Hi,I restored the Commserver DR backup to another server. This is the first time I’m doing this so after restore I noticed that the configured disk and tape library in the destination server has changed reflecting the disk and tape library from the original server. I tried to add the destination server as another media agent but it is not allowing. How do i proceed to use the tape and disk library in the destination server after the restore?Please advise.
Hello So I am trying to access the api explorer.I have tried clicking the link in the command center however all I get is a certificate error and a white screen.I can however access the sandbox just fine.Any ideas as to what the issue may be? And could this be why I am unable to get a authentication token from the api?When running the python script for authentication it returns with login failed.I am master and system admin so there should not be any permissions missing regarding my user. Hopefully someone has any ideasThanks.

Hi, we are using OnePass for Filesystem and Content Indexing the archived data. For that we have one CI Server in a CI Cloud. Now we want to Upgrade the OS of the Server in-place. is this possible or do I have to create a new Index server and content indexing all jobs again?
My company has been doing things entirely wrong with Commvault, and it has led to a situation where data was not recoverable. When an employee leaves and returns a laptop, that laptop will be re-imaged and re-issued to a different/new employee. The previous admin would change the host name for the client, adding --old, so that it no longer matched, disabled Data Aging for the client, then released the license and make the computer inactive. They would then push the software back out to the re-imaged laptop as a new client. This worked in older versions of CV, apparently, but it was violating license usage, and now it doesn’t work at all. Are legal holds the only way to maintain the data from a client that will be re-imaged and re-issued, or is there a process for this I can’t find in the CV documentation?
Hi! Here, it is mentioned that you can enable Incremental Backup in Cassandra. However, Cassandra documentation explicitly states that incremental backup files are not automatically cleared. Now, I assume that Commvault will clear the incremental backup files after a successful backup job, but I would like to have confirmation on that. Does CV do that? Documentation makes no reference of it (or I could not find it). Thanks!
HelloI have a Windows 2008R2 VM files servers of 18TB that I backup by VM only with a name XXI will change the server by another VM windows 2019 with a name XY that I will copy the files (18 TB)When the copie is done I will close VM - XX and rename VM XY in XX.How the deduplication will handel the copied data in the back end ? I have 14TB off free space.What is the best way to backup a large VM like that. Continue by VM backup or switch to File system backup with CV Agent ?Thanks in advanceSL
We have an existing CommServe and we’ve recently added the LiveSync option to it. (CSMain.domain.local and CSMainLiveSync.domain.local) We created another CommServe for backup and installed it with the LiveSync option. (CSBackup.domain.local and CSBackupLiveSync.domain.local) The Computer Group “CVLiveSync” was created and three clients were automatically added: CSMain, CSMainLivesync and CSBackupLiveSync. In the CommServe’s Control Panel, clicking “CommServe LiveSync” (to complete the configuration) we are presented with a popup that simply says “Message” with the option “OK” Has anyone seen this? What have I missed in the setup? Online install documents have not shown me any steps I’ve missed. Please assist. (Our SQL instances on the primary and the backup are not the same version. Does this matter?)
Hello Commvault Community, Today I would like to ask you if Commvault has integration with the Autodesk BIM 360 platform?I searched the available Commvault documentation but found nothing. I would like to install and configure a TPM module for an Existing CommServe Server host and standby. MY software is install on the same drive than my OS Windows. (RAID1 with C drive only) and I would like to encrypt the C drive for OS with BitLocker. If my Commvault software already uses software encryption, can Bitlocker encryption conflict with Commvault's if the OS is on the same disk as the Commvault software installation? Best Regard
Since some time I’m seeing this error in an alert from one client server.Looked around but didn’t find a way to fix this.
