Hi,I do partner support and sometimes I advice my customers to collect logs.I had to notice that under FR36 we currently need to collect Log files manualy often on Linux clients.sentlogs runs in an error Job Status: [Completed With Error] The client [ora] got critical error: [There is not enough disk space in the [/opt/commvault/iDataAgent/jobResults/sendLogStagingFolder]. The available free space is [6.00] GB, please make sure to have at least [10.00] GB and retry the operations.].   Failed Client(s): ora    It will take some time until customers find enough space to sadisfy the threshold. May be it make sense to reserve 10GB in the future. May be 

I’m starting a new thread for a repeat topic as I don’t see an actual solution in the previous one.OpenShift bare metal - all native storage - no way to configure snaps (or is there)? I have read and re-read BoL but am missing something if Waldo exists.Will be mounting live volume [] to worker pod [] since it does not support volume snapshots.  How to ignore this error? Meaning - we know this is probably an issue for Commvault unless someone has cracked it, so, rather than have to think about them each day, is the answer to “Hide this event”? I can say we don’t have any PVC’s yet but I see the risk in muting them entirely if indeed that means PVCs aren’t protected properly.This is on 11.36.41 BTW.thanks

Has anyone installed a Commvault web server/command center/metrics reporting server outside the Commserver.  Mine doesn't seem to connectand Im getting a failed authentication token  when I access the Commvault dashboard using the extra web server I build.  I believe I followed the one in Books online but no luck.Also to help in my troubleshooting is there any flow diagram on how the connectivity of the web server to the Commserver ( TC ports/ services/logs). THis way I can troubleshoot logically.So the setup is we have a Commserver which is also a web server/command centre and private metrics reporting server. I am building a separate web server/ command centre/metrics reporting server but it doesn't work. Any advice is appreciated.

Dear Vaulters,I have an issue, I have a storage policy with a selective copy for last full backup of the month on the tape library, when i review its jobs i find 30th of march full backup jobs instead of 31st of march full backup jobs.I made sure that AUX copy job ran 1 hour after 31st of march full backup jobs.I also noticed that this issue is not happening with all clients, it happens with random clients every month.Need your support to know the cause the aux copy to pick 30th of march full backup jobs instead of 31st of march full backup jobs? and how to solve it? BR

Hi everyone, is there a way to change the time format to 24h in the command center?For the Console I found the Option in the User Preference, but these setting aren’t honored in the command center. A quick search in the documentation also didn’t find aynthing.I also tried to change languages, but the time format wasn’t effected.

The alert displays the # of deleted files it has detected.  Is there a way to be able to display or list these files?

Hi All.I am busy testing content indexing of file system data. I managed to deploy and configure all the components.After the Content Indexing job runs I am able to search for file metadata from the Command Center.My question is - where do I configure the retention of the indexed data to managed disk space on the Index directory?I see information in the below:https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/setting_retention_days_for_content_indexed_data.htmlI do not have any Content Indexing tab within any Storage Policy.The CommCell is currently on v11.36.49. Thanks and regards,Ignes

I have tapes coming back from Fe.Mtn which have duplicate barcodes. one tape is from our old Networker environment and the other from Commvault. Is there a way to use the “cv tape tool” to see the content on the tapes before I start the restore operation?  

Hi all,We are reviewing our O365 Plan’s retention period. There are two settings 1. Retention 2. Version retention. I can’t find any documentation on Commvault website to explain each of these settings. Can someone please help to explain it a bit?Q1. Does every deleted items older than Retention get deleted? (e.g. a deleted email in an active mailbox that has passed the retention period will get deleted from backup?) Or, it only look at account level? (e.g. everything in a deleted account passed the retention period will get deleted, otherwise it stays)Q2. What exactly Version retention does? All our plan have this on infinite. How does this setting change the backup if we set it to 7 years?Any information will help. Thanks in advance,YC

Hello,In Commvault two DB backup job done. But showing one Full backup Commvault backup size is (760.83 GB) which is higher than the original size(551 GB). Another Differential backup Commvault backup size (18.33 GB) which is higher than the original size (14.69 GB).I have attached some images. Please check this and tell solving process. 

