can anyone help me know the difference between Difference between retention lock ,Enabling WORM , compliance lock if we execute enable retention lock workflow will we be able to disable it later ?   

Hello Team,Just want to check, our requirement is that to take backup of 200 vms on nutanix with vmware environment. All the VMs are replicating with Nutanix to 2nd site. We want take backup of Commvault those vms.Pls advise best practise using network based or snap based backup on this environment.We are using hyperscale 3 nodes.Some of the vms want to take application aware backup. And what is the best process will follow ransomware protection on Hyperscale environment.Thanks in advance. 

Just to make sure. When does Commvault software start counting days for the purpose of expiring jobs on secondary copies? When backup jobs are immediately available on them? 

installed intellisnap in one of the media agent , agent installed successfully and job got failed . now all media agents are up but i am not able enable the root account  or cvbackupadmin of this media agent and i cannot login to any of the media agent using root but cvbackupadmin is able to login. i am not sure is it caused because intellisnap instllation ,i have attached log if some one can help

I have a ticket open for this already, but a number of Commvault techs seem to be stumped, so figured I’d post here. We have a single all-in-one windows commcell server, that is airgapped and has no direct internet access. We use it solely to back up desktops and notebooks, so we have deployed the Windows Edge Monitor agent to all of them. I thought that if you downloaded a new MR, and ran the install, not only does it stop the services, do all the hotfixes, and restart the services - that it should also update the software cache so you’ll be ready to update your Windows laptop agents as soon as it is done. This does not appear to be the case, as we just did this, and while the new version number appears in the command center dashboard as well as the bottom of the commcell console, there are no newer agent versions appearing in the software cache. If we try to do a copy software job to add the newer MR to the software cache, commvault will fail that job, saying “Error Code: [68:481] De

The media agent goes offline after a while. Restarting the services on the media agent resolves the problem temporarily, but it goes offline again after some time. All server groups are in the same VLAN. We recently transitioned to this system, using Exagrid84 as the backup storage. I have two media agents, one virtual and the other physical (named comm-media and comm-media1, respectively). This setup has been working smoothly for about 2 months. In an effort to reduce backup times, I prepared another virtual media agent and added it to Commvault. However, when I shared it as a third media agent to the Exagrid84 mount paths, both the paths and the comm-media agent went offline.While installing the Commvault agent on the third virtual machine, despite having .NET 4.7 on a Windows Server 2016, it prompted an error saying it should be version 3.5. Upon checking the working comm-media server, I noticed it wasn't installed, so I installed .NET 3.5 on both machines. Later, suspecting this co

 Does anyone have experience with creating Reports in Command Center using RestAPI?When you schedule a Report in Command Center you have the possibility to have it give you the RestAPI equivalent.By modifying that code to our needs (e.g. different Report name & recipients) we want to create Reports “automatically” with the API.As we need to create many Reports quite often (as we run a Multitenant environment) a potential API usage would save us a lot of time.When I try the POST command with the adjusted JSON payload to the URL mentioned (see screenshot below) it doesn’t work, no error, just nothing happens, so I’m wondering if there is something I’m missing.

Hello,opening a new thread becaus i couldn´t find anything covering my situation specifically.My client wants to upgrade his ComCell from SP16 to 11.32. I am aware, I have to upgrade to 2022E first and then 11.32 second. At the same time the underlying OS 2012R2 is supposed to be upgraded to 2019. The SQL Installation needs to be upgraded as well. Is there a best practice recomendation on the order of operation?Is it realistic to go well with doing all of this in place or would you recommend instaling everything on a new system and then moving the CommCell over to that new system via DR? Cheers for any recommendations!

i can see only incremental and log backup for server plan , we have requirement to keep weekly monthly to different retetion , i created custom plan where daily incremental is set and i have removed log backup schedule , when i tried to add anthoer schedule i dont find option as synthetic full , and if i click full its select database agent   

Hello,  we are using intellisnap backups to protect AWS EC2 instances however even though we set spool copy (no retention), the snapshot is not deleted after data aging runs (and completes without any issues). One snapshot is always left. Could anyone advise, please, if it is expected or something is not working properly?

Hi All, GreetingsWe have below Setup where Ovirt is integrated with Commvault. Commvault Proxy Server Version--11.32Commserve---11.32.28oVirt ---4.3.10.4-1.el7 We are facing problem for VM which are having more then two disks, as VSA Proxy server is not allowing to add the 3rd Disk. In our setup VSA proxy server is having only one disk. We are unable to add more then 3 disks to VSA proxy server. Is it a bug? regardsArup

Hey guys, we are trying to perform cross client restore of HANA DB. CV version on both clients is 11.28.102 and HANA installed on both is version 2. Destination pseudoclient has in HANA instance configured also source physical client (Modify instance propery → details → Hana Database instance contain both source and destination server). Both servers are on same network, connectivity was tested from both ends. Looking at M365 backups and see some restores takes quite a bit of time. From the CVMailRestore.log on the access node this line seems to indicate most of the restore time.CVFetchMessages::EnumerateFolder - Time taken to enumerate folder: [Inbox] is [00h:09m:16s]Based on this I’m wondering what this line means in term of performance? Where should i look to try to increase performance of this step? Is it enumerating the inbox in m365? Is it enumerating the inbox on the commvault indexingserver?Monitoring the accessnode and indexserver during the restore I cannot see any excessive use of CPU/RAM so unsure where to look, or if there is anything to speed this up?

Hi,I have the an on-prem 11.28 CommServe, combined MA & VSA Proxy backing up my VMware environment.I want to restore VM’s to VMware cloud on AWS, I add my pseudo client pointing at my AWS vCentre but I keep getting Failed to connect to vCenter server [https://vcenter.xxyyzz] as user [my username] from access node [Media Agent / Proxy].  [The remote name could not be resolved: 'https']I can confirmed the following ports.Port RequirementsIn an environment with firewalls, the vCenter, ESX servers, and Virtual Server Agent must be able to communicate with each other. To ensure that all components can communicate through the firewall, ensure that the ports for web services (default: 443) and TCP/IP (default: 902) are opened for bidirectional communication on each of these machines. Is this networking or do I need to put a VSA Proxy in AWS ? Regards
