Commvault expects users to wait days until the process gets killed or what?   

Hi! Here, it is mentioned that you can enable Incremental Backup in Cassandra. However, Cassandra documentation explicitly states that incremental backup files are not automatically cleared. Now, I assume that Commvault will clear the incremental backup files after a successful backup job, but I would like to have confirmation on that. Does CV do that? Documentation makes no reference of it (or I could not find it). Thanks!

Hello Commvault Community, Today I would like to ask you if Commvault has integration with the Autodesk BIM 360 platform?I searched the available Commvault documentation but found nothing. Hello Guys,In my Lab i want to remove a DDB that was seal and is not in use and has no more jobs associated with it.  

I would like to install and configure a TPM module for an Existing CommServe Server host and standby. MY software is install on the same drive than my OS Windows. (RAID1 with C drive only) and I would like to encrypt the C drive for OS with BitLocker. If my Commvault software already uses software encryption, can Bitlocker encryption conflict with Commvault's  if the OS is on the same disk as the Commvault software installation? Best Regard

Since some time I’m seeing this error in an alert from one client server.Looked around but didn’t find a way to fix this. Hi All, Has anyone had any experience with protecting an on-site APS PDW appliance?At the moment the appliance dumps massive .bak files to a unc path and Commvault backs that up with no dedupe or compression.It’s obviously be preferable to back the Appliance up directly to take advantage of dedupe and compression and skip the .bak portion altogether. Thanks in anticipation.

Hi all, Maybe a silly question, but if a bunch of files exist on one VM and are copied to another VM, are they deduplicated against each other? Hello everyone,I have a question about storage policy configuration.  I take incremental backups every day but Friday when I run a full backup.  Retention is:Incrementals: 2 weeks Full backups: 30 days Monthly fulls: 1 year Yearly fulls: 3 yearsI have a primary and secondary site but the secondary site has a much smaller media agent and I actually ran out of space.  To address this, I added CommVault Metallic cloud storage with the intent that the once per year Yearly Full backups would go to the cloud.  Just today I noticed that 10TB of data is being replicated to the Metallic Cloud storage and I can’t explain why.  Can you look at these pictures of my configuration and explain where I went wrong?Ken   

Hello, we’re currently due for a hardware refresh for our CommCell and media agents. Currently, we have an ‘all-in-one’ setup with CommCell and media agent both installed baremetal on a dell server. I understand that it is likely better to have the CommCell hosted on a separate server? If that is the case, which server hosts the index cache and DDB? This will be on a Windows install… would it be an issue running the media agent on a hyperv host with the commcell as a guest vm? Thanks

Hi, Everyone. I have a customer with this exact problem. After the Commvault refresh/reconfiguration which was concluded some months back, we had some issues backing up to tape which we finally understood was related to the tape drives we were using then. We have resolved the issue with the drives but we are still having copy to tape running at a very low speed (As low as 13GB/hr). Kindly assist us with below. We have sister companies running this same Commvault and we want to know how their setup is different from ours that make them better. We need to review our architecture to be sure the copy to disk and copy to tape can happen at the same time from the primary source. The difference in storage in terms of I/O and disk rpm from what we have here and that of our sister companies. Is there any way i can help them, please?

Hello, As shown below, we would like to implement the following solution:Snapshots on DC1 are taken in the Hot Tier of NetApp systems (where the Production data reside) Snapshots are then replicated using Snapmirror DR software to another NetApp system (AFF400 Cluster) located in the remote datacentre DC2 Snapshots of DC1 are then replicated using Snapvault software to another NetApp system (FAS8300 Cluster) located in the same datacentre Snapshots of DC2 are then replicated using Snapvault software to another NetApp system (FAS8300 Cluster) located in the same datacentre Question is concerning point 4: with Intellisnap can we manage the snapvault of “MIRRORED” snapshots? Many thanks. Hi, I have a few questions about a customer that has a subscription based license: To my understanding, we have to enable "Service Provider Billing" in Cloud Metrics Reporting. Is there a detailed overview available about exactly what information is collected? For instance, which field names like client name, subclient name, job error message, etc. are included? They need detailed information (Health, Activity and Audit) in their own Metrics server (hosted on the CommServe). But they want to forward only Service Provider Billing information to us (the Reseller). How can we accomplish this? I believe if we use the "Forwarding" option, everything gets forwarded, right? Thanks in advance for any response!

Hi Team,I have an environment with three big virtual machines, aprox 30Tb each one, I have configured a subclient for each one. The last synthetic jobs are requiring to much time and during this time (more than 100 hours) the daily incremental jobs are queued. Do you know if there is any possibility to avoid it? in other words, is it possible to run both, the Synthetic full and incremental jobs, simultaneously?Thank you

Hello Guys,The customer have one issue provoked by one MA(client) deletion. In the past I had one Media Agent (Hypervisor) and a Storage Policy for Yearly backups only for this MA.I deleted the Media Agent(client) but I keep the Storage Policy, I assumed if I delete the MA(client) I can always recover the original backups done by this PTOPOSRV010HYP into another server. Now when I try to browse the backups jobs it gives me the following message:It looks like the Commvault lost the reference between the original MA(client) and those backups. It is possible to recovery this??I tried and installed again the MA into the same server(I still have the physical server with same host name), but it looks like the Commvault cannot associate the jobs. I will have more situations like this, we discontinued old physical servers(MA) and purchase new. The approach I need to do for these MA(to be discontinued) will be “Retire the client” at the commcell?This will remove the license and keep the Client
