Hey good people at CV!We are getting hourly “Unusual performance drop detected in pruning” event viewer events.I have noticed there was a hotfix here: https://kb.commvault.com/article/77146 , however it seems that 11.28.10 is the currently installed version.At first glance and after reading a few threads here concerning the same issue before posting a repeat topic, I figured it might work itself out.Is there anything else that can be done? Just trying to be proactive.Here is the message to follow, and there seems to be a single Job Record to be Deleted when viewing the DDB Pruning Performance Anomaly Report.Unusual performance drop detected in pruning for following deduplication databases due to increase in (CommServe Job Records to be Deleted)Thanks in advance!

Hello all, is there a possibility to move the saved data from one library to another ?We have two full backups on which we have set the retention until next year. The rest of the backups continue with the normal retention of 30 days and 4 cycles. However, I would like to move the backups that need to be retained until next year to our object storage. I have already prepared the connection to the object storage. I just need to know how to move the data.  Kind RegardsThomas

Trying to check this option in the Retention tab of the Storage Policy copy, but it doesn't stay selected when I close and re-open the settings window. Am I missing something obvious?

Hi :) If I set it to schedule automatically for my fulls at 30 day intervals, will the fulls of the VMs residing on the subclient run at the same time? If yes, what does automatic scheduling provide? Regards

The certificate also works, but it expires after 87 days. How can that be and why is it only 397 days? 

I have a customer who has configured SAML within their environment that’s currently on 11.28 (2022E). If they login via the Web Console/Command Center, the SAML authentication is required. Local users are unable to access the environment. However, when logging in via the CommCell Console, users are able to authenticate using either local accounts or SAML and access the environment.Is there anyway to enforce the use of only SAML on the CommCell Console and not allow local users to authenticate successfully?

The other day I noticed a Critical item in health dashboard under DDB backup section stating one of the store isn't protected.. Noticed the DDB store itself got auto created a day back keeping the old one active..  I noticed this across various environments where we have multiple DDB store with different ID gets created and all of them are actively used.. Couldn't find any documentation that explains it.. It would be helpful if someone throws some light here.. Thanks.. Below is the one i was referring to where DDB store 72 got auto created and if you notice for FS and DB agent store we have multiple ID’ present... 

HI Team,  Greetings!On the mount path, when i click view content(attached snap). last backup time is showing as 9/9/2022 but backups are running fine on the mount path. from storage policy, i can see that jobs are showing on the mount point by using view media. i am using sp11.20.85. looks like bug. did anyone have any idea about it ?

I have installed Linux MA with RHEL 8 OS and attached a 2.9TB NVMe Disk  formatted using LVM and divided In equally into two partitions (1.4TB for each one ) when trying to add storage pool and specify DDB path I get an error (The path doesn’t have sufficient space to perform a DDB backup) although no data written yet  NVMe Partition with no data  

I am deleting a number of Storage Policy Copies  and have noticed that Big Data Apps Index backups do not age like other backups. I have manually copied these backups to long term storage and run data aging expecting the backup to disappear from my short term retention policy. It seems as though these backups do not recognise when there are multiple copies. do I need to manually delete the extra copies?

Hi,Today I ran auxiliary and backup copies via a Windows batch script and the qoperation command/xml parameters.It works well, but i wanted to do something more 21th centuries, more stable (the qcommand response sometimes change with new versions) and something redundant by using directly the webserver and the rest api.But i don’t find how to do it in the documentation. We have the possibility to create an auxiliary copy, but not to launch it. I’m quite surprised. Please say i'm wrong.Thank you.

We are currently accessing our Java GUI CommCell Console and SQL Server Management Studio, installed directly on the CommServe Server. According to the link found below, CommVault recommends installing these Management Utilities on a Proxy server, as the extract hereafter specifies:“Do not log on to the CommServe or MediaAgent computer directly. Hello,I am new to CommVault and attempting to remotely deploy MediaAgents and Virtual Server Agents using a PowerShell script.I created a custom package selecting the “Virtualization” role (Per this article: https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/essential/135950_installation_roles_and_packages.html). I did not create a self-extracting executable file because it failed to generate one, so my package files are all contained with a folder.The package successfully installs, but it is only installing the “File System Core” component. Even though my install.xml file explicitly says “ selectedRoles="51,713" “ which I noted are the Media Agent and Virtual Server in WinPackages.xml.Is my install.xml not being read properly?Here is my PowerShell one-liner:(start-process "C:\localpath\S

I configured a Global Command Center by registering the remote CommCells as outlined in https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/essential/151227_global_command_center.html.  When you register the remote CommCell, it asks for the Service CommCell host name along with username and password.  It then reaches out and synchronizes the service CommCells.For some reason, when I look at the CommCell names under Service CommCells, it is inconsistent.  Some are showing a CommCell ID/Registration number while others have the full hostname and others have the short CommCell name.Where is it pulling that CommCell Name from?  Can it be edited?It would be nice if you could edit the CommCell names on the Service CommCells page to input a friendly name so that the other admins would know which one it was.  Perhaps tha

Hello Commvault Community,  At the beginning, I will explain the situations that we need to meet with the client. We have a production environment with several TapeLibraries and a few DiskLibraries. The client decided that he would like to use the newly created, dedicated Scratch Pools, but he wants them to be automated. This is to work in such a way that for certain Storage Policy copies LTO-7 tape is to be taken or in the second case LTO-8. This configuration is intended to apply to multiple Storage Policy Copies. We'd rather avoid creating all Storage Policies from scratch. However, we know that the Storage Pool settings define the "Default Scratch Pool" settings, where you cannot select individual ones for each copy and additionally, you cannot change it if the copy is already running and has data saved, but we probably found a workaround for this. When we create a new copy to tapes, for an existing Storage Pol

Hi,I’m working on an issue with DDB Verification on a HyperScale X environment.I talked to someone at Commvault Support who explained that planned DDB verifications were removed from the best practices on HyperScale X because it could impact Space Reclamation Jobs, aswell as impact performance. However, our customer needs to be able to produce reports to document and prove compliance in regards to ISO certifications. They were able to import a report on their Private Metrics Reporting server so they can generate reports based on Admin jobs.However, they are noticing that DDB verifications are taking a very long time and they aren’t actually completing, so all subsequent DDB verification are just queueing up. The DDBs in this environment are very large.Does anybody have a suggestion how we could solve this issue and actually getting these DDB verification jobs to finish in a timely manner? Would scheduling them more often solve the issue?Look
