Hi,we create new client (Exchange DAG) and the discovery works fine. But the discovered member servers are not available. They are greyed out and I cannot select any of them. Our AD User accout is correctly configured. Any ideas?  Thank you.  

This is regarding Exchange Online backup. We are trying to restore mails form mailbox but it seems not able to mount the backup file. We do not have any error regarding backups (archive).We are not sure to understand “Check if playback succeded.” does it mean mouting the backup file and read it (scan)? we are supposed to have a job for restore but it seems, we are not even starting to mount the backup fileWe have job history regarding backups (it did backup) but backup size is 0.Something happen during the selection? Where it’s coming from? Someone can help?ThanksST

Hi Commvaulters, Hope everyone is doing good.We have a new cloud library, that is being set up by our storage team, we have 2 Media Agents that will be able to use the new Library. We want to set up some High Availability between the 2 MAs accessing the cloud library, after some researches on the Commvault documentation, I came through GridStor (Alternate Data Paths).I wonder If it’s possible to share the same bucket between the two MAs (like an NFS share on Linux), in that way, if one of the MAs fails, the jobs will fail over to the second one ?On the documentation, I’ve seen that you have to configure one of the MA1 to mount the volume, which allows it to access the volume as local disk then share the volume to MA2 in order to access it using UNC paths. In this specific scenario, doesn’t that mean, if my MA1 fails, then also MA2 loses its access to the volume since it's shared by MA1 ? All this is a bit confusing, since it's the first time we are trying to implement this MAs HA using

When installing Commserve in a Windows Failover Cluster, what actually lives on the cluster disks?  I can’t seem to figure that out from the documentation.

We  use Intellisnap to create AWS EC2 snapshot, and run backup copy to move them to AWS S3.  Backup copy through is only 50GB per hour. I see backup job transport type is EBS-Direct-API. We don’t deploy EBS-Direct-API, should spend time to review it internally. Any chance to change transport type to get best performance?

Hi All, we had the challange that we need to configure the MFA for the enviroment. So We add to every commvault account an mail adresse this had now the impact that all alerts will send automatacilly.  Is there any possibility to disable mail notfication for a list of users or group ?  Change settings for all Allerts is not an option also chaniging the mail adress is not an option. 

Hello good,We are configuring some reports from the Web report, we have detected that two cases occur when naming the report.#1 - The name of the pdf file that is sent by mail is the sum of the "Report custom name" field + the "Name" field#2 - The name of the file that we save in a network path is saved only with the name of the "Report custom name" field.We are wondering if it is possible in case #2 to save the pdf in the network path with the same name as case #1 explained above.Is there any way to be able to do it?Thank you,All the best.

Commvault services goes into disabled mode after coming back from DR failover

Hello everyone,Recently, we started testing REST APIs with our Commvault test environment. The tests were successful with less than 5 subclients running with the REST API. However, as soon as I increase the load to 50, 100 or 200 simultaneous subscribers, I notice that the CommServ is very slow to take the jobs into account. Subclient jobs appear 6 by 6 and it takes me 15min to handle 100jobs by the CommServ.I have done a lot of research but I have not found anything in the Commvault documentation that could lead to this anomaly.Has anyone using the REST API on their Commvault environment ever noticed this type of behavior?For information: Commserv in version 11.26.18Python script to call the REST API

Hi Folks, I have created a new Subclient policy for taking only office files backup.but when i associated this to my clients. They now have two policies one is default and other is new which i created and this created a failed backup job for the default policy. I am not able to remove that default from policy , how can i resolve this? 

Hi, I can’t seem to create a failover groups.I’ve created a Replication group and the replication is working, I can even do a test, planned and unplanned failover. However when I try to create a failover group the VMs it says I don’t have any VMs under the requisites. Thanks for the help,HA

Hi all,we would like to enable parallel copying, so that one aux copy job writes to multiple tapes at the same time to speed up the copy but also restore process.I have already increased the device stream in the copy to 2, but it continues to copy with only one drive.  Are there any other settings to be made for this?Thanks in advance

Hi everyone, We would like to know on detail if it’s possible to assign a custom Schedule (or Job Start Time) for O365 Backups on Exchange, SPO, OneDrive and MSTeams Backup Jobs using Metallic for O365.As per documentation says on Exchange Online App we understand that is not possible (even on the option of Job Start Time appears).The documentation says the following for Exchange Online“Backups run according to the schedule and settings that are specified in the server plan, which the Metallic software automatically assigns to the each Office 365 app based on the region.Backups run automatically every 8 hours. If a backup is already running, then the 8-hour-interval backup is skipped. Hello,Im looking for best practices about MS SQL DB backup with the following requirements:Full DB backup / per day Log backups every 10’I see from Command Center, that the “default” Plan is to have Synthetic Full, Incremental and Log backups.Whats the best practice to start with? I was thinking to leave only the Synthetic Full backup once a day and the Log backup every 10’. And delete the incremental backup from Schedule.    Is this enough ? Thank you in advance!

Hi, I would like to test a Full System Recovery of Active Directory, not the backuped data itself, but the procedure. 2 DC’s (Windows 2008 R2) with agents installed. According to the documentation, In the event of a disaster, I can recover the full system by using either 1-Touch Bare Metal Recovery or a full system recovery.In my case, I want to test “Full System Recovery: Recovering a Domain Controller” documentation starting from second item (Restoring the file system data). Why do we have 3 options there? Primary, Non-Authoritative and Authoritative.  Microsoft documentation cites only two options.The restoration of a domain controller can be performed in one of two ways: with a non-authoritative or an authoritative restore. Where does the Primary option comes from? I have the impression that the following option refers to restoring a server with the Microsoft Clustering service installed. Hi, Today, when I tried to restore a whole VM from a tape backup that is 1 month old, it gave me the below message, asking for a missing tape for index restore to browse So, I loaded the tape 66L8, in fact, I loaded all the tapes needed for this backup job. As you can see from the below screenshot, all the tapes needed for this backup job are in the tape library now.  But, it doesn’t make any difference. The restore is still giving me the same message, i.e. asking for the same missing tape (which has been loaded in the tape library) for index restore to browse  So, I’m wondering if anyone can tell me what’s still missing here for this restore job ? Or I actually need to hit the “Restore Index” button ? Sorry if I asked a stupid question as this is the first time I need to do a VM restore from tapes. Thanks very much, Kelvin

Hello, We have ran into a very strange issue. After we upgraded to FR26 our Windows team has been complaining that the Hyper-V nodes are going into non-responsive state during the backups and in some cases they have to force a reboot to bring those nodes and VMs back online. They have provided below data to support their side of the argument: The issue is only observed during the backup window. While the backups progress, multiple disk/vhdx related error/warning messages are being logged: Disk 208 has the same disk identifiers as one or more disks connected to the system. A timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the GxCVD(Instance001) service. All Commvault services report this.  The disk signature of disk 208 is equal to the disk signature of disk 5. I need to configure a new Exchange DAG.In the configuration settings there is an user to specify. The Exchange Administrators are asking me which are the right permission to assign to that user at Exchange level.I don’t find in the documentation a clear answer. Someone can help me ?Thanks

Hi All, We are trying to restore the Commserve DB manually on another server using the CSrecovery assistant tool (Command line). The destination CS has exactly same commvault version and hotfix applied. but when we run below command :CSRecoveryAssistant.exe -operation Recovery -skipdumpthen we get error that version on source and destination is not same. Please suggest
