Hello I have CS in 11.30.23 and MA in 11.30.52 (they both physical servers - windows 2012R2)and I want to upgrade to 11.32 version and the SQL you can see in the image that I attach below:Can I do the upgrade directly ?or maybe I need to upgrade the windows from 2012R2 to windows 2016?Thank you very much :)

CV 11.32.43Recently upgraded from 28 to 32 and immediately noticed more than a single backup job running for the same snapshot.A little more context -  Run a full snapshot job on a VCenter Client, then a Backup Copy. Job started no problem.Few hours later, the automatic scheduled kicked in and another backup copy job on top of the one I started manually started as well (two running simultaneously for the same snap) - the new job, picked the VMs that were still waiting on the first job. While looking at the FR11.32 documentation I found the link below. Can someone confirm that this is correct link for what I`m experiencing?https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/expert/managing_backups_based_on_snapshot_retention.htmlIf so, the article mentioned additional setting keys at the CommCell or Client / Group level which were never entered, would this be automatically turned on after the upgrade?Thanks in advance.

Hi Folks,First, many thanks for the information here. I’ve solved a lot of issues just reading answers found here.Ok, here’s the rundown. We changed the Commcell service account password on the AD side. We thought we went into Commcell Console and updated the credential there. Everything was working fine, until a short time later and now we cannot login using our AD account (If I’m reading correctly, is that because the service account can no longer connect to the AD for an LDAP lookup?)Looking into the EvMgrS.log I can see this entry### EvSecurityMgr::userLogin() - processAdUser returned [-105], "Failed to connect to the domain server. Hello all!We are trying to create a group in Commvault for all hosts which have backup activity disabled.We do have found this setting: But a problem is that if machine contains agent backup types “inside” itself and backup is disbaled on agent level it won't show in this group. For example - if server SVR001 contains SQL and File System backup and we will disable ONLY File System backup on SVR001 it wont show in group which will be configured as screenshot above shows. My question is - how to show all disabled backups? No matter if backup is disabled at Client Level, or at agent level.

Hello all,I just hit a situation. When trying to change the LiveSync default storage policy, documentation told me that the new user defined storage policy for the commserve livesync feature should be NON deduplicated.Happens that this environment has as storage options an HSX RA appliance and tape storage.HSX RA is per design a deduplicated storage pool.Has any one faced this situation? I did not want to create another disk pool to satisfy this NON deduplication necessity. Is there any way out?Regards,

Looking for some input on the use of Data Access Nodes when backing up NFS shares.I noticed during a backup failure that my Proxy 1 in this case was down and backups went into a pending state. However there are several over proxies also available for the job as shown. So it is my understanding that the job will NOT go the list and pick the next one available. How do I make sure that Commvault uses the next available proxy on the list if first one or any of them fails?Can you point me to the right documentation where it talks about the failover for those nodes since I could not locate one?Thanks

Hello,we need a hardware refresh of search engines and there is no indexing anymore. All agents that were indexed are not active anymore. So we only have to keep the old index. The Commerve is on SP32. Hello, i have a problem when i make a backup from some mssql databases with the transaction log backup.Then comes the “warning”/”info”: Failed to set up DataPipe. The connection with this product's Communications Service on MediaAgent may have been reset. Check if the service is running. When i make a full backup it works fine. My CommVault version is the V11.34.5 on the CommCell and the MSSQL iData Backup Agent on the client side. Thanks a lotDietmar

Customer wants to recover a calender item from an Exchange Database.But the recovered object has now the message icon and got the message class ID.The documentation only mentions “messages” but doesn’t list “not supported” message class items.So, it would be great to get some feedback and maybe even the documentation updated to make it easier for other user to find. kind regardsJoerg

Hi team,Im facing an issue witg exchange 2019 Backup is running good no issue But when i try to restore a database it failed with error vss writer errorI checked the vss writer no errors.Checked event viewer log and found an event id 8194 access denied I have added the network service user to COM security and rebooted the exchange server and performed the restore again i got the same error but the event viewer log hsa changed to id 4356exchange, application, service VSS writer, failing restoring a backup. Has anyone faced this issue before ?  It is a dark site and i couldnt get the logs.

Hello, What is best practise to add onedrive,teams apps to commvault through vpn express tunnel? Do i need to create private endpoint first and how to configure the routing through the endpoint? Now commvault trying to connect through the public address.  I can add package through custom configuraton but failed on authorize app, If i use expres configuration with global user its saying that username/passwoord not correct

Cannot update copy with override retention when storage pool is using Storage WORM lock property set.It is only possible to add/remove associations when we remove the option of WORM storage lock?I know the procedure.@Commvault feedback: It is maybe better to make possible that we can add. (not remove).

We have large RDS SQL server in our environment and currently backup is not using multifile option and backup is very slow. I check the AWS documentation, it says that for large large database it support multifile backups.Importing and exporting SQL Server databases using native backup and restore - Amazon Relational Database Service Amazon S3 has a size limit of 5 TB per file. For native backups of larger databases, you can use multifile backup. example:Example of multifile backup exec msdb.dbo.rds_backup_database @source_db_name='mydatabase', @s3_arn_to_backup_to='arn:aws:s3:::mybucket/backup*.bak', @number_of_files=4; My question is Does Commvault support (v11.32) multifile backup for RDS SQL server. Best Regards

Hello all,I have personal and shared folders on my file server. These folders contain different types of files. I want to archive files that haven't been accessed for 2 years by creating shortcuts, and I want to delete files that haven't been accessed for more than 4 years without creating shortcuts. I want to perform these actions across the entire file server, but I also want to exclude some subfolders where I may need to apply different policies based on user requests. How can i achieve this scenario? Any comment will be appreciated. 

Commvault client was installed on the new server and connectivity between Commcell and new server is working fine. Check Readiness on the the existing pseudo client is ok. However when connecting to the instance it is showing “unable to establish connectivity with these instance properties. instance properties validation failed. Please check DB credentials”. We have an ongoing issue spread to multiple of our media agents.
