Hello, this might not be enough info but I’m trying to restore a VM and keep getting this errorError Code: [91:32]Description: Unable to register virtual machine [SERVER]. Possible reason includes datastore was not mounted correctly.Source: CVMA01, Process: CVDLater these errors only occur: Error Code: [32:392]Description: Volume Operation in Progress : [One or more volumes are being processed by other operation. VolumeId [543702]]Source: CVMA01, Process: CVDI have the job log files but can’t really make sense of it. Its pretty much nothing but errors and fails. 

Hi there! Could you please explain here why there is discrepancy between Application Size and Total Data to Process in the Job Controller view? My assumption is that there are some leftovers from previous backups, that need to be backed up/to be copied. Or is there any other reason?

Hello, I need to know the minimum permission to be able to see a server in a user webconsole please? I see “end user access” in a role’s permissions, but clicking it + view permission is not enough (and associating this role with the client) I can allow this access by setting the user as owner of the client, but is there a possibility through roles please? It would be more easy and efficient for me to manage it at this level. Thans in advance. Regards.

Hello Commvault Community,Referring to my previous topic which was marked as resolved. Link below.  The problem reappeared. There was single problem with the job, but it worked properly later. However, looking back to the past, this problem occurs cyclically all the time, for no major reason. This time it showed up with a specific error code. On June 3, an error occurred while generating the HealthCheck report. (screen 1-2). The problem was marked with error code 35:481 - the description is very general and does not indicate any particulars.I have reviewed the logs initially, but I cannot determine what the problem may be. Hello all,the topic at hand is well discussed here in parts.Other that discussed there, we have a slightly different situation. Here, VMs which consume socket licenses from old / non-existing Hypervisor hosts are decomissioned as well. Hence a Full / Synth Full, which would release the license, is not possible.So deleting the jobs would be the only way? For yearly backups of those VMs this is not an option. What would be the best way resolve this? Would creating a new subclient and moving the VM to that be a good way? Any other ideas? All help is appreciated.Thanks.

Hi All, maybe you have an idea. We have the problem that all laptops and workstations are re imaged with sccm. So The clients get an new operating system. What happens in the commcell is that we get duplicate clients. new Clients are generated with name xxx____1 . When you check the backup history for both clients you can see that new clients are backuped to the new object. The problem is that the users cant access there old data. The strange part here is that not all clients with the new name xx____1 have the new backups. Hello Commvault Community :) I’m trying to set-up backup for GlusterFS. I have v11FR22 (11.22.17). On sub-client level I can do “discover” and I’m able “to see” GlusterFS resources, but I can not backup them. During backup I have error message: “glusterfind command could not be executed on host : [localhost] volume : [/mnt/gv06-sec/] due to error : [Function failed during execution. (ERROR_FUNCTION_FAILED.1627), glusterfind command failed. Hi Folks,I have interesting situation about aux copy. I’ m doing DASH copy from one Disk Library to another Disk Library. Despite the successful completion of Aux Copy, 4 jobs remain in "Partially Copied" status. I ran Data Verification on Primary Copy for 4 Jobs and it completed successfully. I did Re-Copy but it stays the same, I did Do Not Copy - Pick for Copy but it's still the same. All Backups is selected in Copy Policy. What should I check?Best Regards.

HiBackground: Our backups are stored on a Data Domain and the Data Domain replicates itself to a remote site, additionally we've got daily snapshots on the data domain itself to prevent backup data deletion (these snapshots can only be deleted using the sysadmin account).Because we use Data Domain we are storing our backups without compression or deduplication. But my question can be the same for the following situation:Lets assume I've got a media agent, with a data disk (where the disk library is on) attached to it. the building catches fire and I am only able to unplug the data drive. I loose everything expect for the data drive. If I install a new commcell, can I then import the backups from that data drive somehow?

Hi all,I would like to discuss the topic about Maximum and Fixed Number of Readers (Stream Readers). This option can be set up at Schedules window (Auxiliary Copy Job Options).Is there any rule, that says when there is  better to have Maximum number of stream readers or just set only one allow stream reader? Especially for NDMP and ordinary File System agent aux jobs?

Good Morning, I have been asked to produce a report for a single subclient to show growth on our file server over time and the amount of data that is going into our archive. I’m a bit clueless how to do this, but I obviously know it is possible because I can see the data I want to report on. Any tips which report I should start editing so I don’t have to create everything from scratch? John

HiA single partition DDB outgrew its SSDThe simple solution was toadd a spare SSD and partition the DDB - to now have two active partitionThis has resulted the second ‘empty’ DDB growing a little, but the original partition has remained almost full (due to some infinite retention clients) Is there any way to ‘re-balance’ the DDB’sI could perform a full reconstruction (from disk, not from a DDB backup) - That's going to take 2-3 days to completeI wondered whether there was a ‘hidden feature’ or a workflow that could dynamically ‘equally balance’ the space used by the DDB - to be equal across both SSDs Many Thanks

Hi Fellas, Sometimes I see CvDiagnostics.log under the Commvault log directory and it says that a lot of information about the server is collected in the log. CvDiagnostics ran once, maximizing server CPU and causing application interruption. Why is this process running automatically? Best Regards.

Hi all! Jobs related with storage policy, that backs up data directly to the tape (primary copy to the tape) start with failing error output No resources/ No Resource: AllocatedHowever, there should be enough tapes in the scratch pool. Nothing useful found in logs of the job.Do you have any ideas what could be wrong there?

ok, so I’m trying out activate - file storage optimization, with a tenant admin user.I gave the tenant admin the data controller permission on the index server & of course on activate.The tenant admin can create the plan just fine, but the ‘inventory’ part is a problem.If I click add inventory , I can fill in the name, I can select the index_server, but the name server...nothing is there in the drop down box (if I just press save without name server, nothing is being created.Any idea what I’m missing?   

We have a multi-tenant environment running on vSphere 7, backing up to Commvault 11.21 with VSA. Some of the tenant networks have no DNS service. Some of them have no domain, only Windows workgroups. Some of the tenant VMs without DNS require agent backups.I know we can work around this with host file entries on the client, and substituting client IP addresses for client FQDN on the CommServe. We want a more permanent solution that allows us to migrate the CommServe and MediaAgents without needing to update host files.If I deploy a Commvault Network Proxy Appliance to each tenant network, what hostnames and IP addresses will still need to be resolved? Does the client then only need to forward- and reverse-lookup the network proxy?
