Hello, Over the last few months, we have adapted the Command Center so that our customers can now set up and carry out backups independently. Agent is offered via the Download Center. Installation and assignment to the corresponding company is carried out via the AuthCode. It all works so far. Only if the customer wants to create a user for backing up a database, for example, do we receive the following message:Failed to verify user [eos\SVC_IMVPMS5J_SQL_RW] for instance [imvpms5j]. Verify that services are online and with the correct user name and password.If I then enter the same data via the console as an admin, it will be saved and the backup can be carried out.Has anyone had these problems or is it possible that the permissions are not yet correct? Who might have a little more experience in this area and could help me here?RegardsThomas

Hello everyone,there is some way to get a list of all jobs that are protected by specific Index Job in a Storage Policy?I have several tapes that are not being exported.Cross-checking the data between Index Backup Retention report and Forecast Report these taped are not being released because of an index job that is protecting backup jobs.The problem is that I cannot find in the history of whole storage policy the jobs indicated as protected. Thanks and regard

environment is running at 11.32.23 version and we are in the process of refreshing the environment. We have 1 old media agent running backups to Network storage. we have added a new media server to environment, configured new mount paths to the same storage in Grid configuration. Backups and restores from and to this storage is working fine. We have a DR setup with the same configuration. When we are trying to run a AUX copy from the new media agent in DC to DR storage, the AUX copies are failing with this error. I am attaching the log and screen shot for referenceany urgent help will be appreciated. Going to support is taking a long time to get an answer. we are waiting for 4 days for an answer for an another issue 

I am looking for a command wherein i can just give VM Name and delete that VM from Subclient which has many VMs in it. Is there a command or an XML using which this can be achieved. Need to use it for decommission process.

I have some questions:I am currently using 3 CommCell in my system. Suppose I copy backup files from HPE StoreOnce A (Data Center) to HPE StoreOnce B (Data Center) through Storage Policy. The question is, if the entire system at the Data Center encounters a failure, how can I restore the files and VMs that have been backed up from HPE StoreOnce B. If the CommServe is located in the Data Center, can I use a different CommServe at the Disaster Recovery (DR) site for the restoration process? Please kindly send me instructions for registering a new customer. Is this registration possible before I have the license file

Hello,Just wondering if there was a specific way to control who (via a creation of a role potentially?) has access to administer and manage certain backup workloads from other backup workloads? Trying to work out how one would specifically segment this access and functionality. E.g. Database Admin only has access to be able to Managed backups and restore SQL Database backups.Kind thanksMark

I’m looking to migrate to new Server Hardware for one of my Media Agents and looking for best approach and minimal downtime.Was thinking I could setup the new hardware with the media agent role/software and start to move mount paths to the new server.  Once all mount paths have been moved to the new MA I can then update my storage policies to point to the new MA.  Is there anything else I need to look out for or would need to do?Any advice or knowledge on this would be great.Thanks 

Hello, we use cv11.28.83I have the following question: I have activated the option “Index files after backup” on a vm group in a vcenter client. After the backup was finished a file indexing job is started. I must determine the status of the job. (completed, completed with errors or failed .... )  My question, is a report available on commcell console or webconsole which can show me the status of the finished “File Indexing” Jobs?  regards Roland   

I have a VSA subclient that has a Group defined for the proxies but when I watch the jobs it appears that only the first proxy in the group is being used. Several other subclients with different proxy groups appear to be exhibiting the same behaviour.This wouldn’t be so bad except that I ran into a problem where the first proxy in the group could not communicate but the backup kept trying to use that proxy instead of attemempting the job with another proxy in the group.

Hi all,I have my current MA which has iSCI QNAP storage disks. I want to move all data to a new MA and start using this one.How is suposed to do this about storage disks? I just want to disconnect iscsi from old and connect to the new one but I dont know how to do it at Commvault.Do I must use “share mountpath” or “move mountpath”? (no need to copy data, just present the disks at the new MA and start using it)Im a bit confused about that. Im using Comvault 11.28Thanks in advanceJoan

Hi, I backup Databases hosted on a Microsoft CLuster I created the Microsoft pseudo client and add a SQL instance on it. I also backup each Microsoft node through the filesystem agent.I have enabled System state on each node.The default subclient backup only the C and local drives.I created another subclient on each node, but I can specify the disks presented by storage only on the active node. What is the correct way to backup the remote disks present on the Active node.Those disks are presented by a Storage and have their letters R,S,TIf a failover occurs, those disk are owned by the remaining node.  I tried to add a subclient at FIle System agent on the cluster it self, but it backups only the quorum disk and it gaves an error message. Thanks for your help !

Could you please help me?Tried Non-interactive method with response file and Interactive method.It says that the client name is already exist but i cannot answer to the question to proceed.Does anyone came accross this error ? do you know how to remove the “ClientName_recovery” which exists already?Thanks in advance.Regads

Hi guys. We have a customer running Commvault v11.24 (Commserve and 1x Media Agent) on Windows 2012. An OS upgrade to W2019 + CV upgrade to v11.32 will be happening soon. It’s a small environment with Exchange Compliance Archiver Agent installed on the CommServe server archiving a few email msgs from legacy systems per day on Exchange on-prem. The Search node for this agent is running on the Media Agent however the Index sits on the CommServe server. The decommissioning of this environment will happen in 12-18 months only. From the Deprecation Note...  https://documentation.commvault.com/11.24/essential/157248_deprecation_notice_for_exchange_compliance_archiver_agent.html...the replacement is the new Exchange Agent. A new client server will be created and the new Exchange agent installed on it. The idea is to keep the Commserve server clean and steady without any other role running. But, in replacing and decommissioning the old Exchange Agent what happen with the Search Node and index?

Is the ASP.NET needed on Commserve or Media Agents?I know that .NET libraries are possible, but I would like to know if we can remove ASP.NET components or it is necessary for Commvault. If so - in which version? Commvault version is 11.32.26
