Hello,We want to make Hardware Refresh for Media Agent.After install new Media Agent on new server with Windows Server 2019 Standard everything goes well. In CommServe MA is ready.After add LUNs from disk storage for bakups still everything goes well.But after add LUNs from other disk storage with VMFS datastores, MA goes offline in CommServe with offline reason:"The MediaAgent if offline is initialising and refreshing the device information"And this state cannot be repaired with:- reboot system and services- repair software- delete LUNs with VMFS datastores and after that all of aboveOnly after deleteed LUNs with VMFS datastores, full delete MA and new installation, MA gone ready.But if we again adding LUNs with VMFS datastores, MA goes offline again. Hello,We are running commvault 11.28.52 and currently testing the PostgtreSQL Agent. In our testing environment, we have two PostgreSQL 12 Servers running as a cluster with one Primary active server and one standby server. The servers are Linux-based VMs.We are performing backups and restores from the primary server. However, every time we restore the DB from the FSBasedBackupSet, the replication between the nodes stops working. What are the Best Practices for FsBased cluster restore and how to perform restore correctly from this backupset?

Hi all. I’m curious to know what speed others see when doing a Vmware NBD restore.Hardware, configuration ect. is not important, just want to know the speed, as I do not know if my restore speed is fast or slow.I get around 450Gb/h when restoring a single server via NBD. What do you get? Thanks-Anders

Are there any issues with creating a Secondary Copy for a Plan via the CommCell Console, with the intent of promoting that copy to Primary?For whatever reason, the Plan isn’t correctly listed within Command Center, and as such I am concerned about causing further issues if attempting the change via Command Center. Plans are terrible.

The evening of Friday April 6, I upgraded my CommVault installation from 11.32.38 to 11.34.20. Following the upgrade (which required reboots of almost all the client computers), the Friday evening backups seems to be running normally.  When I returned to work on Monday morning I have roughly 300 Alert emails regarding “unusual job activity” on various servers.  Weirdly, some of the alerts say zero files have been changed:Anomaly NotificationAn unusual job activity was detected in Job [751258], type [Root Size Change]. Details: Unusual number of file operations in client [INF-SQLP104] - created files: [0], deleted files: [0], modified files: [0], root size change of [0.00] GBDoes anyone know what the problem is and how to stop all this spam? Is there a way to turn off these notifications?ThanksKen

Hello everyone,I am currently facing a problem:Backup for a large CIFS volume (> 50 TB! on NetApp) should run as follows:1. backup as incremental via SnapShot on productive filer several times a day2. transfer the SnapShots via snapvault to a backup NetApp via snapvault (aux copy)so far no problem ... then:3. backup of the last incremental SnapShot of the week from the backup Netapp to S3 (with DDB) and then synthetic full to get a new full again.-> This is possible in principle as the backup is incremental but a snapshot always contains everything. This means that only the diff of this last snapshot to the last synthetic full has to be backed up and this is only approx. 2 - 3 TB per week.4. once a quarter backup of the last (synthetic) full from S3 to tape (regulation) … no problem as well Unfortunately, Backup Copy ignores all incremental backups wif I use selection rules (even with “Apply selection rule for snap jobs” selected). The jobs are seemingly still running fine without any failed items.I restarted the services on the access node, also tried verifying in another browser. Maybe it could be a problem with browser cache, but no.Discovery and index timestamps are up to date.Running 11.32.23Any comments on this? What should be done? Can I trust the backup?

disks are set to lvm on my postgre server.When I want to take native block level backup I keep getting errorerror code: 32:392 media agent not installed   

In data aging admin job, How can I see the quantity of space free released after this job completed.  I can see on SO level in media agent, I would expect to see some information about amount of space released clicking in detail of job but nothing is showed. Is there way to get this type of granular information?

Getting ready to deploy Commvault Media Agents to AWS EC2 instances.   A pair of Media Agents should do the job.     We have several sets of Windows or RedHat Media Agents in our environment.   Going with a pair of Windows Media Agents would require us to have a File Recovery Enabler for Linux VM, too.   Going with a pair of Linux Media Agents might require us to deploy a Windows proxy/access node VM.   Are we able to roll out a mixed pair of Media Agents, instead?     One Windows Media Agent, One Linux Media Agent.   Same global DDB.   I can’t find anything on it.  Curious to hear thoughts.   Thanks!

Currently running Commvault 11.24.  Have several large Nutanix AHV clusters.   Nightly incremental backups are very efficient, but the weekly synthetic full backups are painfully slow.    Since Indexing Version 2 is not supported for Nutanix AHV, the synthetic full backups run with a single stream.    As a result, we have our backups for each cluster broken up into several subclients, and stagger the synthetic full backups across the week.    Furthermore, the impact of the Indexing Version 1 synthetic full backups seems to extend to Aux Copy events between our sites.   I believe that the synthetic full Nutanix AHV backup data is Aux Copying on a single stream.   Not good! Now, looking to the future, on 11.30, we can see that every hypervisor will support Indexing Version 2….except for Nutanix AHV!     Do any Commvault folks know when Indexing Version 2 will be available for Nutanix AHV? Thanks in advance, and Happy New Year!

Do we have any option to perform Incremental restore.we have tested the Namespace and Application level restore( in and out of place restore). while performing the out of place restore for already existing namespace , if overwrite option is not enabled restoration fails and it succeeds if overwrite option is enabled. In backend this overwrite deletes all the existing resources from the namespaces and recreates again. we are not able to achieve the incremental restore which is not suitable for the TB’s of data size.

Hi everyone,how is Kubernetes backup licensed within Commvault (not Metallic)? I found nothing in the Licensing Program Guide. I know VSA is used, so I assume it’s a per Container license. Can anyone provide an example setup and its related license requirements. Thanks.

Hello, I’m running PostgreSQL v13.14 on RedHat 8.9 I want to restore a PostgreSQL Instance from FSBasedBackupSet.This will only work if I made a Full backup before I start the restore. But why must I do a Full backup before starting the restore. What if the Instance is corrupt and I can’t start a backup?
