs/validations should be documentated within an report or something else.More and more frequently our customers are asking for such a kind of process/feature.In the past we walk through PoCs to handle the request with features such as Virutal Lab or VM Validation.But this kind of "automation" is not what the customers are looking for. Furthermore this way is missing the function of "randomization" of the to be restored objects (VMs).Do you have any experience with that request?

Hello,What are other users of Commvault powershell module opinion of the module.I am disapointed. I was hoping for a well working modle, but it is a struggle. Commands  aren’t logical, not following powershell best practices. Help is minimal and examples of commands are missing.No where I can find that it is work in progress.My opinion is that Commvault need to either put an effort in developing the module to a working module or state that it is a “Work in progress -- beta” module.//Henrik

I’m in the process of testing a new deployment and looking to enable Post Quantum Cryptography, building it out in my lab to confirm how it all works and following the process in documentation here: Enabling Post-Quantum Cryptography Config is an “all in one” with the CS & webserver on the same server on 11.40.10 media. Hello,As the title says I’m trying to automate the installation of dozens of clients using API. For that I need to make sure I can select "Client Group", "CommServe/Gateway hostname" and "Storage Policy". Especially the “CommServe/Gateway” given we’re using proxies and that the client computer won’t directly connect to the Commserve:“Client Group” is also vital because of the way we have things set up. If the client doesn’t fall in the right client group it won’t communicate.I’ve been looking at this documentation but I don’t see mention of these fields there:https://api.commvault.com/docs/SP36/api/cv/FileServerOperations/post-install-client/Can you please help me understand if this is possible? Thank you very much for your help and have a nice day. Best regards,  

When is NVMe over FC support going to be released by Commvault?

I need clarification on how Commvault encrypts passwords during the Linux agent installation process. Specifically, I would like to know if there is a way to encrypt a password (similar to what happens during installation) so that we can integrate with CyberArk for password rotation.The goal is to rotate the password in CyberArk, then encrypt it in the same manner Commvault does, and finally update the salt(using to automate agent install) with the encrypted value.I noticed there is an encrypt binary being called and also references to an update_pkginfo file, but I couldn’t find any documentation on how to use them for this purpose. Ideally, I would like to avoid having to manually reinstall the Commvault Linux agent every 6 months or so just to get the updated encrypted password to align with CyberArk and AD.Could you please provide guidance or documentation if this can be achieved?

Hi,I'm facing an issue after deploying the CommServe OVA on a Linux-based system (Rocky Linux) under VMware.After deployment, when I check the services, I get the following error:systemd-coredump[55307]: Process 54709 (dotnet) of user 0 dumped core. The CVWebserverBridge service is shown as N/A in the Commvault services list, and I’m unable to get it to start.I’ve tried replacing the embedded .NET runtime with various versions (e.g., 8.0.14, 8.0.16), but the error persists. This leads me to believe the issue may be with the OVA itself, or the image might be corrupted or misconfigured.I'm currently using Commvault version 11.40.Has anyone encountered a similar issue, or is there an updated OVA or workaround available?Thanks in advance.

Hi all,I'm currently reviewing our Commcell’s Infrastructure Load Report and I have noticed the following:For the Linux MediaAgents, physical memory usage is around 15%, while virtual memory usage is approximately 70%. For the Windows MediaAgents and the Commserve (also Windows), both physical and virtual memory usage is similar.I'm wondering if this difference with the Linux MediaAgents indicates an underlying configuration issue or if it is simply the standard way Commvault operates in this environment.Also, at what point should I consider the memory usage to be a critical performance issue?Thanks!

Hi together, currently CV 11.40 does not support the Backup on VMs that are running on kubevirt/Kubernetes. https://documentation.commvault.com/11.40/software/protecting_kubernetes_with_commvault.html Are there any plans to support kubevirt? Regards.Michael

Details of the Error  Error Message: "Failed to connect to virtual machine host  as user Failed to connect to virtual machine host as user  from access node . Please ensure that the access node is able to communicate with the host and that the user account and password are correct. Both the Physical server of Hyper -v and backup server are in the domain and the VM inside the hyper -v is in workgroup. 

It could be nice, when I choose a Restore point to view a summarize of the Exchange On Line mailbox content (size, item count, and so on). It helps to understand, for example, if a user deleted a lot of email from one restore point to another.It could also help a browsing feature (day by day should help) into Backup Stats for having a quick sight between days. Thank you

Hello, I am testing some restore of DevOps but when i am trying to restore something i am seeing only restore of Repository and not Board or pipeline. Hoe is its working? 

HiI am trying to setup a Commvault LiveSync with ver. 11.40.23 where the CommServ are running on Rocky Linux 9.5 (with the newest patches etc.). When I am looking at both Commvault SQL server databases they are in “ready” state. And I have been able to run file system backup without any issues using the Commvault media agent, that will be used with the server plan, that I have made for this LiveSync setup.I am able without any issues to create a DR backup, but when I am trying to enable the Commvault LiveSync then the first replication ends with this error:Error code: [30:325]Description: Error encountered during backup. Hi,Quick question.Currently running version 11.32.xWhen using Java client we can select how many number of streams the restore should use, or to preserve or remove source path.When using web command center for the restore, those options are not available. the only thing we can chose is the destination server, path, ACLs and unconditional overwrite.Is there a way to have the option to preserver or remove source path when using web command center?  

hello guys,first time deploying commvault with nutanix AHV, after deploying the qcow2 frel image the process doesn’t seem to take the deployment script :CS_IP_OR_FQDN=commserve.domain.localCS_SHORT_NAME=CommServeClientNameCS_USERNAME=adminCS_PASSWORD=YourPasswordFREL_CLIENTNAME=FREL-AHV01ROOT_PASSWORD=StrongRootPassw0rd!i want to precise that as of now the vm does not take an ip, ipam or dhcp is not configured. root password is not applied, so can’t access the vm, tried to reset it using rd.break or other methods without any success, what’s frustrating is that i have no point that i can use to start troubleshooting.using CV 11.40AHV FREL 11.36 

We have multiple orchestrated replication groups that we need to disable when work is done on the target virtual centre. Currently we have to disable every replication group on its own. Does anyone know of a way to disable adn enable all replcaition groups with a script or workflow?

We are getting Error code: 40:65 on all of them but they were working prior, and we confirm that the user we used has full access to the NFS share. Dear all, We are new with Nutanix, and company has the need of integrating Nutanix 7 with our commvault platform. We are using 11.32 and base on documentation it’s supported. Our concern is whats the component that we have to add during the integration?Prism Central IP Prism Element IP (nutanix node) Base on all the documents we have read we still have many doubts. what is the difference here , do we need to perform both?Enabling Ransomware Protection for a HyperScale MediaAgent, vs Enabling Ransomware Protection for a HyperScale Cluster and in the documentation its says Ransomware protection is automatically enabled on new installations of the HyperScale X Reference Architecture. but recently i have done a deployment and its not enabled by default
