Hi all I have a two part question. I have 2 storage libraries which replicate from Production to DR. Commvault isn’t aware of this replication and therefore the DR library is effectively a ‘dumb’ copy.If I get the Replica Disk Library working, will the existing data on the DR copy be visible to Commvault, or only newly replicated data post creation of the Replica Library creation? Regarding the creation of the Replica Disk Library, I’ve run into some issues whereby I create it and the data isn’t visible. This is currently being done in a Lab environment so as to not interfere with the customer’s data. I somehow need to configure Commvault at the customer’s site that’ll allow it to recognise the replicated data that it hasn’t been managing. According to the documentation, the following steps should be completed. 

Hello I tried to restore messages from Exchange DB and the job  of persistent recovery stuck on 5% (the backup locate in disks not tapes)and in the media agent that need to create the  recovery point I receive this error in 3dnfs.log:“Failed to send keep alive message to Restore head”maybe I need to restore the DB and then restore messages from DB offline  thank you . 

Hello,Currently, I am using a media agent server with Tape Library LTO 6. We are in the process of purchasing a new tape library, LTO9. Do I have the ability to connect to a parallel 2 tape library? There will be no backups performed on the old system, but items will need to be restored if necessary; the new system will need to copy the new data.

Hi, Has anyone come across a quarantine issue on commvault files by checkpoint endpoint antivirus ? It seems like the files are not signed hence, they are recognized by checkpoint as malware or other menaces. If so, how have you been able to work around it? Regards.

Hello Commvault community,I would like to talk about “Virtual Machine(s) has been decommissioned” alerts.I see that Commvault can understand when a VM is decommissioned.So, in order to safe a Commvault license for this decommissioned VM, I need to manual remove it from VM group or Commvault can handle that automatically?Moreover, it is also necessary to delete the history / previous VM backup jobs (for this decommissioned VM), so stop to consume Commvault VM license?Best regards,Nikos

Hello all!  I am facing a problem with capacity licence.I have exceeded 110% while creating backup for end of year export.But we have done housekeeping after that, and now we are about 92%, please have a look:In web console, I also can see this chart:but still I get a warning on console:And it forces me to reset it every 96h… The system is running at this 92% consumption for about 5 days. Today i have found this in web console in other place…

There used to be a command in the documentation using which I used to increase the number of rows in the reports, which is by the way set to maximum 10000 rows. I know that we can go past 10000 using reports in command center or web console. But here I am asking about the same to be done in commcell console reports. I know there was a command and I used that several times. But now its nowhere to be found. Does anyone remembers that?

Hello Team,Just want to check, our requirement is that to take backup of 200 vms on nutanix with vmware environment. All the VMs are replicating with Nutanix to 2nd site. We want take backup of Commvault those vms.Pls advise best practise using network based or snap based backup on this environment.We are using hyperscale 3 nodes.Some of the vms want to take application aware backup. And what is the best process will follow ransomware protection on Hyperscale environment.Thanks in advance. 

Just to make sure. When does Commvault software start counting days for the purpose of expiring jobs on secondary copies? When backup jobs are immediately available on them? 

Hi,We are going to setup HyperScale X to our customer. As you know they need to create DNS records. Customer said they will do DNS records but they have a question for Active Directory integration. They are using IDM server for adding Linux servers to Windows AD. Question is;Is it possible to add HyperScale X nodes to AD with IDM?

installed intellisnap in one of the media agent , agent installed successfully and job got failed . now all media agents are up but i am not able enable the root account  or cvbackupadmin of this media agent and i cannot login to any of the media agent using root but cvbackupadmin is able to login. i am not sure is it caused because intellisnap instllation ,i have attached log if some one can help

I have a ticket open for this already, but a number of Commvault techs seem to be stumped, so figured I’d post here. We have a single all-in-one windows commcell server, that is airgapped and has no direct internet access. We use it solely to back up desktops and notebooks, so we have deployed the Windows Edge Monitor agent to all of them. I thought that if you downloaded a new MR, and ran the install, not only does it stop the services, do all the hotfixes, and restart the services - that it should also update the software cache so you’ll be ready to update your Windows laptop agents as soon as it is done. This does not appear to be the case, as we just did this, and while the new version number appears in the command center dashboard as well as the bottom of the commcell console, there are no newer agent versions appearing in the software cache. If we try to do a copy software job to add the newer MR to the software cache, commvault will fail th

The media agent goes offline after a while. Restarting the services on the media agent resolves the problem temporarily, but it goes offline again after some time. All server groups are in the same VLAN. We recently transitioned to this system, using Exagrid84 as the backup storage. I have two media agents, one virtual and the other physical (named comm-media and comm-media1, respectively). This setup has been working smoothly for about 2 months. In an effort to reduce backup times, I prepared another virtual media agent and added it to Commvault. However, when I shared it as a third media agent to the Exagrid84 mount paths, both the paths and the comm-media agent went offline.While installing the Commvault agent on the third virtual machine, despite having .NET 4.7 on a Windows Server 2016, it prompted an error saying it should be version 3.5. Upon checking the working comm-media server, I noticed it wasn't installed, so I installed .NET 3.5 on both machines. La

 Does anyone have experience with creating Reports in Command Center using RestAPI?When you schedule a Report in Command Center you have the possibility to have it give you the RestAPI equivalent.By modifying that code to our needs (e.g. different Report name & recipients) we want to create Reports “automatically” with the API.As we need to create many Reports quite often (as we run a Multitenant environment) a potential API usage would save us a lot of time.When I try the POST command with the adjusted JSON payload to the URL mentioned (see screenshot below) it doesn’t work, no error, just nothing happens, so I’m wondering if there is something I’m missing.