I want to generate a report on the Protection Plans I have in place.  If I look at plans in Command Center and ask to Export a PDF or XLSX/CSV, I don’t get the level of detail I’m looking for (retention, # copies and backup frequency).Anyone have any suggestions on how to get that data?Thanks.

Hi,I have a scenario where I will need to protect VMware VMs which can be located either on Datastores from Storage1 device or Storage2 device.I will have 2 plans setup for this:Plan1 will backup VMs from Storage1 datastores to a backup Pool2 Plan2 will backup VMs from Storage2 datastores to a backup Pool1The issue is that Pool1 is tied with Storage1 and Pool2 is tied with Storage2 in the sense that if Storage1 goes down for any reason then Pool1 will be unavailable too. The same is true for Storage2 and Pool2.The other issue is that VMs can migrate between Storage1 and Storage2For these reasons I always need to have last backup chain available on the pool that is independent of the Storage device where VM is sitting during backup.Some time ago it was a default behavior to force Full backup after changing target St

Hi All, i have the challange to backup an sql cluster with shared discs.  Error Code: [91:354]Description: Virtual machine [xyz] is configured with shared virtual disks. Snapshot operations are not supported for shared disks. Use an in-guest agent to protect virtual machines with shared disks.Source: 1234, Process: JobManager i tried to filter all scsi discs out wich are shared but the same erro comes during vsa backup test.  is there any possibility to backup the vm only with the systemdrive over vsa backup.  I dint want to go the way over fileagent and in dr case with the onetouch point.  Thanks

Backgroup:Commvault is nice backup platform, and it is helpfull to us who are IT admins.IT team charges the backup operation daily, and include over 400 clients; usually, the backup faild or other alert are gerented everyday, and only autherization user is able to login commvault software to check and fixe the alerts, but it not kindly way to share or push client’s owner to move on.Originally, IT team want to use Zabbix collect the alert from Commvault, and now the way is successful. 

has anyone tried to restore to another vcenter/esx cluster a virtualization based security enabled VM before. So the Vm is virtualization based security enabled and is sitting on another vcenter/esx cluster.  I am going to restore the VM to another vcenter/esx cluster.Any gotchas etc.

Hello,I have recently received a notification regarding the utilization of licenses for the purpose of backing up shared folders for an additional 5 TB. Is it possible to obtain the modifications, i.e., the information that was added, and is there a report that will provide me with the details of which backup the additional 5 TB was added?

Hello, good morning, how are you?I wanted to share a problem I'm facing in a client's Commvault environment.Their Commvault only does DR, it's currently on version 11.32, replication is done from VMware on-premise as the source to Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE) as the destination. There's a machine that hasn't replicated for a long time because it can't back up due to the problem below.Erro code [91:460]Unable to create a snapshot on virtual machine [] because another task is already running on the virtual machine. The job will got to pending and be retried.I don't understand what it could be, the machine can't do full or incremental backups, we've already looked in VMware and there are no paralyzed tasks, in the replication monitor it has the SLA status as "not met" and the status is "Sync Enabled".If you could help, I would be very grateful. The machine hasn't replicated for over 5 days.

 Hello Commvault Community,I am new to using Commvault at my company and still trying to understand many aspects of the software. Recently, I received an email titled "Maintenance Release Availability Notice" (see attached image). I would appreciate it if someone could help me understand what these types of emails entail and what hotfixes are.As a beginner, I am not very familiar with the terminology and processes involved. From what I have gathered, maintenance releases seem to include updates and fixes, but I am not sure how they differ from regular updates. Hi,Does commvault have plans to support MongoDB in the OS version of Ubuntu 24.04?The customer has version 11.32 installed. There is info in the documentation that the highest supported Ubuntu version is 20.04.https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/essential/system_requirements_for_mongodb.htmlIs support for newer versions of Ubuntu perhaps on Commvault's road map?Thanks in advance for the information.
