Hi All, The Adminconsole showing the recovery Point of the client in Dashboard and as per my understanding Recovery Point refers data available from Primary Copy.Sameway,  how can I get the receovery Point from secondary copy?Any report and any way to get the information? Thanks in AdvanceMani

Hello, Everyone. So i have this critical issue. I have a Media Agent with LUNs attached to it, used as Libraries with all Mount Paths configured. Now, the Media agent has crashed. I have provisioned a new Media and those LUNs can be seen locally the new Media agent. I want to Library to pick the name of the New Media agent over the old one that crashed. This is very urgent for me, please. The company is one of our major clients.  

We currently have 527 tapes in our library (physically in the tape library as well as “offsite”).  I would like to duplicate all of these tapes to store offsite, as well as create duplicates of any new tape moving forward.I would like to have every tape available in two different physical storage locations.  This way if one of those locations is lost to a natural disaster we don’t lose our backups.How would I go about achieving this?Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

I have a media agent (no jobs going to it) that’s also hosting the webserver/console.  I’ve been informed of 2 java installs on this server and am being asked if they can be removed.  There is no Java console installed, but there is an installed product “Commvault Contentstore” as well as MS SQL server things installed for 2008 → 2012, and a MongoDB.  I’m not sure if these were part of some older Commvault products, or just something else some admin installed for some reason.it appears there’s a running commvault related SQL Server agent (“SQLAgent$Commvault” windows service) as well as a running “MSSQL$COMMVAULT” Windows service, but I cannot see any MS SQL related things in the Java console attached to this media agent (as a clinet/subclient)… so what’s the database for?There’s also these running Windows services (and some others commvault related, but these stood out):GxTomcatInstance001 - the webserver I presume, though IIS is also running?GxMONGO(Instance001) - I have no idea what

Hello,I’m getting a partial failure when doing a backup operation to one of my client in vmware. The failure reason goes as follow: SERVERNAME\[DATASTORENAME] SERVERNAME/VMDKNAME-000001.vmdk FailedFailed to collect disk block information. After doing some google fu and trying to find something in commvault KB I failed short. Anyone can help me in resolving this? Thanks

Good day. I am busy testing Notes database and Transaction log backups & restores.I have scheduled a daily full and hourly log backups.Test restores from full backup work as expected, but the Transaction log restores do not restore any changes that occurred after the full backup. I did not select “Do not replay transaction logs” option.I have been reading through the Commvault documentation, but I am struggling to find detailed documentation around Notes DB transaction log restores.Any assistance would be appreciated.  

Hi all,Our customer using Exchange Archive and they want to access archive mails from outside without VPN. Web Server working on CommServe and hostname is like commserve.local. Hi,we installed a new dedupe appliance as a new library. we are now configure a new SP with no compression and no encryption (commvault dedupe in on).we need to replicate the data using aux copy to the DR site with a straight disk library (JBOD).my question - if we backup with no compression ‘ will aux copy also transfers uncompressed data to the DR site? because in this case , we’ll be run out of capacity in the DR library.thanks.

Hello,  I want to know if I'm going to remove 1 dns zone how can I restore it via AD, should I check DC=domainDnsZones or DC=ForestDnsZone? And then full dns zone be restored? For example I want to remove RestoremePlease ( see attachment), how can I restore it via AD restore 

Hello Fellow CV Community I have an issue with our USA CommCell.  We had to build a new 2019 VM CommCell Server due to the fact we were running on 2012R2 and we could not upgrade our Service Pack to 24 until we went past that OS.  Since upgrading and doing a DR restore, any new tapes we put in our library come back with the following when verifying the media:“Media in library [HP MSL 4048 Tape Library], slot [slot42] does not have a valid media label that is not written to by this product.”We thought this was just an issue with tapes that were in the library, when we did the upgrade and saw this an oversight.  However this is happening after we took all those tapes out, rebooted the library and added brand new tapes in to the library.Our infinite backups are at risk until we get this resolved.  Any help as always would be greatly appreciated. TonyQ

Hey All, did you any inforamtions regarding vSphere Replication and commvault vsa backups ?  Is this supported from commvault end ?  The vSphere Replication is going dow after commvault backuped the vm.  We do not use HotAdd at all for backup and we use NBD transport for these backups. We also tried not to use CBT file for CommVault subclients (some of them as a test), and we got some successful backups without replication failures, but at the very end even on these subclient I was told that replication broke.We also tested "Crash Consistent" backup type (pure snapshot), but without success.We do not know if the problem connected with storage performance.VMWare support told us that the root of the problem is connected with the locks (that came because of CV snapshot operations), and VMWare can do nothing with this locks and stops/breaks replication. At the same time we know 100% that CV uses only VMWare API for snapshot operation, - no hidden functions.

We are planning on setting up DR for commvault, What are best practices in terms of Space, RTO and RPO.

Our security team are complaining that when they reboot their Siteminder servers, their process fails to start because ClMgrS process appears to be using port 44442.  Siteminder needs that port in order to start up.  What we end up having to do is to stop the commvault process in the client to let the Siteminder start; then restart commvault.Does anyone know why Commvault need that port?   It is not in the list of standard ports that Commvault uses.  https://documentation.commvault.com/v11/essential/7102_port_requirements_for_commvault.html#additional-ports-based-on-use-cases Anyone know how to exclude that port by the CommVault agent?
