I am working on automation which installs SQL iDataAgent on new clients and also creates AG (Availability Group) Instance.I have found this API endpoint to push install the MSSQL iData Agent on the servers but I can’t find an example of creating AG Instance via API.

All,I’m looking for some guidance. There is a report that can be installed from the CV Store that claims to show “Active Jobs” and it does so, but only backup type jobs. Is anyone aware of a report like this but that shows Administrative type jobs as well? Essentially what I’d like to do is create a custom dashboard that would show any jobs that would be running in the job controller plus some other data/metrics. I want all this data to come from the Metrics Server’s CVCloud database. The table is there for the Admin jobs, so I know the data is there. I unfortunately don’t know anything about the report builder and/or MS SQL to build a customer report. It would be nice if this came as a canned report, but I haven’t found one. Thank you in advance for any and all guidance/input. Adam Davenport 

Hi,We have a dedicated mountpoint (filesystem) for Oracle archive logs.We use the schedule pattern every 4 hour and extra start of backups when disk at log destination is above 45%As a test I fill that archive directory far above 45%. The automatic arch backup didn't start.Do we miss something?Thanks,Ron

Hi Folks,I am trying to install Commvault 11.34 Trial on Windows 2019 Server. However, in the final stage of the installation process, Commvault is asking for the SQL Server sa user password. After changing the sa password several times using SQL server management studio, checking if the user logging is enabled, etc.. it’s still returning as invalid password. NOTE: The SQL server was installed by Commvault 11.34 installation package.How can I fix this issue?Thanks  

Is there a way to enable the Root User on a Hyperscale 1.5 node from command line? It was disabled when we deleted the storage pool and I was unaware we cannot run the umount command as the cvbackupadmin user.

 Hello, please, I need your help. I'm trying to add an ENDPOINT with Linux Mint 21.1 operating system locally, and when I try to install it, I get the following error. In the Commvault documentation, Linux Mint 21.1 is not listed as a supported operating system. However, I wanted to know if someone managed to install it or how I could proceed since the client only uses that operating system.

For Archived data produced by the OnePass feature in Commvault what determines the retention time in the Storage Policy Copy?There is a “Basic Retention Rule for All Backups” and a Basic Retention Rules for Data / Compliance Archiver Data. If I’m right the Basic Retention for All Backups setting would dictate retention for “backups” that were referenced by subclients to that storage policy and the latter would just reference data that was archived by OnePass and uses the same storage policy copy? So if the “Basic Retention Rules for Data / Compliance Archiver Data” setting is infinite data created by OnePass will never age out? Secondly if the schedule associated with OnePass is configured to do a nightly incremental and never a Full or Synth Full what is the impact of deleting a heap of Incremental Backups in the backup chain? A full was done only the first night this was set up.I was never intended to retain the Archived files indefinitely and as a result 3 years of unwanted non dedu

Hello please help.I installed commvault for a client and I have to make ENDPOINT backups.When I add a laptop I get the following error message. I'm new to commvault, I really appreciate your help.Error code: [68:574]Description: Required media version [11.32] with transaction Id [5494260] is missing in the Software Cache. CommServe may be installed with a lower version media. First full backup copy is partially copied to secondary copy, DASH is enabled, tried to recopy those jobs but steams will pick up the job id’s after sometime we see the network errors. Please provide solution to fix it.Note : Auxiliary copy is running over internet link.

Hello I have CS in 11.30.23 and MA in 11.30.52 (they both physical servers - windows 2012R2)and I want to upgrade to 11.32 version and the SQL you can see in the image that I attach below:Can I do the upgrade directly ?or maybe I need to upgrade the windows from 2012R2 to windows 2016?Thank you very much :)

Tried to search in documentation but could not find on where I can see the Auxiliary copy configuration and the settings what interval or time it will run to do the copy to secondary storage. Appreciate the help.

CV 11.32.43Recently upgraded from 28 to 32 and immediately noticed more than a single backup job running for the same snapshot.A little more context -  Run a full snapshot job on a VCenter Client, then a Backup Copy. Job started no problem.Few hours later, the automatic scheduled kicked in and another backup copy job on top of the one I started manually started as well (two running simultaneously for the same snap) - the new job, picked the VMs that were still waiting on the first job. While looking at the FR11.32 documentation I found the link below. We changed the Commcell service account password on the AD side. We thought we went into Commcell Console and updated the credential there. Everything was working fine, until a short time later and now we cannot login using our AD account (If I’m reading correctly, is that because the service account can no longer connect to the AD for an LDAP lookup?)Looking into the EvMgrS.log I can see this entry### EvSecurityMgr::userLogin() - processAdUser returned [-105], "Failed to connect to the domain server. Hello all!We are trying to create a group in Commvault for all hosts which have backup activity disabled.We do have found this setting: But a problem is that if machine contains agent backup types “inside” itself and backup is disbaled on agent level it won't show in this group. For example - if server SVR001 contains SQL and File System backup and we will disable ONLY File System backup on SVR001 it wont show in group which will be configured as screenshot above shows. My question is - how to show all disabled backups? No matter if backup is disabled at Client Level, or at agent level.

Hello all,I just hit a situation. When trying to change the LiveSync default storage policy, documentation told me that the new user defined storage policy for the commserve livesync feature should be NON deduplicated.Happens that this environment has as storage options an HSX RA appliance and tape storage.HSX RA is per design a deduplicated storage pool.Has any one faced this situation? I did not want to create another disk pool to satisfy this NON deduplication necessity. Is there any way out?Regards,

Looking for some input on the use of Data Access Nodes when backing up NFS shares.I noticed during a backup failure that my Proxy 1 in this case was down and backups went into a pending state. However there are several over proxies also available for the job as shown. So it is my understanding that the job will NOT go the list and pick the next one available. How do I make sure that Commvault uses the next available proxy on the list if first one or any of them fails?Can you point me to the right documentation where it talks about the failover for those nodes since I could not locate one?Thanks

Hello everyone, I have a quick question, I am fairly convinced this is the way to do it, but due to the nature of it, I am unsure and want to make extra sure.A few months ago, we deployed a new media agent in one of our Commcells, to replace the old Media Agent which was going EOL. We would now like to dismantle the old EOL, however, the old DDB on the old MA is still showing referenced jobs (132 of them):  We are now at a point where we can no longer wait for these jobs to naturally age out. Along with support, we have worked out a process to move all data away from the old media agent. Hello,we need a hardware refresh of search engines and there is no indexing anymore. All agents that were indexed are not active anymore. So we only have to keep the old index. The Commerve is on SP32.
