What is the best way to move local disk backups to cloud? We are not going to be using the local disk and need to take it out. 

Dealing with nightly high cpu issue….hit plateaus at 100% for several hours. Task manager shows Media Manager process hogging the cpu. This only happens during backup windows and not during the day. Dev support is saying it’s looking like we just have too much happening. It’s 200 VM backup jobs and they’re staggered. Issue only happens when the Incr VM backups run. Does not happen when corresponding Syn full run.I’ve tried staggering the jobs as much as I can but it only delays the inevitable. Suggestions?

The scenario I have here is that we want to back up only a specific directory within a virtual machine. For example, let's say we need to back up the /opt/backups/ directory while excluding all other files and folders. The goal is to ensure that only the contents of this directory are preserved and maintained as backups, without including unnecessary data from the rest of the system.  is there any way to do this ?

i have the comvault 11.32.73, the tape drive eternus lt20 s2. i need a guide for configuring. i have to archive my backups backuped: virtual machines, sharepoint data, data of end users. on host, where is connected my eternus lt20 s2 i installed media agent. what i do?

Hello;We are getting a new media agent, along with a new storage library, and I want to replace the old media agent and storage library. Once I have the new stuff setup I am debating how to replace the old media agent Under every storage policy and plan, create a new copy that writes to the library.  Copy all jobs to that new copy, then retire the old media agent Move the DDB and move the old library mount paths to the new storage library. Hi, We have two environments.Staging and development.On the development commcell(11.35) we are able to create a kubernetes cluster.But on the staging commcell(11.76), we are not able to create the kubernetes cluster.It gives port connectivity error.Unable to create kubernetes cluster with details provided.Failed to connect to kubernetes end point https:x.x.x.x:6443 from access node.Port is open from VSA node,Can you guide me which logs on which machine I have to check to investigate further. 

Hello, We have a spare netapp that we want to use as a commvault destination for backup.We have try to use only the netapp deduplication/compression writing directly to the library but the result is only 1% saving, the backup are not encrypted so I was expecting something better. Anyone else has some experience trying to use it. Does commvault store the backup in disk library in a block format that is not compressable even if we are not using the commvault deduplication.  ThanksLuc

what is recommended method to configure the Commvault Air Gap storage - cool tier our primary storage is hyperscalex 3 node .i am planning use one of the node as media agent for Commvault Air Gap storage - cool tieris it okay or do we need a seperate MA for this 

Hi!  I’d like to control or set  number of streams for data backup for all subclients and instances in given agent type globally. So for example all postgres subclients are protected using 4 data streams.  Is there a default value that can set during subclient configuration?How to set specific value for currently configured subclients to given value? (other then looping through all clients, all agents, all instances, all backupsets via API). 

Hi Good Day,We have recently upgraded CommVault server to latest version 11.36.35 which use the Dotnet framework version 8.0.11. This was to fix the Dotnet version 6.0.16 vulnerability issue.Even after the upgrade the security scan detect 6.0.16 package on the CommVault server. When I check the add/remove program it shows both 6.0.16 and 8.0.11 packages. Not sure why, as it supposed to be maintained the version 8.0.11.Appreciate your help on this matter. How to fix it.

In CC ( Protect → File Servers → <item>-->tab Configuration (down&left) a list of servers that use current node as Access Node is displayed. I would like to get this list using an API, but I am not able to find the API.Is there an API that provides this info ? Thanks in advance !!

Our Customers ask if Commvault supports ProxmoxDocumentation.commvaut.com 11.34 show that PROXMOX is not supported.Research in comunity shows a two year old topic where someone asked the same question.Two year are a long time so I want to ask if and when Commvault plans to support Proxmox?Thanks in advanceJoerg 

We would like to upgrade commvault from 11.24.153 to latest LTS 11.36. Please share the below queries.Is there any complexity to upgrade directly to latest LTS 11.36? We are using Active/Passive CommServe nodes with live sync. Please share a upgrade procedure with livesync enviroment. Current SQL version is 2019 - 15.0.4236.7 and Windows Server version is 2019 standard. Do we need to upgrade windows as well as SQL to 2022 or 2025 separatly or it would initiate automatically during upgrade process?

Hi,Does the Dataserver-IP feature require any special libraries, packages or customization on Red Hat 9.4? like here: I have 2 Media Agents and I want to share mount paths (LUNs mounted to each MA). But there are some errors eg. with Data Verification or backup:Cannot connect to Data Server, please make sure desination MediaAgent is up and running and there is no network / connvectivity issue between source and desination Media Agent.In NFSTtransport log:3dfs server @ [cv-ma-g02] failed to start, reason: Services/3dfs are not reachable or refusing connectionThere is no firewall between them, there are able to cummunicate, services are running but still problem exists. There is no NFS service installed on this server - should I install it?

Hello, I have some issue with backup of thumbnails ( alot of small files above 2M). The issue is that IFIND proces using around 10GB f RAM, and then scan taking way to long en even not finishing on time ( around 6-7 hrs) I have already reseted DB by running recursive scan( took me around of 15hrs ) and after i tred optimize Scan again.  i have restarted commvault services, and the host. Reinstalled client, i have even added additions setting IFIND_AffinityMask, but still no resaults.  I am runing on SP11.32.81

Hi Team, i have a 3 node HSX cluster and a tape library. unfortunately no FC HBA on HSX nodes. i want to do Aux Copy the backup from HSX to Tape library. Meanwhile MA to tape libary is connected using FC. Tape Library MA and HSX are both connected to Commserv , so how we can establish the data connectivity between MA and HSX, and run the Aux copy to copy backup from HSX to Tape

Hello community, I was trying to automate some tasks using the Metallic API and ran into an issue (or maybe it's just me doing something wrong) during token refresh.From my testing and the CV doc, the token expires in 30 minutes, so we need to regenerate it using the refresh token. That part works fine.https://api.commvault.com/docs/SP38/api/cv/OpenAPI3/renew-accesstoken/ But, the 'Custom Scope' (/Job  /V4 /Organization) gets lost after the token refresh - custom scope content is empty, so I either have to manually enter it again or script it to update.I’m wondering if this is by design or if it’s something that might be fixed in a future release or hotfix.Should I open a case with support to get dev attention on this?
