Jobs mark bad

I want to move jobs from disk to tape, when I run the auxiliary copy it gives me an error when it finds a CHUNK and some of the jobs are marked as bad, try to mark them as good and it gives me the following error "the selectted job cannont be marked good , since it has been marked bad by the system during a read operations"Already validate at the Operating System level that the CHUNKs are in the corresponding route.If I try to view the backup data for those bad jobs through a restore I can view and navigate to the file to restore Is there any way to recover the good status of the jobs?

How to deal with divide Commserv Environment or solution for blocking connections to Russia.

Hello, In our Global infrastructure we have some backup solution which is managed by one global Commserve. In current situation we worry about connectivity to some Media Agents in Russia and possibility in the further that the connection to Media Agents from Europe can be blocked and my question how to prepare infrastructure on that task, to not lost possibility of restore and backup server in Russia. Or what type of solution can be implemented ? I can imagine that the task can be difficult to divide Commserves on Two machines and when the situation will be more stable we would like to merge both Commservs. Situation between the Russia and rest World is very dynamic, so we don’t know when that solution will be useful. Regards, Michal

How to Replace the webconsole cert after it has expired

We use a wildcard cert in or organization and it had recently expired.  So when I try to get to the webconsole Im getting a “NET::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID”  .    I have the new wildcard cert (*wildcard-cert.pfx file)Im not proficient in the certs department.  So do I just copy this cert to the C:\Program Files\Commvault\ContentStore\Apache\conf\ directory.   This is where I see the same cert name which Im assuming is the expired cert.I looked in the server.xml file and saw the following -    <Certificate certificateKeystoreFile="conf/XXX-XXX-wildcard-cert.pfx" certificateKeystorePassword="XXXXXXXXXX" certificateKeystoreType="PKCS12"/>  Or is there a particular command I need to run to add the new wildcard cert  (pfx file) to a keystore etc..? Please advise..ThanksBC

hi I am enquiring if the 11.20 and 11.24 release version of backup server and client can run on OS platforms without oracle Java but using OpenJDK.I can't seems to find any supportability document that mentions about the supportability of java edition

Effective searches on documentation.commvault.com

I’m not sure exactly when it happened but the documentation site has been bifurcated into “Essential” and “Expert”  I find that most of the time when I search the site it takes me to essential which almost never has what I am looking for.  Typically I would have to then navigate through the expert tree to find what I am looking for.Is there a way to limit where your searches happen?

Red hat Openshift for FR 26

Hello Commvault Community,  I have a question about configuration Red Hat Openshift in FR26.The documentation shows that Red Hat Openshift is deprecate from version FR26, hence my question is whether it is possible to use the Openshift solution under a Kubernetes configuration, to which it is recommended to go? Red Hat OpenShift: Deprecatedhttps://documentation.commvault.com/11.26/essential/121691_red_hat_openshift_deprecated.html “Support for Openshift's OADP for backups?”   OpenShift is a new solution they have bought and want to protect their data with it and through Commvault. Commvault Problem recognizing new tapes.

Tapes are not write protected physically but commvault shows the tapes are bad and write protected for all the new tapes. any suggestion on this?

HyperV cluster and Windows cluster at the same time?

My question: Can clients be member of two clusters? For instance, we have three hyperV hosts in a HyperV-cluster in Commvault - Can they also be a member of a Windows cluster at the same time?I tried adding the three HyperV hosts to a Windows cluster in Commvault, but it fails:Cluster group [test] configuration was saved on CommServe successfully.Remote nodes update failed: (Use force sync option to update the nodes later.)[Server1]. Reason: <There was error during initialization of information from input XML / local registry.>[Server2]. Decoupled package, "add client" from a specific Commcell only?

