Does anyone have any information from Commvault regarding CommServe support for windows server 2025?I have tested it in our lab and it seems fine. 

Hi Team,I’d like to know if there is a way to run PostgreSQL, MariaDB and MSSQL backups from scripts on the clients similarly to RMAN.I founf the Save as Script option on the Subclient, but we woud like to use our own commands (pg_dump  ${database}) and still make sure the backups are witten to HSX.ThanksFrancesco

Hi:Which is the best way to migrate from Commvault to Commvault Cloud? (Metallic) I have been told that there is not an utility to do it and that should be a restore and backup process just like as going from another software to Commvault, but I guess that a lot of customers may have the same requirement.Any thoughts will be appreciated.Best,Paul

I have created a new subclient policy but instead of using this default subclient i created a new sublclient to take backup of only selected extensions and assigned to all 100 laptops.now when i created a schedule policy and assigned schedule policy to a laptop client group .the backup us being run for the default subclient as well as the new one which i created.i have disbabled default subclient from policy by “activity control” but still the schedule policy executes job for both and its causing lot of failures in my job and confusion during restore.raised case with support ( 250331-339) but they are not able to do anything from last 10 days. 

Hi, I’m having problems with a Commvault Oracle Data Guard configuration. I have a Data Guard pseudo-client which handles the backups for the environment which has 2 databases on 2 different hosts: dbhost01 and dbhost02. It is configured to run backups on the primary node. A few days ago a database failover happened (from dbhost01 to dbhost02), it was successful, so no issues with that, currently the primary database is on dbhost02.My problem is that since the failover the commvault backups cannot run, because it is still trying to reach the database on dbhost01 (which is shutdown). It sees that the database on dbhost02 is open, but does not even try to start the backup there.What is the correct way to configure this? The whole point of having this Data Guard configuration in Commvault is that we don’t have to modify anything in commvault when a failover/switchover happen, so I’m looking for a solution that provides this. Thank you for any t

Hello Community, We have that configuration: File server with DFS namespaces on Windows machine.  Archive solution with Windows File System Archiving on the same machine. and time to time, DFS service is blocked by Commvault  which stopped shared files to users. According to Microsoft investigation there is a file which working in the same time and can provided that issue: E:\System Volume Information\Commvault\Data Classification\dc_001.db-journalDoes someone have that type of problem? Is possible to move somewhere that DB from Commvault site, to not stop DFS service?Regards, Michal

Hi,I do partner support and sometimes I advice my customers to collect logs.I had to notice that under FR36 we currently need to collect Log files manualy often on Linux clients.sentlogs runs in an error Job Status: [Completed With Error] The client [ora] got critical error: [There is not enough disk space in the [/opt/commvault/iDataAgent/jobResults/sendLogStagingFolder]. The available free space is [6.00] GB, please make sure to have at least [10.00] GB and retry the operations.].   Failed Client(s): ora    It will take some time until customers find enough space to sadisfy the threshold. May be it make sense to reserve 10GB in the future. May be 

hi,I need help creating a backup schedule in version 11.36 using the command center. In the previous version I had already created it without any problems because I used the commcell console.I have a subclient for which I need to create a backup schedule:Subclient1Backup daily incremental running x hourBackup full backup running all saturdayand the storage is in different media poolI can't associate two jobs to the same subclient, could someone help me?

When taking a Commvault VM Image backup it updates the VM on the vCenter with job no and last backup date which is very helpful for ensuring however is anyone aware of being able to update a VM on the vCenter with details of Agent based backups (SQL, Windows etc) appreciate any help or advice.

Hi all, We have a Server with Commserver and MA installed on it and I want to renewal on a new server. The MA have a local Disk Library of some TB of backups. I’ve refered the commvault documentation of Commserver Hardware Refresh but  I still haven't understood how migrate local disk library data to new hardware. Could any help me with some ideas how do this migration? Actual server has local disks in RAID 5 (disk library), that here are my backups. New server has local disk in RAID 5, to received that migration.  Regards!

What is the best approach to backup o365 mailboxes.Is it recommended to create secondary copy to Tape? as primary going to be single point of failure Any recommendations for bandwidth as we will transfer over external network.

I have a storage pool with 5 tapes to make daily backups "Pool Daily"I have configured two subclients to make backups to this storage pool daily at the same time, primary backup, but each subclient is using a different tape, that is, two tapes per backup.How can I make them use the same backup tape? Commvault:11.36

Sometimes it’s VSBK.exe or a random Windows exe.I used to have a ton of these.Present day it’s much less. Last year the Application Event log was littered with these and the Media Agent Server became unusable.  Support was at a loss. It might be easy to say there was a hardware issue. Hi Team,We purchased a Huawei Dorado 18000 v6 device onsite to use in Commvault backups. We want to configure and define this device as a Nas Library, but some questions came up to my mind.- Are there any Best Practices to follow when defining a NAS Library to Commvault?- What should we determine as Block Size on the storage side?- Would it be more logical to set a quota when creating a NAS share on the storage side or to use the "Do not Consume more than" option on Commvault?- Would it be more efficient to create a library with many NAS shares, for example 5*10TB=50TB or 1*50TB=50TB?- If I am going to use 3 Media Agents, would it be more logical to create a DDB with 3 partitions and place each partition in the relevant MA? Best Regards.

I am setting up a new user/group and not sure which permissions to apply so that the user/group can only view the plans (schedules) that’s assigned to its resources. 

Dealing with nightly high cpu issue….hit plateaus at 100% for several hours. Task manager shows Media Manager process hogging the cpu. This only happens during backup windows and not during the day. Dev support is saying it’s looking like we just have too much happening. It’s 200 VM backup jobs and they’re staggered. Issue only happens when the Incr VM backups run. Does not happen when corresponding Syn full run.I’ve tried staggering the jobs as much as I can but it only delays the inevitable. Suggestions?

what is recommended method to configure the Commvault Air Gap storage - cool tier our primary storage is hyperscalex 3 node .i am planning use one of the node as media agent for Commvault Air Gap storage - cool tieris it okay or do we need a seperate MA for this
