Can’t download 11.36.65 using console or command center. Powershell does reach downloadcenter.commvault.com on 443 from the Commcell. T1 support says the site is down, but no outage is reported on CV anywhere that I see. Can anyone confirm the outage? If so, when will it be back up?
Hello community,we are using IntelliSnap to achieve smooth and fast backups for our Oracle clients. The integration is configured as follows: RMAN connection string points to the RMAN catalog Backup interface is set to RMAN Data restore from Commvault works perfectly “The issue”: We are unable to retrieve a list of backups from the RMAN catalog for backups performed using Commvault/IntelliSnap. This limits our DBAs, as they cannot query backup information directly without accessing the Commvault console. If we perform a regular backup copy (not a snapshot) of the database and archive logs, the RMAN catalog updates correctly and lists the backups. Question: Is this expected behavior (by design) with IntelliSnap? Are there any best practices or configuration tweaks to make IntelliSnap backups visible in the RMAN catalog? Has anyone successfully enabled RMAN catalog visibility for these backups? Any feedback, tips, or documentation references would be greatly appreciated. How yo
Hi all, I wonder if anyone has encountered this issue. I am getting NDMP Netapp Intellisnap backup failure. The problem is the backup keeps using the wrong Media Agent which is not even defined in the Array management definition of Remote MA for the Netapp arrap in question. In fact the remote MA definition is blank. I tried to manually define the remote MA using the correct MA but it keeps using the wrong MA. Hi, We’ve upgrade from v 11.36.49 to 11.36.68.The upgrade appeared to complete successfully on the Commserve, however I noticed the MongoDB service was failing to start and kept retrying. From the logs I can see the error “featurecompatibilityversion 4.2 expected 6.0 or 6.3 or 7.0”. On further investigation I can see the mongod.exe has been upgraded to v7 however the featurecompatibility has been left as 4.2. Replacing the .exe with a version 4.2 has resolved the issue, services start and all ok.My questions are, I’ve seen the kb about manually upgrading minor versions, but how is it possible to upgrade to v7? CV doesn’t support manually upgrading major version. Will running v4.2 cause any problems, it appears to have been fine for the last few days since I’ve done this. Will this resolve in the next upgrade? Is this a known issue for 11.36.68?
Hi, we want to know what can we do if we have, unintentionally, enabled worm storage lock on our hyperscale X ?we understand the part where we can disable compliance lock through form for the Storage policies but what can we do about the storage pool? Regards
Hi, Some of my colleagues and I have noticed that as of recently, the ‘Expert’ section on https://documentation.commvault.com appears to no longer be available, as least not the way it used to be. The section does not appear in the navigation, regardless of whether viewing documentation for 11.32, 11,40, etc.; The section can still be accessed by navigating to a specific URL (e.g.: https://documentation.commvault.com/2024e/expert/troubleshooting_restores_oracle_agent_01.html) though it will redirect to /commcell-console/ rather than /expert/. Here, ‘Commcell Console’ (previously ‘Expert’) is in fact shown as a navigation section; Additionally, it seems that logging in with a Commvault account does not make any difference. The section won’t appear regardless of whether you are logged in or not. In fact, the Expert/Commcell Console articles are visible to anyone directly navigating to the URL, even when not logged in. Can we expect this section to become visible available again? Perha
Hello,, Do you still need a global account for Teams backups? And every time a new Team group is created, the global account is added to the group. Is this still necessary? If not, how do I disable it? Currently we are on CV 11.36.60 Thank you
Hi, We are currently running Commvault 11.32.102 and we are affected by the following CVE's:CVE-2025-48988CVE-2024-54677CVE-2025-49124CVE-2025-46701CVE-2024-50379CVE-2024-56337CVE-2025-31651CVE-2025-49125CVE-2025-24813CVE-2025-53506CVE-2024-52318CVE-2025-52520CVE-2025-31650Support mentioned that the vulnerabilities does NOT affect Commvault. But this version of Tomcat (10.1.31.0) is still vulnerable and is solved in version 10.1.42 which requires 11.42 (which is not a LTS version). How to solve it in current LTS versions (11.32, 11.36 or 11.40)?
Hello All,Our Openshift admins want from than us to exclude all PVC in OpenShift. Is there a way to exclude PVC as more dynamic approach ?
We are trying to access the Commcell JAVA GUI from the outside Comm server. From the client we are able to download the galaxy.jnlp and launch. During the login we are getting the error message unable to connect to Commcell. Is there any specific ports need to be opened at Firewall except 80 and 81?
We have quite a few VMware VMs being backed up via VSA streaming backups that have multiple scsi disks defined. We would like to be able to specify only the system disk (SCSI 1:0) and exclude any other disks. However, the default VM Disk filter in the subclient only allows for excluding disks. We’d like to be able to just specify which disk to include rather than which disks to exclude. Is this possible to do somehow? Thanks!