Hi everyone..  Scenario: On a VM, a decoupled package is installed in case of the VM owner decides to install some sort of database application on it. A DB IDA now needs to be installed to handle the DB backups.. The VM itself is ofc already being backed up by a VSA job.The backup admin can then simply "add client" and retrieve config from the client and then push whatever IDA is needed.  Question:How can one limit that the "add client" and retrieve config  can only be done from one specific Commcell? I mean, what could prevent me from starting up my rouge Commcell running on my laptop, connect the client and steal all the data by running a full FS backup before the REAL backup admin adds it to the REAL Commcell?   Might be a stupid question and maybe the fit of my tinfoil hat is way too tight.. :-) But my question is: Is there some way to configure the decoupled package so only "add client" requests from a specific Commcell would be allowed?Thank you for any input anyone of you may pr

Hyperscale temperature monitoring data report/Alerts

Hi Everyone,One of the customer is looking for temperature monitoring data  for their available Hyperscale hardware where it can give min max average, trend etc. I  looked for available alerts from cv but couldn't find as such..  From below link it just give Operating ambient and non-operating temperature of hyperscale devices.. Is there a way to make a subclient eligible for subclient policy association?

Good Afternoon, I have a few clients that when I try to associate with the subclient policy their backup-set does not show up. this is presumably because they are somehow not eligible to setup to use a subclient policy.Is there a way to make these clients eligible without losing data in the existing subclients? Thanks.Chris.

MS365, Onedrive, failed files

A Onedrive job is “completed with errors” and displaying the number 82 in the “Failed files” column.When getting the failed items list, “only” 77 items are displayed. Can we provide the customer with a good reason for this, why it says 82, but we can only show them 77..Like the files are too corrupted, and commvault is unable to display them or something..?

How to retire a DDB?

Hi all If I can just confirm something that I think makes sense.In my case, I have a Media Agent that only backed itself up and hosted it’s own DDB.This client no longer backs itself up. It’s retentions have all been met and no data resides on the Storage Policy or the DDB.I want to remove the alert in the Command Centre that notifies me the DDB isn’t being backed up.If I understand correctly, I just do the below in this order: Retire DDB using the ddb_sealing.xml Delete Storage Policy Delete Media Agent and associated Library? Thanks.Mauro

Is the workflow engine custom or is it a modified version of another workflow engine?

I was trying to google some of the internal workflow entity information and I started to realize that Java itself provides a way of implementing workflows and that there are several third party workflow activity engines. That is to say a way to work on the workflows at a slightly lower level where the XML of the workflow is edited directly. The reason I ask is that I am looking for a way to manage not only the workflows but different reusable bits of the workflows like common SQL queries and custom bits of code for building java objects.If there is a third party engine in use then it becomes much easier to manager these elements. Thanks.Chris.

Hello All,I have to replicate the S3 cloud library (backed up data) to another S3 bucket in different region which can be achieved by Configuring Replication for Cloud Storage (https://documentation.commvault.com/11.25/expert/9279_configuring_replication_for_cloud_storage.html) Although I need a clarity on how it works.Step 1: As per my understanding I have to create two buckets with versioning enabled on it and I should configure two cloud libraries accessible by each media agent specific to the region where S3 is hosted.Step 2: We need to request the AWS admins to use the native replication to copy the backed up data to new S3. Post copy, we can use another media agent to read and restore the data using commvault.Am I correct with my understanding?Also documentation says an additional information : For Amazon S3 replication, enable versioning in both the source and destination buckets in Amazon S3. VM File level restore create new destination folder

HI team, I would like to check on the VM file level restore via FREL, the restored file is not being placed in exactly what destination i have provided from the job- instead it creates a new folder called “Volumegroup” and it follows the destination path which i gave from the job and the data is being restored there? may i know is this a right behavior to create a folder ”volumegroup” automatically? could it be due to LVM disk this mounts and creates a folder like this? pls help

How to fetch Backup Duration Trend via Job Summary/shortcut

I have to fetch a monthly report where for example, Agent Type Virtual Server. For this agent I’ll fetch the Job historyfor each day and will apply sorting descending on Duration column. Then manually enter the duration in my report.For this, is there a shortcut from Reports or some other option? Where I can fetch the highest duration by agent type for a range of dates. For each date highest duration. Like we have
