Hello,I need a clarification about SLA definition, when I set the SLA to 2 days, means that any backup was success full in the 2 day time frame, or means any sub-client have a successful backup in the 2 days time frame?regards Jürgen

Hello Community, After few days one of the Media Agent in AZURE for one subscription issue occurred with Backup Copy jobs for File Servers which size is about 22 TB. Only info which occurred in Events logs is: Received failed message for job [3155290], phase [Backup]I am looking for reason of that error. After that the jobs started from begning.Please let me know when I should look for more details for that the job. Regards, Michal

Hi All,VM backups with "Warning Unable to quiesce guest file system during snapshot creation" are shown as "Completed".I see it changed about two months ago in a CommCell running 11.24. Before that change the backups statuses were shown as “Completed w/ one or more errors”.Currently I see VM backups with warning about unsuccessful quiescing reported as “Completed” in 11.24 and 11.26. Is it possible to make the backup jobs with "Warning Unable to quiesce guest file system during snapshot creation" beeing shown as “Completed w/ one or more errors”? Or how could I find/report/list such backup jobs? Regards,Lubos

In our case, we’ve gotten 2 “suspicious file” warnings over the past month, both for .rmd files which are for markdown files programming language “R” - [K:\Users\Slee987\0107.Rmd]I am all for commvault monitoring and tuning itself to prevent ransomware, but I’d like some means of tweaking it or figuring out why it’s determining that these two rmd files - vs the tens of thousands of other ones on our users’ home directories in the K drive - are ‘suspicious’.

Hi Team, I have tried to backup my Kubernetes application using PVC and PV ( Local disk I have created), backup is successful. It only Backups the application and PVC.When I try to restore that application in same cluster in different namespace or different cluster it goes to pending state. When I check the logs PVC looking for PV. I have manually create separate PV for that, then application goes running state.The strange behaviour is when I describe the restored application, its docker image got changed and its showing “centos:8” as the image name.Can you please help me on this issue. ThanksNaveen

Hi All. I’m using the BackendStorage (QS_BackendStorage) Qscript / Stored Procedure to calculate backend storage usage for a given customer, to be able to invoice the customer for backend storage usage. When sealing a DDB, I would like to exclude the storage usage from that DDB, would this be achievable, either by a command via the qoperation executing or by editing the QS_BackendStorage Stored procedure in SQL? Thanks-Anders

Hi Guys, As we are preparing to create a replicated data to a new DR site, using DASH copies to get the best performance possible, we also thought about harden the data sent there with the use of WORM. We already know that CV has its own WORM property, and actually, the storage that we have in the DR (Huawei Oceanstore 100D) has its own built-in WORM protection.My question is, can the activation of WORM be made on both sides (CV + Storage) without issues ? Or, should it be one side only ? Thanks guys.

I would like to disable the automatic discovery of database instances in my environment.I found an additional settings that appears to do this but it seems to have an odd caveat Use this additional setting to disable or allow the automatic database discovery feature for some databases, for example Oracle. If you want to disable the automatic discovery feature for clients, then set the value of this additional setting to 1 before you install the database agent software on the clients. When you use this additional setting with a value of 1 the Commvault software does not discover new databases that you add. Set the additional setting value to 0 to enable the automatic database discovery feature. The default value is 0. This leads me to believe that this will not disable instance discovery for clients who already have the DB agents installed. Let me know if this is what I need or if there is another option available. Thanks.Chris.

HI teams,my licence is limited to 10 backups Vms.Unfortunatly, i add a new vm in my subclient and lauch backup. Now i had a pop up alert of over capacity on startup commcell console.I delete the vm now but the popup is still alive.How can i delete this alert ?Regards

Hi Community, Is it safe to use software compression with DumpBased PostgresSQL backup ? We’ve had a client complaining about jobs related to PostgresSQL backups taking too long, after a first check, we’ve found that all created subclients under DumpBased had compression turned off, we know that DBs have their own compression, but wanted to be sure of the safeness of using it on commvault side. Regards.

Our main linux file server, using only the File System Agent installed on it and nothing else, displayed a new error during an incremental backup this morning. The job appears to be running still, but I’d like to know why I got this. Optimized Scan option is indeed selected in the subclient properties.In the “errors” column in the Java commserve console, it worries me by displaying “No resources”. The Delay Reason is as follows:Error Code: [62:348]Description: The medium is already reserved by some other job[s].Source: commserve, Process: MediaManager Clicking on the 62:348 error code merely redirects me to a useless page here: https://kb.commvault.com/#sort=relevancy instead of telling me anything about the error.I do appreciate that Commvault has so many varied and detailed error codes, but I really wish that your documentation would cover every single one of them so we sysadmins could do some troubleshooting on our own, without immediately needing to look to y’all for help.

Hi,Our customer has an Oracle 12 DB with 9TB of capacity. RMAN gets a backup of 1.5TB because of compression.Does Commvault support RMAN compression? I mean, besides Commvault’s own client and MediaAgent compression, can Commvault just take that 1.5TB compressed by RMAN and put it in the library? Thanks!Sergio

Hi there,could you please advice us how to manage NDMP subclients and its content? NDMP backup seems to be working fine. However, we couldnt browse for the content of subclient and therefore it s not possible to create or add new content to subclient. If the credentials are needed, where should be filled in?  

Hello,The Commcell from my customer has no access to Internet,The release 11.24.42 is still not available from cloud.commvault.com or from Miantenance Advantage web site. I would like to know how to download the “maintenance release 11.24.42” ?It seems that a bootstrap is needed but where to find it ?Many thanks for your reply,Gilles
