Hi,Does anyone know if MySQL Block-Level Backup does work / should work / is supported with Ubuntu? It's not on the List of Supported Kernel Versions (https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/19402_mysql_block_level_backup.html). But our (driverless) MySQL Block-Level backups on OS Ubuntu just work great. Restores do not (yet) work however.Because it's not on the List of Supported Kernel Versions, I hesitate to open a ticket with Commvault support, pretending I do not know Ubuntu is not on the List of Supported Kernel Versions. Maybe the List of Supported Kernel Versions has not been updated?Thanks!

 Hello, We have an archive cluster(A300 PowerScale) being backed up via NDMP and full backups take quite some time to transfer which is expected due to the file count and size. We backup to disk and tape aux copy via 3-way NDMP. Synthetic full backups are not supported on NDMP, if we did a full every 7th day as we normally do for all our other backup clients(synth. full), this would make the backups fall behind. Dell states that “Forever Incremental” backups are integrated when backing up to Commvault. I am not too familiar with forever incremental configurations in terms of retention. What would be the retention required to be able to perform a full restore? Dear all,We perform the backup of all our MSSQL VMs by aggregating them in one sublient, scheduled by an ad-hoc policy. The daily incrementals are scheduled at 7pm with the following optionsNotwithstanding the attached configuration, the SQL Server Appaware daily backups are always full. I remember I read somewhere that this is expected, is this correct? The Data checkbox is unchecked and this somewhat surprising for me. Shouldn’t it be selected for the job to backup SQL data?Sorry if these questions sound a bit dummy but I inherited the management of the Commvault platform from a colleague and some choices from the past are still a bit unclear. Thank you in advanceGaetano

Hi Has any one seen ‘this’Part of the left column of Command Center is obscuredThe Left Column should be the name of the VMThere is no option to scroll left or right - and the left column is also obscured when the is set to Full Screen (F11)The Browser is edge - I’m unable to test with Firefox or Chrome at this stage

This product is used for monitoring.https://www.bocada.com/supported-applications/commvault-montoring-reporting/It looks like the requirement is for a read-only user directly in SQL and not via API authentication.Is creating an account within SQL allowed? Hi Team, May need you help to identify the error for the exchange index Solr server and may advise is there any fix for this instead creating new index server? actually i already create new index server with vesion 11.28. the old one from 11.13 and start have issue with 11.24. i know there is new index build server from version 11.22. just curios is there any way to fix the old index server? is this cause by the Third party software when we install Setup.exe.   

Dear all,we have several VMs included in the same Appaware subclient. I created a new Appaware subclient, assigned a new schedule policy and moved one the above VMs to it. The storage policy remains the same for both the subclients and all the VMs have a recent Full available.The first backup job for the new subclient was set of type Incremental, may anybody help me understanding why it was converted to full? Thank youGaetano

Hello everyone,We are trying to configure backup for Linux PCS cluster, We have installed agent on nodes and configured cluster psuedo client for cluster IP. Cluster psudo client is configured but its not able to find the active physical node. even if we force sync its completing but still active physical node is not updated.I dont have knowledge on how PCS cluster works but our linux admin says in os both nodes will be inactive but PCS cluster manages both nodes and handles the clustering 

Hi, Trying to find the best way to set up at Selective Copy in a Plan to be able to send One-Time, Client Specific, Full backups to Tape for external audits.  In a Storage Policy this is easy as we can select what Client, or even SubClient, to copy data for. This option is not available in a Plan though, it’s only which Fulls to Copy for all associated Clients.I can create a separate Plan for this and redirect a Full Backup to this Plan but that would mean a new Full backup and these jobs can be up to 30TB which is not ideal to stream directly to Tape in this environment. We want to benefit from Synthetic Fulls from the Primary Disk Copy. Can I create this Selective Copy from the CommCell Console under the Storage Policy section for the Plan or is that not supported/recommended? Or will Client Selective be available in Plans in a short future?Regards,Patrik

Hello,Like many, most of my experience comes from using the Commcell Console and I am trying to familiarize myself with the Command Center. However, I’m finding it difficult understanding some of the differences in terminology between the two. I’m looking to create plans to replace the legacy schedule and storage policies, as well as organize the data in the Command Center similar to how it is organized in the java console i.e. Client Computer Groups > Clients > Backup Sets > Subclients etc. At the moment I’m spending a lot of time just trying to find where everything is because the names of certain things have changed i.e. I no longer see subclients or Client computer groups. What is the equivalent of a Backup set or a Subclient in the Command Center? Is there any documentation that explains the differences or outlines “what’s changed” from the java console to the Command Center? Thanks,Enrique

Hi,I am trying to restore a VM with OpenStack in a different project. I am trying to do a kind of “Disaster Recovery” solution, so I would like to restore the VM with the same network interface configuration.I can not find any option about how to set the MAC Address and the IP address when I am restoring it. Could anyone give me any advice? 

Hellowith a Netapp storage array I have made an Intellisnap backup of an Exchange DBs that are on different LUNs but on the same volume, what appen if I perform a restore of a single DB with the options “Use hardware revert capabililty if available” ? can Commvault leverage the the Netapp feature of restore a single file (the LUN) from the snapshot and revert only the affected LUN or Commvault will tell Netapp to revert the entire volume?RegardsFederico

Hello Community,I have just tried to restore some files of a Windows VM hosted on a Hyper-V Server.However when I did the restore it was not realy progressing and I found the following error: “Error [1] while setting compression attribute on [xxxx.x]”.Checking the Folders I tried to restore, I realized that it they have Windows Compression enabled. I found the following documentation: Microsoft Hyper-V (commvault.com)So for me it seems a restore/backup for these folders is not supported? Any thoughts or experience to this problem?Kind regards

Helloif I have 2 different licenses: 100TB FTE Commvault Backup and Recovery + 100 Virtual Operating Instances what happen if we goes in over lincensed condition for the nunber of VMs? only the VMs backups will not run or also the backup of other workload (for example Oracle) will stop to run?Regards

In the new hyperscale 2.23 version and I cannot seem to locate the cvping command… did it move? Suggestions where it is? I did a FIND on the system and it did not return with anything.