Hi Commvault Community,I'm working with Commvault Threat Scan and need help verifying if the daily Avira signature updates are occurring successfully. According to the documentation (https://documentation.commvault.com/2024e/expert/commvault_threat_scan_requirements.html), updates should happen automatically every 24 hours via an outbound connection to https://oem.avira-update.com/update on port 443.However, I reviewed updateinfo.log and found nothing related to Avira (no success messages, errors, or timestamps). Is there a specific log file, command, or Command Center view to reliably check the last successful Avira update and current signature version? Or a way to force a manual update and log it verbosely?Best regards,Nikos
Hello all, We have a typical Hyper-V environment with about 50 VMs. We're performing full backups daily.. For offsite copies, we use a GFS (Grandfather-Father-Son) backup setup with a tape library with daily/weekly and monthly/yearly retention policies.Everything runs fine overall—we just need to manually delete daily tapes after a week due to retention issues with big data apps not syncing correctly with the planned retention schedule. This is manageable on our end.The real issue is with restores. We have a backup site that is fully offline and is a clone of the primary site. When we try to restore VMs, most restore fine and grab the index from the daily tape. However, some VMs require indexes from other tapes. To restore all VMs, we often need 2–3 additional tapes from within the 7-day window. In other words, not all indexes are stored on a single tape—this is evident from the index size per tape.It seems the problem is related to the IndexCheckpoint and how the index database is wr
I am using Commvault 11.36 and have a storage policy with a retention of 7 days, 1 cycle. I recently ran the Data Aging Job and generated the Data Retention Forecast and Compliance reports, but I think some aged data may not have been pruned.Could someone guide me on how to verify if the aged data has actually been removed? Are there specific reports, job logs, or steps I should check to confirm this?Disk Library is Full. Is there any solution for now?
my setup is like this file server → Production CommVault -- (auxiliary copy) DR Media Agent + DR CV → File ServerIn this setup file server backups data to production CV system. I want the auxiliary copy to be pulled by DR Media agent and we are using NFS to put this data to DR CV and from DR CV we are restoring the file server dataHow can i configure a pull mechanism from DR Media Agent? is this possible? my environment - RHEL based infrastructure with command center no java console
About 3 weeks ago we upgraded from 11.28 to 11.36. Since then our VMware SAN mode (Fiber Channel) backups on average are 25% slower. Has anyone else run into this? I can see the slow down in the job run times and throughput, as well a looking at my Fiber Channel SAN ports. Here is a screen shot of the SAN port performance for the last year. The ports in the chart are only used to pull the VMware backups from our ESX environment. The spikes are the full backups each weekend. We can see the last 3 weekends have been much slower than the trend was before that. Was there changes to the VDDK or some other related piece of the backup?
Hi,our tape library has a defect and i must change to another one.I have changed it in our storage policy: Is this enough or do I have to consider anything else?RegardsDennis

Hello all,I have a virtual environment on VMware that I back up with Commvault. The first copy is stored on local storage, and the second copy is made to Azure Archive Blob combined with the Cool tier. For both copies, I have deduplication enabled. I have a question about the restore process when deduplication is enabled: will the restore process recall/rehydrate all data related to the deduplication database, or only the data related to the specific job I need to restore?I have been looking for information in the community but could not find anything regarding deduplication enabled for the Archive tier.Thank you in advance.
Hi Expert Team, We are getting below Vulnerability for Nexus scan on AzureHCI nodes where VSA proxies are installed. These VSA nodes are used only for HCI VM backups not VMWare. We have earlier raised one case 240809-322, but it was specific to VMware. Now the question is how these plugins loaded when we are not doing VMware backups using this proxy. Can it be deleted manually? If deleted will it have any impact on HCI VM backups? Is anyone else using Azure Blob discovery in Commvault? Specifically under Protect → Object Storage → Object Storage Groups?I’ve defined several Object Storage Groups to automatically detect new Azure Storage accounts. Discovery itself works—new accounts are picked up as expected. However, I’m running into issues with excluding certain accounts from backup. 🚫 Exclusion Logic ChallengesIn one subscription, we have Storage accounts that should not be backed up. We’ve applied a tag to those accounts and created a rule in the Object Storage Group to exclude them. But it doesn’t work. From what I can tell, the rule behaves like an inclusion filter, not a traditional exclusion filter. That means I have to define what should be backed up, rather than what shouldn’t. This is problematic:There’s no support for wildcards. It’s difficult to write a rule that includes “everything except these few tagged accounts.” ⏰ Discovery Timing FlawAnother issue: the Azure Blob discovery job runs daily at 10:
Dear Community, We are Planning to deploy Data Isolation / Air Gap ( Primary is in On Prem ) for a secondary site in on Prem. Logically isolation DC is my 3rd Site and sending the secondary copy from DC1, DC2 to my DC3( isolation site). We are Planning to enable the AIRGAP between my Primary Site and new DC. I have found one article from Commvault ( attaching here ) Please let me know if any additional information and share us the best practices and use cases if any for such configurations.
