Hi team,Trying to undesatnd, how commvault uploads the job metadata. Came across an error “Unable to upload job metadata to the remote file cache” and the client is trying to connect to the failover commvault server. Is the metadata upload location configured automatically or we have an option to point to any specific commvault server? Thanks in advance !

Hi, I have a few sql backups with a SQL AG client, I need to run a post script for them where I put down a file so our monitoring tool can check if the file is there, sow the backup was ok.But when I go to the properties of the subclient, the ‘pre/post process’ tab is greyed out.Why is this and can this be enabled.

Hi all1. Do I understand correctly that when WORM storage lock is enabled, I cannot delete backups in any way through Commvault, even if the period Object Lock retention period has expired on AWS S3?2. What happens with backup if the AWS S3 Object Lock retention period is set to 1 day, the Commvault retention period is set to 2 days, and the backup date was 3 days ago?3. Does Data Aging of Jobs work when WORM storage lock is enabled?4. Does Commvault check if AWS S3 Object Lock is really enable or I can just activate WORM storage lock on storage without object lock?

I thought I had this previously, but it’s not working as expected.I have a VM that has been replaced.  The VM still exists, though eventually I’ll delete it an associated files.  So I’d like to stop the backup process. My initial understanding is that you stop the process and then backups are retained until the retention time is reached.What I did was went into the option and chose to RETIRE.  However, the VM is still being backed up.  There’s also an option that says Do not back up.  So I’m confused.  What are my correct stops here to stop backing up and ultimately remove this device?

good evening, i am studying about proxy and i am quite confused about proxy vs vsa proxy vs network gateway, which are the use cases?i am configuring a local storage pool made of 3 different media agents with local discs, and like to add another REMOTE storage pool for aux copy, someone suggests me to put in front of media agents a proxy for limiting and controlling access, but i quite confused, is better proxy, vsa, or gateway? thank you.

Hi All, happy new year to all.  I see in severel commcells the following event: Programm: CvSolrCoordinatorEventcode: 19:2582Description: Number of available streams [1] is either less than the number of nodes [1] or less than the recommended minimum number [4]. This can impact performance of the backup. This comes during the backup of the index server. I cant understand the problem. I checked the streams on the SP lvl thats fine. I disabeld the schedule and suspended all running jobs so nothing runs started the index backup and the error comes directly. do you have an idear ?  

Hi  DB type- SQLI have a DB server, and I am trying to take a DB aware backup.For one of its DB i received an error as below.Error encountered during backup. I have attempted to recreate all the network rules again, but still receive this message on the client, and check readiness fail.Flow of traffic is Commserve > core proxies > media  agent > customer proxy > Customer client server with file/SQL agents installed.Any ideas anyone?  Thanks

Hi All,I cannot download the appliance VMWare Windows Image of Commvault Software with 11.36. It has Restricted Access. When I try, I get the message : Contact your software provider for access to this package.I have already used the download manager for 11.36. I don't understand why this appliance has restricted access. How can I download it knowing that I have several POCs waiting…Thank you!Regards,Luc

How do I make a MSSQL System Database Backup?

11.28.126 O365 Sharepoint Online First Time Setup - Error is: The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.This appears in the CVSPAutoDiscoverScan.log on the O365 ‘Access Node’ We have setup a new Azure App, to backup Sharepoint Online for a customer, the Azure App appears as Authorized But we unable to get any Content, when I try ‘Add Sites’, we receive the following message - now my Azure guys tell me 1 and 2 are fine, so we go to three - the kb article refers to this command Set-SPOTenant -DisableCustomAppAuthentication $falseWhich my Azure guys tell me is now retiredI’m hoping someone has had this pain before and knows a workaroundThanks

Following this, the Oracle RAC was automatically created on the CommCell.However, when I attempted to configure the instance, the process was unsuccessful, and I encountered the following error:  Could you please assist me in resolving this issue? 

Hi all,I am trying to set Entra ID backups on our CommCell. I am following the documentation under Getting Started with the Azure Active Directory Application, including Complete the Guided Setup for Active Directory which is one of the steps.When I go to Guided Setup on the Commserve, all of the applications within “Protect” are greyed out, so I am not able to find the AAD or AD Application, or access any of them (see screenshot) including other tabs in that page. Even when logged in as local administrator, which is associated with the master role.When the vendor helped us implement Commvault, I notice they didn’t use backup plans to schedule and run backups. And if you see in the screenshot, the “Create server backup plan” checkbox is not checked out, which makes the core setup unfinished. I wonder whether the system needs a backup plan created, even though it will not be used to be able to work with additional applications? Thanks in advance.Kind regards.
