Hello community,We have a three node Oracle RAC cluster that we are having problem adding a node.   One of the server fails to add into the cluster in commvault because it detects it with an index V1 instead of V2.    I assure you that this server never had version 10 software installed.  All three servers were provisioned at the same time and all have started with 11.20.  The commserve is now on 11.28.32 and I suspect it might be a bug on this newest version that somehow detects it as V1 instead of V2.  The reason I believe it is a bug is because we had all three servers in the cluster before and as part of DR testing we switch back and forth between another three servers.  We just switched to this cluster this morning, and the last time we switched away from this cluster was when we were still in 11.20. The IndexingVersionStatus.xml report that I downloaded from the content store to load into the web console does not work for us.  It spews out errors that is not helpful at all, i.e,

Hello Community just wondering if CV supports point-in-time restore for mssql db when it has block-level backup configured for the dbsif so, once we restore that first job, can we only need to restore tlog backups to keep the destination DB up to date ?or can we schedule db clone ?

I'm curious to hear if there are plans to organize a Commvault GO event this year. Also keen to see how many from the community would attend if this get's organized. Would be nice to meet some of you in person.

Hello Team, Backup type: FSbasedDatabase version: 13.8 and 11.17CV version: 11.26.36 Is it possible to perform a restoration of FSbased PostgreSQL backup (instance1) to a different server with different instance name (instance2) ? (where we have different instance name and OS linux users)  Will the copy operation from CV backup server to instance2 work? If it works, will it have file permissions same as instance1 ?If not, then how do we handle this scenario. A typical example, we would like to copy a database from one instance to another.  Regards,Kamal

I’m new to CV and still trying to sort out Commcell Console versus Command Center, so I appreciate your patience.  After 4 years with Veeam and two decades with Data Protector, Commvault is proving to be quite a different animal.My first concern is why it takes googling some arcane code (ActivateHPECatalyst) to enter in the Commcell Console properties to make visible the StoreOnce option for library creation in the UI.  What is the rationale for hiding the StoreOnce option in the first place?Now that I’ve added a Catalyst-backed disk library in Storage Resources > Libraries via Commcell Console, I go back over to Command Center, look at Storage > Disk, and I do not see my new disk library.  How then am I supposed to add it to anything as a backup destination?

Hi there,I have a quick question. I need to reset tape library to apply new changes, but some aux jobs are still running and I need them to be continued after resetting the library. So, should I put the aux jobs to suspanded state or rather then  to put the tape library offline for the maintenance and then reset it? The key thing is not to lost progress of running aux jobs.

Our new SAN for CommVault Disk library is Dell PowerScale H7000 OneFS, the library in production is NetApp 2750. We use Windows 2019 MA and ISCSI LUNS on NetApp. Since PowerScale H7000 doesn't support iSCSI LUNS  and Sealing DDB or Creating new Disk Library > Global DDB > New Primary is not the preferred path.  Is it possible to create new path on current disk library the path on SMB share on DELL OneFS and disable the writes on all local ISCSI path’s with option checked  “Prevent data block references for new backup” we could do this to all local disk at once or gradually. Our retention is 90 days on this SP. So could I delete those paths after jobs age out and continue using path on SMB share.

Hi Guys, I am creating the RHEV pseudo-client with the Customer.We have noticed that during creating RHEV pseudo-client, Commvault uses port 80 (http) to comunicate with RHEV Manager. Port 80 (http) is blocked by the firewall. They use only https (port 443) in the environment due to some safety restrictions. Is any way to force Commvault (VSA) to use port 443 during creating RHEV pseudo-client? Rgds,Kamil

Hello, I need your help ;-)i was asked to prepare tabled report showing Front End data stored in local library (NetApp).I already explained the difference in logical and physical use, but my management still wants to see the list of everything that will sum-up to 297 TB.I tried the chargeback report but it's showing me data from Jun last year.  Does anyone know how can I achieve this goal?

Hello Community,  the source db has mssql native replication configured and it being replicated from one site to anotherCan we backup this source db /destination replica via Commvault mssql agent while sql native replication running? Can those two operations co-exist and is there any limitation on this type of config?

I have a productive commcell, where all mount path supports drilling of holes (Sparse). When I open a mount path property in Windows, I can see "Size on disk" is much more smaller than the "Size" of the folder. The whole partition smaller than the "Size" of the folder, but of course, larged than "Size on disk".I installed a test environment, where all mount path also supports drilling of holes (Sparse). Scheduled or manual backups are succeed and stored on mount paths. But when I open a mount path property in Windows on test MA, then I can see the "Size" and the "Size on disk" are the same. Or "Size on disk" is a bit larger. If I check a file with "fsutil sparse queryflag", then I get the response: "This file is NOT set as sparse"My question is, when backend file sizes start to decrease? When will be sparse set on backup files, what stored on a sparse supported mounth path?

I have one customer using mdaemon email solution which is hosted & managed by a cloud provider.He needs to have a backup of all his incoming & Outgoing emails.Does Commvault/metallic support Mdaemon archival?

Need help in sending snmp traps for backup failures of only few storage policy to a seperate trap servers We have current configuration,where all alerts are sent to a trap serverOne customer wanted to get alerts only for their servers(shared environment where we backup servers from multiple customer in single commcell) to a seperate trap server.we cannot add their trap server in destination trap as they will recieve all alerts. Could you please help us how to achieve this.

Hi Everyone!A colleague (Who already had commvault installed) needed to re-install macOS Mojave 10.14.6 and used a “Time Machine” to restore his Laptop completely. -We do not use Commvault for making a full image of ours Laptops but just for User’s folders-This colleague tried to re-install commvault and he always get the following error over terminal:MacBook-Pro:Unix ironman$ sudo ./cvpkgaddUsing update installer /Users/ironman/.gxsetup/cvpkgadd/newinstall:v1182333Error in checksums: 112590792 is different from 2761742995 Commvault still have all his backed up files and we are wondering if there is a way to just re-install commvault in his MacBook without losing\deleting any of his data.Any ideas or suggestion?Thanks in advance for your time. 🙂
