we have strange issue , media agent is online and library is offline , and coming back online after sometime , some times media agent goes offline and come back online , and client backup is happening without any issue sometimes getting error saying unable to connect with remote machine . we dont have any firewall in between all are on same vlan , no antivirus ,the issues is intermittent , our media agent is a physical server Dell , we configured teaming for network in switch independent mode

How do I change the main admin commserve account password in Commvault? I know the current password I just can’t find where to change it.

Hi,Each job gives Read, Write, Network, and DDB lookup metrics.I’ve always understood “Network” to be “waiting on data transfer from the Client to the MA.”But I have a Client which is its own MA, and does parallel copy directly from itself to S3--but the “Network” number is still sometimes the highest percentage.What does “Network” mean in this context? (The DDB does live on a different MA.)Thanks!Sheree

HiWe want to be able to scale better but we need to still utilize our existing SANs as storageso as far as I can read we have two optionsSAN Data Server NAS box in front of our SAN (HNAS or something like that) I would to hear from people who use SAN Data Server what is your setup like and have you found any problems that I need to consider before going that route?  We have fiber channel connection from all MediaAgent to SAN today so we only need to buy a server and put the QLogic cards in then the infrastructure should be in place..Best regardsBjarke

Hello,I have Commvault server  simpana version 11.28.68, and a few Virtual machines (VMWare).I have a problem with browse specific file from this Virtual machines from backup which is on Tape library.I read that live browse is not allowed for simpana version 11.28.68 and index version2. We wanted to move backups of clients with disk library from one commserve to another and would like to continue the backups to the same disk library on new commserve. How can we achieve this?

Hi Everyone,We have multiple commserve’s available, in one of the commserve when I tried to execute below SQL query to fetch the data it’s taking more than 7 mins to complete where environment is smaller in size. Dear all, I need some help, the client is requesting an automated process for installing agents in commvault, so that on boot he can call this through a package configuration or something like that so that as soon as he starts the VM everything goes up the automatic installation, does commvault have any process of this type? It also needs this configuration for the commserver and media agents. Does the commvault tool have this type of automation?

Hello,we got several LTO4 Tapes from a customer to recover files from it. The IT-Department doesn’t exist anymore and the contact person has no clue about anything. We successful imaged 2 Tapes an in the first sector we saw “CommVault Media Label… CommVault Systems Galaxy” Entrys. What brings me here. ;-)How can we restore files from the tapes, what do we need. Thanks in advance.

hi , i have done the vmware application validation ,and its working , but i wonder how to select which storage policy copy it should validate it from ,i have prodcution site and DR site , and i want the backup validation happen from the secondary copy of Storage policy is there anyway i can select the copy precedence during the app validation

I’ve been asked by the company lawyer to recover an email.  I can go into Compliance Search, specify the user in the FROM area, enter a search term and find the desired email.  So far so good.  Next I select Export to > PST > and enter a file name.  My question is:  Where does this file go?  It’s not in the Downloads folder of my local drive or anywhere on my local machine.  It’s not on the CommVault web server and not anywhere on the CommServer either.  So… any ideas?Ken
