Does Commvault support Sybase DB 12.5.1 agent that will run on a Windows 2003 VM ?

Hello,I have two Tape library, old with LTO4 tapes and new Tape library with LTO7 tapes.I created an Aux copy separately for each storage policy and successfully copied the content from LTO4 tapes from old Tape library to LTO7 tapes on new Tape library.We plan to shut down the old Tape library soon.When that happens, will I be able to do a Restore normally from LTO7 tapes to which content from old LTO4 tapes has been copied?Best regards,Elizabeta 

We are trying to perform a backup with Intellisnap of an Oracle database and once the backup is successfully completedin commvault, the RMAN catalog does not register this backup.we have configured the subclient with the data from the catalog (which is on the same server and at the same time is the proxy) and the following documentation:https://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11/article?p=35457.htm But even so, the backups are not reflected in the RMAN catalog. Any idea what might be going on? Regards.  

Hi there! There is a System Created DDB Verification schedule policy (Data Verification). In our case it starts everyday at 6AM. Is it possible to decrease the frequency of the schedule to e.g. once a week without any risk?What is the optimum value of the System Created DDB Verification schedule policy? I am asking because there is a quit big amount of data to be proceess during this task, which can reduce the performance of other tasks.

HiWe just have implemented a mailbox backup for a Exchange online in Azure. (Office 365)We are using a proxy (access node) to back up the data.I want to create multiple subclients for dividing the mailboxes.Subclient for users A till FSubclient for user G till Ketc..But I do not have the option to create multiple subclients for mailboxes.  I can not create multiple subclients.Do I miss something or is there another way to do this? Thanks in advance 

Hello There.I have a question regarding the new Indexing CVSolr that was announced for SP22.One of the features is to be able to create an Index Cloud and add nodes as the environment grows as opposed to previous indexing that required all nodes to be added upfront and once done you couldn't add new nodes to the Index Cloud once created.I searched the documentation (SP22 / SP23 and SP24) and did not find any reference of that CVSolr new indexing but the documentation sill states that nodes cannot be added to an Index Cloud once created. Anyone ideas ? ThanksAbdellatif  

After updating one of my Media Agents to service pack 22.27 this morning, Commvault decides it needed to reconstruct the DDB on that MA.  How can I tell what instigated/initiated the rebuild?

Goodmorning family pls am kind of new to commvault, Now my question is what happen once AUXCopy has been copy to tape will data on media server  backup still remain?and if it remain then can i manually delete those data on it? because most of the mounth path luns has been fill up waiting for ageing to effect and the rate by which our data increase is too fast because is a big environment. i check our VM retention policy is set to 30day am thinking if it less risky to manually delete some data off from this disknote we have 5 HQ media server with 80TB each with 10TB each LUNs 2 DR media servers also.

Nice day, some tapes are not available in the scratch pool, although they are physically present in the library. He tried to move them to the library and did a full scan, but it didn't help. What can be done to make them available? 

We are using a tape environment for our backups. One of the issues i have with commvaults storage policy is that it doesn't really have a difference on how it does full backups. Our retention cycles are a daily backup (Differentials) of 7 days 1 cycle, weekly full 28 days 1 cycle, and a monthly full with 1095 days +. Currently with how the storage policy is set up it is running to the default, all the data is being dumped to one tape and usually has monthly, daily and weekly data on the same tape. I notice when i pull my monthlies i sometimes will see that the weekly fulls and daily are eating up space that could be used to fill more monthly fulls unto the tape.I was wondering what would be the best practice to separate the monthly full away from the other backup retentions of the storage policy?  Would it be something along th3e lines of creating an aux copy in the storage policy and just copy the last weekly full to the aux copy to separate the monthly full from the other data? or is

Have a nice day, please advise how to create one-time backups of all clients and put these backups on specific tapes and leave them there without data aging. I want to create some kind of archive.

Hi all,I have a client still running v10 (yes, I know ...their call) and last year new additional storage was configured in their CommCell (2 sites). A new library and mount paths were created in each of the sites and new Primary and DASH copies created with data paths to the new storage in the respective sites.I’m finding that the storage for the Primary copy in their main site is filling up and there is nothing obvious in the forecast report. Is there such a setting in v10 which corresponds with the Enable Physical Pruning in v11? Thanks in advance.JamieK  

Hi All, I am trying to migrate the old CommCell environment (11 sp15) to the new CommCell enviroment (11 sp20). I would like to move agents and data without the policies ( I would like to create the new backup polices). I am wondering if that is possilble, what route should I go and what support documents should I follow if any? Thanks!

HiSeveral “Blaclout Window” are configured in the system. All of a sudden, everything stopped working. Put the last hotfix, overloaded the CommCell server - it didn't help. I create new ones “Blackout Window”- they still don't work. Has anyone encountered this problem?

i was run Synthectic full backup manual, after some percent like 23% backuo is stopped but showing runing but there any no any chnage. so I Killed that job and run again same synthetic full backup now backup is going very slow, I am not sure synthetic full bckup will not be 100% done. and currently in my console alert error is coming =  “License Consomed Exceeds 8%’ System has reached over 100 percent of the limit for [Operating Instances] usage. Jobs may not run. Purchased quantity [1]: consumed quantity [1].   kindly arrange me support 

Hello,I’m trying to do some math over effects of changing 2:nd copy to be stored on immutable volumes in azure.I have retention of 365 days, currently no seal of db database but seems recommendation is 180 days. According to the formula in another post, that would give me that I should have 545 days as immutable days on the storage volume.Our baseline is 18TB.Since there is 18TB as baseline and there will be 3 seals of the DDB, does that mean that I will add 3 times 18TB to the volume since no data pruning will happen for 545 days?//Henke

But am I correct that this feature currentlyis not available for NetApp filers? Thanks!

Hi, We are running v11.22.13 and the alerts have changed behaviour from v11.20.x. We used to get an email formatted as html with the general job status and an attachment as text with the failed vm name and failure reason. This is no longer the case.Now we get an attachment in html form which is just a repeat (copy) of the main email. So not helpful. Also I would prefer the attachment be in plaintext not html.I’ve played around with a variety of alert settings such as sending as text instead of html / with or without “detail as attachment”. I have included the various “VM xxxx” tokens. Nothing has produced the list of failed vm’s. Is this working for anyone running the same version as I am?Cheers,Ron

Hello all.Sorry up front for the wall of text but I have spent a few days undertaking a post-mortem into why a very important customer CommCell broke when a very minor update to 11.22.18 took place that left their CommCell crippled for about 4-5 hours.  This is just an advisory that with the latest (April 2020) Maintenance Pack of 11.22 does not perform CommServe LiveSync Production Maintenance failovers correctly.  The issue is in Hotfix #2340 in FR 11.22.17.  For those who were briefly able to get 11.22.18, the issue was not addressed in this release.I have confirmed that 11.22.0, .3, .9. & .13 are unaffected.  I had a very lengthy case with support (#210425-83) one week ago after I was seriously challenged when trying to salvage the CommCell as both Production and Passive Instance001 instances were put into a disabled state and documented forced failback features do not work when they are both disabled at the same time.  Commvault Support were fantastic and very tenacious to sol

Hi All, Recently we have deployed commvault hyperscale appliance 1.5 (1300) in infra. Commserve is outside HS appliance and hosted on VM. Commserve is on Sp23 but HS appliance media agent nodes are on SP15. When i try to upgrade package through commserve console, which in turn it initiate package download job. Download job gives below error: Error code: [68:472]Description: Download is skipped for [SP23_3384220:UP7_0] because the media is not available for it.  Please suggest on this
