Quick question. I understand the longest time per backup task is 10 seconds. Is there someway to get around that limitation?If no, that’s ok. I’ll just break out clients into separate schedule policies.

We deployed 7 CommCell servers and got 7 Command center portal. Could Commvault provide centralize portal to manage all Command center URL?Our operation team want to access one portal, then they could click each Command center portal to finish these routine job.

Is anyone using NetApp for CommVault disk library, we just replaced the HP MSA2050 with NetApp FAS2720, this is 72 SATA 14.5 disk enclosure. The write performance is great but read is supper slow. The Aux copy is very slow for SQL DB backup and Exchange. I run Validate Storage on 1 path, all backup and aux was disabled, that is the max read of 31 MB/Sec   

I see in the docs that Metallic VM backup supports Hyper-V hosts and Hyper-V clusters.But I have not found in the docs how to set up a cluster. Ex.Do I load the Proxy on all nodes, and Metallic figures out which node to use for which VM? We are planning a demo, so there is no trial and error and previous knowledge of Metallic VM setup.(We are using the Office365 backups only at this point) 

Hi, Is it possible to backup the NFS drive mounted from the Client. I tried to add mount path in the subclient properties under content tab. Then run the backup but its failed. If possible what is the proper way to backup the nfs mount path from the Client.

I get the same Events in JavaConsoles EventViewer, but the Alert Rules don’t include all those new IDs. Do Admins need to manually update those predefined Rules or should the Upgrade have done that?

We have a lot of VMs which changed the backup from filesystem based to VSA and some from VSA to filesystem based. When we move a FS backup client to VSA backup we do uninstall CommVault software.I expect when we move a client from VSA to FS backup, the VSA configuration (client properties) should be gone when last backup it’s aged out, same in the other direction. If not is there a possibility to remove it? Or what we need to do to have a clean commcell.my problem is: when I catch information via API I am not sure if I got current configuration or the old configuration. sample: I see then last backup taken via FS backup 2 weeks ago but hidden we taken VSA backups which are up2date.CV version: 11.24.34regards Juergen

Hi, I am still learning about commVault and I am trying to fix an issue with a Commvault > CloudApps job which have three buckets as Subclient. Two S3 buckets are backing up ok and the other one getting errors in the specific job history some times [82:129] and some times [19:583] Description: Another backup is running for client [Custom_AWS_S3], iDataAgent [Cloud Apps], Backup Set [defaultBackupSet], Subclient. I don’t know its anything to do with the credentials used for the S3_EU region but the client readiness checks saying “ready”. I am still struggling to find why two buckets backing up using the same IAM credentials? So why just one bucket backup task is failing for the job. Please give me some insight into it. ThanksSuj 

Hi fellows,with respect to the Books online it should be possible to restore Guest Files back to the Redhat Guest.https://documentation.commvault.com/11.24/expert/31969_restores.html"Files and folders can be restored to the source VM, to a physical client, or to a VM with an appropriate agent installed. "Unfortunately it is not possible to select a "restore to guest" during Restore in Commcell Console or Command Center (11.24). Do I miss something? We have below query from our customer. Does the Access Nodes only require outbound connectivity to Office 365? Is there any requirement to configure inbound connectivity?

Hello, Everyone. So i have this critical issue. I have a Media Agent with LUNs attached to it, used as Libraries with all Mount Paths configured. Now, the Media agent has crashed. I have provisioned a new Media and those LUNs can be seen locally the new Media agent. I want to Library to pick the name of the New Media agent over the old one that crashed. This is very urgent for me, please. The company is one of our major clients.  

We currently have 527 tapes in our library (physically in the tape library as well as “offsite”).  I would like to duplicate all of these tapes to store offsite, as well as create duplicates of any new tape moving forward.I would like to have every tape available in two different physical storage locations.  This way if one of those locations is lost to a natural disaster we don’t lose our backups.How would I go about achieving this?Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

I have a media agent (no jobs going to it) that’s also hosting the webserver/console.  I’ve been informed of 2 java installs on this server and am being asked if they can be removed.  There is no Java console installed, but there is an installed product “Commvault Contentstore” as well as MS SQL server things installed for 2008 → 2012, and a MongoDB.  I’m not sure if these were part of some older Commvault products, or just something else some admin installed for some reason.it appears there’s a running commvault related SQL Server agent (“SQLAgent$Commvault” windows service) as well as a running “MSSQL$COMMVAULT” Windows service, but I cannot see any MS SQL related things in the Java console attached to this media agent (as a clinet/subclient)… so what’s the database for?There’s also these running Windows services (and some others commvault related, but these stood out):GxTomcatInstance001 - the webserver I presume, though IIS is also running?GxMONGO(Ins

Hello,I’m getting a partial failure when doing a backup operation to one of my client in vmware. The failure reason goes as follow: SERVERNAME\[DATASTORENAME] SERVERNAME/VMDKNAME-000001.vmdk FailedFailed to collect disk block information. After doing some google fu and trying to find something in commvault KB I failed short. Good day. I am busy testing Notes database and Transaction log backups & restores.I have scheduled a daily full and hourly log backups.Test restores from full backup work as expected, but the Transaction log restores do not restore any changes that occurred after the full backup. I did not select “Do not replay transaction logs” option.I have been reading through the Commvault documentation, but I am struggling to find detailed documentation around Notes DB transaction log restores.Any assistance would be appreciated.  

Hi all,Our customer using Exchange Archive and they want to access archive mails from outside without VPN. Web Server working on CommServe and hostname is like commserve.local.
